I am a former teacher. A long time ago I was a history major in college. I still enjoy learning about history. I like to read, however my job gets in the way some times. One topic I love to read about is WWI.

Hi, my name is Jeannette Katzir, and I guess you could say I am a Holocaust addict. I have read many many books about the subject. It is very near and dear to my heart . . . my parents are/were survivors. Mom died 6 years ago. But that subject grabs me like no other. I even wrote a book about it.

Hello Jeannette; thank you for sharing with us your background. I am happy for you that your parents were and are survivors. And I can understand your attraction to this subject area because of your experiences and those of your family. I am sorry about your mother's recent passing. You handled our no self promotion policy very well by not posting the name of your book and/or any other personal information.

Regarding the Holocaust, this is one situation where one wonders where was the decency or soul in any of the perpetrators. It is such a stain on humanity that this occurred and you have my sincere condolences.

Regarding the History Book Club, we are sincerely happy to have you with us. As you post more, we will honor you and your book in the author's thread. Thank you for joining us.

Hi! My name is Carol and I live in CT. My husband and I have been married for 27 years and we have three children – two are recent college graduates and our youngest in his sophomore year. I have a BFA. For many years I worked as a graphic designer. Now I paint oils and volunteer as a docent at the oldest, continually operating art museum in America (The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art.) I love reading a variety of literature. I just finish reading Woody Holton's Abigail Adams.

I'm an old fogey with a history degree. I got the degree late in life after flying all over the world in the Air Force. I visited places with such grand history that I promised myself that I would get a degree in history when I quit flying and had time to settle down.

I got the history degree and then retired from the Air Force with lots of experience in computers.

I worked in computers for one company for 15 years and retired again.

I formed my own company and then retired again.

I'm going to stay retired now.

I'm Nancy and I live in the SF Bay area. I'm an avid high tech entrepreneur with 7 successful startups under my belt and because of that, I'm certified as being crazy. Currently working in the mobile data services space.

I have an undergraduate and graduate degrees in Computer and Electrical Engineering.

I love reading, especially historical fiction and biographies.

For hobbies beyond reading I am horse obsessed, a long-time trumpet player, teaching myself guitar and I'm always "learning" to speak French. Ma grand-mère était française.

We always when citing a book or author add the book cover, the author's photo when available and the author's link which the author's name in text.
