but loved it. I couldn't put it down. I stayed up late to finish reading it. Then couldn't stop thinking about it
I am four hundred pages into this book. Please tell me it ends happy. When I got to the part where T.J. banked his sperm I started worrying where the author was going with this. You don't have to tell me the end, but give me a heads up if its tragic.
I fell in love with this book, it had me from page one. The characters, storyline, setting and ultimate conclusion were executed perfectly. Tracey Garvis-Graves intricately weaves a story that has all the elements that anyone could ask for in a book. She created the characters so well that I felt like they were actually human, not a fictionalized creation. I believed everything that the author asked me to believe and I crash landed on that island with them.
I don't want to describe or give away the storyline but let me say that it ended exactly as I wanted it to. I couldn't have asked for a better ending. As a matter of a fact I had to call my friend Leslie, who loaned it to me, (and I am going to buy my own copy on NOOK just so I can read it again) and make her tell me certain things that were or were not going to happen. I admit it I am not patient!!! But I had to know, it was like the Hunger Games for me, I got so entrenched in this story that I was afraid I might fall apart if something really horrible happened.
I feel sorry for the next book that I read after this, the bar has been set really high.

So I was listening to my I-Pod yesterday and a song came on that immediately made me think of what TJ must have been feeling when they were apart.
Song: If You Only Knew
Artist: Shinedown
(I am going to use select parts from the song)
"If you only knew
I'm hanging by a thread
The web I spin for you
If you only knew
I'd sacrifice my beating
Heart before I lose you...
It's 4:03 and I can't sleep
Without you next to me I
Toss and turn like the sea
If I drown tonight, bring me
Back to life
Breathe your breath in me
The only thing that I still believe
In is you,
If you only knew.

I have had a really hard time finding a book that measures up to it! I finally found one that at least holds my attention it is The Selection
"On the Island" is definitely one of my all time favorite books. I loved the way TGG told the story from two points of view and it actually came to an end. I love that it didn't keep me wondering what happened. I can't wait for "Covet" to come out in the Fall, TGG's next book!

I know I am anxiously awaiting that book as well! I was very glad that the book had a resolution rather than dragging it over a three book deal. Although, I had a really hard time letting go of TJ and Anna!

We need to try and find out if Tracey is going to be doing any advanced copies of Covet, I can't wait for it to come out, I think me and my mom are going to be fighting over the book when it comes out.
Did you see Lifetime's new Blue lagoon movie loosely reminds me of On The Island. But two teens but. Much of it sounds like this book

I will post more tomorrow when I have finished it. I look forward to discussions with anyone that wants to read it.
