I'm a high school History teacher with interests is primarily naval history mostly in the War of 1812, Age of Sail, Napoleonic Wars, Civil War and World War II. I work on restoring a WWII Fletcher class destroyer and sail as often as I can and time allows. I'm active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. I am married and have two kids who I adore.

Hey there everyone. I'm a high school senior in a rather boring suburb of Green Bay, Wisconsin. I love to read, and I love history, so I thought this group would be wonderful for me

I don't have many books on history, but I hope to expand my collection. It feels like I have no time to read the ones I do have, though. I have over 400 books, less than 60 of which I have read.

I have a few hobbies, but if they're 'normal' for someone of my age is, of course, questionable. I love to read and gain knowledge in general. I have over 60 podcasts (I'm listening to a BBC World Service documentary as I type this) many of which are science/history/current events related. I enjoy working with my hands, so I enjoy making papercrafts from time to time, and I'm involved with the stage crew at my school. I enjoy video games, but I've stopped playing them nearly as much as I used to. I also try to spend as much time as I can with my girlfriend, with whom I have been for almost two years now.

I'm sure I will enjoy my stay here :)

Our group requires that when you cite a book and/or author that you add the book cover when available (it usually is), the author's photo when available, and the author's link which is always available. The Goodreads Software is very powerful and populates the fields on our site when this is done.

In following our rules for citations, when you mentioned Killer Angels it should have been cited like the following example:

Michael Shaara

There is no author's photo available on goodreads for the above.

Since you mentioned Master and Commander, that citation should look like the following:

It is very easy actually and once you get in the habit of adding the book cover, author's photo when available and author's link, it will become second nature to you. The goodreads software only works if you add the links as requested.
