Um, she just waltzed with Robert at Almacks. I LOVED the humor in this last chapter I read! with the cravat and then while they were dancing- her books just make me laugh CONSTANTLY!!! there was a paragraph I really liked I'll find and share with you...

so sorry- I looked and can't find it :/ but if I read more I particularly like, I'll share it. ;)
just "met" the dog!!! =D that was so cute. ;) I loved (when she's trying to get him to take the dog without asking)-
"Arabella: *stammering* ...would you...?
Robert: ...yes, Miss Talant.... I will."
LOL so cute!!!

HEY Carlin! :D I'm doing great! busy, but still finding time to read! ;) You?

message 766: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) Finally happy to get my tablet in working order late yesterday. It was going bonkers and I was really worried it's broken and I wouldn't be able to use my Kindle and Nook apps and consequently not being able to read my books. Fortunately it righted itself (after having to reboot it back to factory status) and am able to use the apps along w/mobile Goodreads. Sorry just had to vent there. Missed a whole day of reading because of it. Kinda pissed me off there. Lol

haha yes!

message 770: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) Lol well unfortunately I have friends who embrace the current technology (maybe not as much as others but embrace it nontheless) and I am compelled to join. But yesterday is a reminder why, if I'm able to, I always prefer hardcover/paperback version of books.

message 771: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 897 comments my mom has confiscated my technology for the summer haha. ebooks can be useful (sometimes)

message 772: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (chibilee02) why did she do that?

And I've recently started the habit of reading ebooks at night and paperbacks (if I have them) in the day. I don't like having to deal with having to turn on the lights and reading ebooks are convenient with that.

So last summer we had a "new members challenge" trying to get over either 100 or 200, I can't remember. this Summer lets see if we can make it over 300! its kind of a stretch and it may not happen, and numbers dont really matter, but its just so nice to meet new folks and include them in the fun! :D

message 776: by [deleted user] (new)

@Alice: I've been busy too with work and stuff. [And GoodReads keeps bugging on my phone. I didn't get a message telling me that you'd replied. :'( ] Trying to read when I can.

message 777: by Caity, that crazy moderator (new)

Caity | 4434 comments Mod
really? your GR notifies your phone? thats cool. lol I had the app but didn't know you could get notifications. well, I'm glad you came on and saw it! ;D
I'm pretty busy right now too. any reading time is good reading time! ^_^

message 778: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, I receive email notifications from GR and never got one from this discussion. But lots of things bug on the app for me, like how many unread topics are actually in the threads and stuff. Idk. *shrug*

Agreed, any reading time is good reading time. I just wish I wouldn't get so relaxed that I fall asleep, which has been happening lately.

message 779: by Caity, that crazy moderator (new)

Caity | 4434 comments Mod
Oh I see. I thought you meant like on your home page. :P lol yea I deleted my app cause it was just taking up space :P
Oh yea that would be frustrating lol :/ I dont usually fall asleep when I read; if I start to not be able to pay attention I decide its time to go to bed lol :P

message 780: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol. I've been getting so relaxed reading, even in the daytime.

Aside from that, work's been kicking my butt and I'm actually sick at the moment. (More reading time, yay me!) And I found ouy I can read my kindle books on my phone through the kindle app... so now my kindle is kinda useless...

message 781: by Caity, that crazy moderator (new)

Caity | 4434 comments Mod
aw :/ hope you feel better soon! what do you have? haha true- that's the one good thing about being sick ;P HA! poor kindle ;) lol but thats handy you can get it on your phone :)

message 782: by [deleted user] (new)

Insanely handy. :3

As for what I have, I'm not sure. My throat is bugging me and I'm a bit nauseous, so I called out of work. I think I have a stomach bug. Apparently I'm prone to those...

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 897 comments :D

I thought for the app u have to scroll through 50 comments at a time so it takes 4 everrrrr

message 787: by [deleted user] (new)

Yep, pretty much. Though you can skip to the newest comments fairly easily. It's typing on the phone that gives me the most trouble. Unless I turn the phone sideways, I only have a tiny input box to use and can't see what I wrote previously. Sometimes I have to have a tab on my phone's web browser open and flip between iy and the app to see what it is I'm replying to.

Aerykah | 2071 comments Ha! I was just going through some genealogy stuff from my dad's family & discovered that I have a great-great-great-great-grandma named Elizabeth Bennet !
She was born in the mid 1800's. Makes me wonder if her mom was familiar with "Pride & Prejudice"... I'd like to think she was a fan of Jane Austen. ;)

message 798: by Aerykah (new)

Aerykah | 2071 comments lol! Yeah, I rather enjoyed that discovery. ;D

But I was disappointed to find out that this Elizabeth Bennett was an orphan. The guy who did the research said that he couldn't find any trace of info on her parents... :/
