I really need to finish the book ... not to say it was 'boring' but the philosophical stuff just kept going and going and I was waiting for something to happen - I will definitely finish it, so many people have said amazing things about it.

Yes, I read it but a looong time ago...maybe in my teens (that's why I don't have it my shelves.) I should probably read it again but I don't remember how it ends. But I remember liking it even if it's REALLY creepy - and this guy becomes a serial murderer.

My husband is at the park (1/2 a block a way) with the kids! He walked there (on crutches), I am so excited for him and us! Definite improvement.
Stacia, I haven't read that book. Sorry.

My first thought was that he was HER twin and thus forbidden. But I guess Silhouette doesn't roll that way.

Those are just funny!!
Yay!! Regina, he's taking the kids to the park. How exciting.
My MIL is here with our niece and we're taking the kids to this sand bottom swimming area today. It's not going to be too hot so I hope they have fun!
I'm still working my way through

LOL! I'd say though that I prefer "Coming Soon" than the guy in the turtleneck.

I'm on chapter 3 Leea, but I'll be reading here in a moment as soon as I can at work.

Hahaa DG. :) Quick business v. yellow turtlneck .. hmmmmm???

Regina, I was thinking Chess will drive her crazy too.

I think that I equated reading romance with embarrassment and a little bit of shame because of the ripped off covers and my mother's teasing. I don't have any friends in "real life" that actually read the romance genre - other then the book that shall not be named - I think that when I discovered this site, i felt so excited at the thought of meeting other "smutty girls" and making friends and talking about books...
I'm not really sure what the point of all this is. I guess reading is such a big part of who I am and sometimes it feels like nobody reads anymore or they say they do but only because they WANT to define themselves as a reader. It's nice to be part of a community.

I'm LOL'ing @ your mother asking you if you knew what "thrust" and "penetrate" meant. We all have some smutty traits in all of us here ;)
OT....I'm streaming the Olympic Opening Ceremony. I'm loving the different eras that has been shown. Especially some that reminded me of the historical romance novels that I love so much!

I have stuff I have to get finished over the weekend because it's the end of the month but if you do it next week, I'd consider joining you.

Fever overall is my favorite UF, but I think these two have stronger starts. The world is just so crazy unique in both of them.

I read it a few years ago after my Mother in law, who is a scrub nurse, told me in horrid detail what they do to donor cadavers. It was so disturbing, I almost removed my donor sticker.
This time I listened to the audiobook, so that I could work on projects around the house while I listened. I loved it more as an audiobook then I did actually reading it.
I think I want to donate my body to a forensic body farm

Wendy I so agree with you. I loved the first one of both Kate Daniels and Unholy Ghosts, I just know many people need to push through. If you are liking the freaky Downside world you are in for a great ride! I love Kane's imagination. She created such an amazing world.

I didn't get a chance to read but a chapter today. There's always tomorrow. I'm afraid I wond be done in time to buddy read another book on Sunday. Yikes!

We had it playing in the background while we were doing other stuff and it was horrible. Worst opening ceremonies ever.
Finished

It was boring and ALL over the place. It needed BIG explanations by the announcers of everything that was occurring. I told my husband that the guy who came up with that (who's supposedly a movie director) cannot be a good storyteller because when you have a BILLION people tuning in, you're supposed to put together a story that people can enjoy without a running commentary. And the business of the healthcare? WTH?
