I hate that I just made a reference to something that happened eighteen years ago...

Tell me about it. Try talking to teenagers, sometimes, and watch your references get a lot of blank looks.They don't even know who The Fonz is.
:::weeps silently:::
Suddenly my favorite tunes are "old school". If someone doesn't know "what a Boba Fett is", am I allowed to punch them? Or would it be more appropriate to punch the parents for their negligence?
I'll never forget the day my daughter (age 8) and I were walking through town and a VW Beetle drove by. She exclaimed "Oh look, mommy, it's an old fashioned car!".I suddenly realized I had become an old person.
It's all been down hill from there. Now my daughter (age 16) tells me several times a day how my hearing and my vision are both going. Great. I'll just stock up on my Depends and have done with it.
Kids today, they don't know good music anymore. Why, just let me at 'em with my 70s pop, and my 80s new wave tunes...
It just means that Mr Death will come along soon and terminally puncture your colon with his rapier of cancer while singing "Dancing Queen." Sounds like a better way to go than 50 cent.
Um, yet none of you remembers when a bag of potato chips was a nickel. And a buffalo nickel wasn't very unusual. So I hate you all!
Rusty: the correct response to someone not knowing who "Boba Fett" is, is to beat them with your seventies era home made lightsaber. We didn't have the cool telescoping light up plastic ones. My nephews won't let me play with theirs. (So I bought my own!) Hee hee hee!"I am not immature! You stinky butt poo-poo head!"
usually she is referring to fashion. she seems to think there is a nineties fashion "look". I can't see it. Apparently I'm still in the nineties. ; )
I'm stuck in the 80's - so I think the 90's is better - at least there were no glow in the dark jelly bracelets in the 90s!
Larry wrote: "Well, IMO that's certainly better than being stuck in the seventies!"Early 70s or late 70s? Dramatically different - you go from hippy to disco. wtf is that all about? That's like cutting off the head of your king in a revolution and a short time late crowning someone Emperor, and THEN when the emperor doesn't work out, bring back the king!
But I digress...

I loved those fricking rubber bracelets! I have always been addicted to chewing on things and they were perfect. You could chew them with your molars while the back of your mouth, so rarely stimulated, crunched bracelets between the toothless gums behind your wisdom teeth. If you don't have an oral fixation, you'll never understand. Those bracelets in your mouth = heaven.
It's true. Rubber bracelets in your mouth was fantastic.I changed my av to reflect my current favorite bracelet that I wear almost every day. It was handmade by a local artist!
That avatar just makes me want to peace out.
