Elemental Mysteries Series by Elizabeth Hunter

This is one of those series where in the first few sentences you know it is going to be good.
It is a series is well written and an inventive story line. It has characters you love, an interesting take on vampires and some very emotional stuff going on.
I think what I love the most is that the author doesn't force-feed you everything in the first few chapters. It slowly unravels and you get to solve the mystery along with the characters.

Another good series is : The Pearl Vampire Chronicles by Dara Nelson , with 5 books out and # 6 is coming in July.
Check them out there are very well written and quite captivating.
BTW , How do you put the book covers on the e-mail, haven't figured that out yet :)

Great writing, mysterious, creepy and hard to put down. Heart pounding....really!
The story of a cemetery restorer who can see ghosts and has some mysteries to unravel including one about herself and where she came from.

Sentinel Wars, by Shannon K. Butcher
It's a unique, dark series about a dying race of warriors who keep the human race safe from demons. The warriors must find their mates in order to survive. The good thing about the heroines in the books is that they all have powers and are strong characters, too. The books are PNR, in that there is one couple per book, but after a few books we gather a number of characters that we follow.

A spicy, sexy series about a group of vampires who work for Scanguards Security Company. Which specializes in security, of buildings to people. They have funny banter and interesting characters. Most of the vampires carry some baggage and are very "human like" with extraordinary abilities.

Lab experiments who were created with altered DNA from men and animals to create the perfect warriors/killers for the military. Have been exposed, freed and are now trying to fit in and deal with the horrid abuse they suffered. The Government has given them a compound where they rule themselves but are constantly being preyed upon by ignorant, violent humans who think they should be "Put Down." They find love and learn to figure out where they fit in to the scheme of things. Very sexy and warm, funny reads. I loved them.

Warm, Sexy, Powerful and Scarey! Vampires and a strong, self sufficient heroine. I love this series. The romance is tops, the action is fantastic and the story is great. Good writing and a block buster of a series. Make sure you read book two right after book one. They are kinda the continuation of the story in book one.
An example of the way the vampire is depicted. In this scene the hero (Raphael) is trying to bust the bad guys who have his sister and he comes upon one of the dudes threatening his Cyn (heroine) I love the way the author describes Raphael...like some rabid animal...:
"Raphael came through the door like a child's nightmare, his eyes glowing an almost solid silver with wrath, his gleaming fangs fully extended, blood painting his mouth a brilliant red, dripping from his chin to shine wetly against the tattered remains of his black shirt. His huge chest was heaving with the fury of his breath, and his hands curled into claws as his gaze found her and he growled a warning. 'Release her, human.'
'Who are you? the man rasped, fear taking away his breath, coarsening his voice.
'Release her.'
The man tightened his grip, 'Come closer and she dies.'
Rachael's mouth widened in a terrifying smile, 'You think to bargain with me?'"
And this is only the beginning of an amazing scene.

This series is about warriors who are charged with carrying demons within them. There are gods, hunters, angels, and even a cameo of a character from Immortals After Dark. The warriors are sexy and strong, and some of them are funny. The humor increases later in the series. Don't miss it!

No problem! Let me know if you run into any issues. I'm not one of those people who gets annoyed explaining something to someone more than once. : )

Whooohooo Ladies!!! All those covers from Lisa and Katya are hot hot hot!

Thought I'd share this series with you, it's new and sexy and full of page-turning fun. I love a good romance story, especially if the lead female character is strong and capable, and the male lead(s) are sexy, powerful and a little on the bad boy side.
Check out Kindred, by Nicola Claire:

Thanks NicNac I hadn't heard of these before....will check them out.
Omg! This forum was bad idea! Too Many amazing new series out there for me to check out! I am going crazy trying to decide which to start first.

LOL I totally agree Pat. I love this thread! I have found so many excellent new reads.

In an alternate near future of our world, there are Psy, changelings (shifters) and humans. The Psy are at the top of the food chain, followed by shifters. Psy are conditioned from birth to not feel any emotions. They are connected to each other mentally via the PsyNet. But for some, the conditioning is beginning to fail...

It's on my To-Read shelf. ;)

Hey Lisa, if you like Nalini, you may be interested in another Kiwi author: Nicola Claire. Great vampire series with lots of action and romance.

two fantastic series Rachel...
Hey does the Raphael story continue soon or has their story not been finished yet?

Raphael and Cyn are the subject of the first two books:

The first book is a very frustrating end to an interesting story but realize it is only half way in that story....you have to continue wiht Jabril to see how Raphael and Cyn get together. And it contains one of the most satisfying declarations of love I have ever read. Raphael is smooth as silk.
Then

A really good series....

Full length books all the way. I hate falling in love with characters only to have them leave me so quickly.
BTW....Who is reading "Once Burned" tonight???? I AM!

I agree Didi, this is my first attempt at Novella and I was sad when I realised I wasn't getting a full book, but it's still lovely. Just wish there was more of it!
oh rachel! it supposed to be so good. its a spinoff to the night huntress series. it gets released on the 26th eastern time which means 9pm on the 25th for me! if you havent read any of her series you should check it out the night huntress series is super good, but i have been waiting to hear vlads story, which is what the book, once burned is about

My recc is the Soul-Linked Saga by Laura Jo Phillips. It starts with "The Dracon's Woman" (sorry no cover, I looked!). There are five books so far.
Alien world much like ours, abduction, werecreatures, alpha males, menage (but, oddly, not kinky-sexy menage).
They seem to be indie published, so there are some errors occasionally, which annoys me, but not enough to quit or not read the next one in the series.

Oh , I love this series - there are actually three sections planned . Each section has 6 books , I believe. The first section is out and the second one , with book 2.1 is coming out end of June , with the rest following within weeks. The last section will come out in fall ( not sure ). So it is actually like a big novel , but interrupted in shorter books, coming out very fast one after the other.
I am reading right now the Aisling Grey , Guardian series - it is one of the funniest book series I have read a long time.

The series is called

Another good series is the Pearl Vampire Chronicles by Dara Nelson

It is a very different Vampire world, but I love Ms Nelsons style and the story is very captivating. Book 6 in the series is coming out beginning July.

This isn’t really a "paranormal" series, but it takes place either in the far future or in an “alternate” reality. Where space travel is as common place as flying and there are MANY varied cultures and species of human and humanoids. I personally like to read paranormal because I read for escapism and the farther away the reality of the book seems from the everyday life the more I like it. So, under those parameters this is fabulous! And if you like Sherrilyn Kenyon’s writing you MUST try at least the first book! She is very good at taking you far, far away, and you’ll LOVE every minute of it!

It involves the fey, vampires (but not your average loving vampires) and is a little more on Noir side of things, but with a hint of PNR too.
Well worth a look in..
