My name is Audrey and I am a mom of one daughter and two pugs. I love to read a variety of topics, and am especially interested in anything to do with history. I have been very fascinated with ancient Chinese history, medieval and early American history. It's great to be a part of the group!

Hi Lindsay and Audrey, Nice to see you both join the group. I am sure you will both have a great time discussing great books and great moments in history.Below are some links that will help you navigate the History Book Club and what our requirements are.
It would be very helpful if you took the time to familiarise yourself with these:
Policies & Practices
(this one is helpful for when you want to add book covers and author's photo's/links)
and:
Orientation & Roadmap
This is an example of how we like to highlight books and authors by using the 'add book/author' function/button:

Welcome all, Bentley is a great moderator and has even complimented me! You are both (Audrey and Lyndsay) in excellent hands, notwithstanding the assistants. Good eggs all!
Hi everyone, my name is Randy. I'm 43 and married with two kids (8 and 6). I live near Gainesville, FL and spend a lot of time with the family attending my son's sporting events. Also, we attend Gator sports whenever possible. When I find time to read, it's mostly U.S. history. I also love a good road trip and almost always try to find historical sites along the way. Anyway, I look forward to getting involved with the group very soon.
Welcome! Bentley, Aussie.. whoever, will doubtless orientate you with the links you will need to use; suffice to say that this group is excellent; some good, if not great minds, and good fun!
Welcome, Randy. Glad you could join us.As Harvey states, I'm one of the assistant moderators. If you haven't already done so, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you are ready to comment on a book. (There is a link on the top right of the reply box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. This is how a book should look:

Hello Charl ~ Welcome! There are a multitude of topics to explore and discussions of books abound within those threads. Hope you explore and enjoy. We look forward to your participation.
Welcome, Charl! We've got lots of good recommendations about many sections of history. If you don't see what you're looking for, please ask. Glad to have you join us!
Hi Charl, good to see you join the group. I also enjoy European history and books on the Great War so hopefully we can swap some good book suggestions.
Hello, I'm fairly new to Goodreads and just discovered the group feature. My name is Markus and I'm living in Austria and studying history and latin to (maybe) become a teacher. At the moment I'm browsing through the discussion board and have already discovered a lot of interesting subjects. I'm sure that I will find some interesting recommendations for further readings on this board. I have just started to add some books to my account and I'm sure the list will get longer with time.PS: By just looking through the board, I have to say I'm stunned how much effort you put into the cultivation of this group, Bentley (a rather rare thing regarding the "web 2.0" fashion today, where everbody has created a bunch of groups and blogs by himself which never get looked after).
We are glad to have you Markus and welcome to the History Book Club.
Please make sure to take a careful look at our guidelines.

Hello Markus ~ Glad you found the group. There is a lot to explore covering many areas of history. The guidelines that Bentley pointed you to are important but quite easy once you get the hang of it. Welcome!
Welcome, Markus. Glad to have you join us. Good luck in deciding if teaching is for you. Enjoy the reading and discussions!
