I have to be a chess coach in four hours or so, but I just came from a party and I don't know where my phone is. Maybe in Brian's truck? Maybe in the bar? All I know is that my phone is the ONLY alarm clock I have, and therefore I can't sleep because I have to stay awake until it's time to go to the chess tournament--otherwise I'll surely sleep in. I want to sleep, but what the hell can I do? This is not grown-up behavior.

Novi Bobby I feel your pain Sarah... My phone is my only alarm clock too. It drives me crazy when I can't locate my phone.

message 4: by Tom (new)

Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) I have a programmable tv. Back when i used to watch tv, i would sometimes program my tv to turn on at a certain time, and sleep on the couch...

Chloe (countessofblooms) Sarah, adulthood is over-rated. Don't give up your membership to Never Never Land.

message 6: by Charissa (new)

Charissa (dakinigrl) you can buy an alarm clock from a dime store for like $6. Perhaps that could be a whole thing. XOXO

Don't go changing, lovely. You are perfect, just as you are.

Oh my gosh, I forgot that I wrote that. I'm never drinking, again.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Pretty good spelling for a drunk person, though.

message 9: by Dave (new)

Dave Russell Did you find you phone?

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, it was at Shelley's. Thanks for asking.

message 11: by Dave (new)

Dave Russell I'm bored.

message 12: by Tracy (new)

Tracy aw, sarah. too bad you live all the way over in oregon, or else i'd help you out. we have, like 3 alarm clocks. this is what happens when you each move every 3 months for 3 years i guess.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

I hate alarm clocks. I can never find the right one. Either they're battery charged, and I can't trust that the batteries won't run out, or they're electric and I can't trust that our breakers won't go in the night (my house was built in the 40s and is kinda high maintenance). I like how the wind-up kind look, but I can't stand the ticking. I hate if they give off too much light, I hate if they don't have a giant, fail-proof snooze button. Etcetera. So I haven't bought one since my last two let me down because none of them are right.

Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) I use my phone and a plug in alarm clock, and set both. The plug in one is across the room so i have to get out of bed to turn it off. It's a clock radio, and i keep it tuned to a country station so I know for sure i won't ignore it. The phone i keep by the bed. I set both, one so i get the idea that it's getting close to time to get up and one so that i actually get up. Also don't have to worry about that power/batter outage thing you were talking about.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, that's what I should do.

message 16: by Charissa (new)

Charissa (dakinigrl) I have this very small battery operated alarm clock that I got at the drug store. the battery lasts forever because it's really small and analog. Easy to set, easy to turn off. Never gets screwed up from the power going out. I can travel with it. Seriously. Highly recommended.

Rusty (rustyshackleford) | 2198 comments Tambo, I can give you a wakeup call if you like. That would be 2 or 3am your time, so you'd have plenty of time to get ready for work.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm probably still up at that time!

No, not most nights.

Actually, I always have my phone, which is very reliable. I just lost track of it on Friday night because I drank 5 glasses of wine, 3 porters and 2 bloody marys.

message 19: by Tom (new)

Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) And a partridge in a pear tree.

message 20: by Joe (new)

Joe (joediver50) I was just about to say that Tom.

message 21: by Tom (new)

Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) Why would you say that Tom? Seems kind of random.

message 22: by Tom (new)

Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) Goosnargh.

message 23: by Rusty (new)

Rusty (rustyshackleford) | 2198 comments The "goosnargh" I can understand, but the "pleep" seems uncalled-for.

message 24: by Tom (new)

Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) That Rusty.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't consume partridge. Or any birds, for that matter.

message 26: by Tom (new)

Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) No Wild Turkey?

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Definitely not.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

(anymore)

message 29: by Tom (new)

Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) I wonder if there is actually a mixed drink called a Partridge in a Pear tree. Not enough to actually investigate, but i do wonder. I bet there is, and i bet it's vile.

message 31: by Tom (new)

Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) Looks pretty vile to me.

message 32: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) I've never even heard of pear liqueur. Pear vodka maybe, but not liqueur.
