Regina (reginar) Well since I am married that ship has sailed. :) Choose carefully Marcella -- it is always an option! ;)

So true! The only problem is in Southern California all the rich guys want petite blonds with big boobs. I am not blond nor am I petite (weight wise), but I do have big boobs.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) With big books? I am so getting me a sugar daddy!

message 3405: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Meant to say boobs...sorry I fixed it.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I know you did. I was just having fun. I am all over the big books thing. Although, I do happen to have big boobs as well...wonder if that's a bonus?

message 3407: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) haha Stacia!

Marcella - move! I remember a friend told me that she met someone from NYC at a bar in Chicago and this woman from NYC was so excited because she said, "wow the women here are 10 pounds heavier than they are in NYC _- I am easily the skinniest one here." And then since then that same friend of mine works in both LA and Chicago, she said that in her opinion, the ideal in CA is 20lbs less than in Chicago. So the moral of the story is - move to Chicago. :)

the boobs yes the books no, lol. I once had a date cancel on me b/c I told him I would meet him after I went to a book fair (this was when I was living in Albuquerque and I was young and single). I remember his shock and disgust at the idea that I was going to a book fair. He had asked me out while I was waitingressing (I was in grad school -- he was in a band). I had (still have, lol) big boobs, apparantly he didn't want big books. :)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) They rarely do, Regina. It always comes back to the same thing.

message 3410: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) And the ones that care about the books -- are really excited that a girl that likes books has big boobs.

I know you were silly. It took me a minute to figure out what you meant by books until I re-read my post. Duh me! I am not sure if big boobs are a bonus. I don't like it when men talk to my chest and not my face.

The size of your screen.

Really windy, hot and humid in the summer and ass kicking cold in the winter. Does that pretty much sum it up?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I had a few guys send me naked pics (unwanted...long story) and the size of the screen can often amplify flaws you really don't want to see.

ewwwwww. I had a guy leave a naked picture in a book he was returning to me in the hopes that would convince me to go out with him again. Bleh -- that was an unwanted surpirse, thankfully he was just posing and not in a swing.

I hate the heat and don't like humidity. It has been like that the past few days here and I am miserable. Besides, I would need to find a job before even thinking about moving.

And those are the guys you see at comic book stores wearing sweat pants and a flash t-shirt. LOL!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I'm actually liking the Quinn book so far from what I've read but my mind doesn't seem to want to focus on a HR right now, so I'm going to push it back another day and start Trafficked The Terrifying True Story of a British Girl Forced into the Sex Trade by Sophie Hayes instead. Maybe I'm still in the mood for something dark.

Do you I really want to know the circumstances of that happening?

message 3428: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) OF course we do!!

I am halfway through A Thousand Lives The Untold Story of Hope, Deception, and Survival at Jonestown by Julia Scheeres which was an impulse by during a sale at audible.com. I never knew the details of the Jonestown massacre/suicide and I guess recently the FBI released over 50,000 pages of notes and diaries of the members who died -- which the author is basing this book on. It is fascinating, but so disturbing. Jones had such a scary level of control over everyone that was not truly voluntary.

Broken Harbor is soooooo goood!!! Broken Harbour (Dublin Murder Squad, #4) by Tana French

message 3429: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Don't tease me with that book, Regina!!

message 3430: by Leea (new)

Leea Marcella... Share :)

A thousand Lives looks fascinating. I cannot wait for your review and am so glad you're enjoying it.

I finished Defiant (MacKinnon's Rangers, #3) by Pamela Clare and it was beautiful. The story is not over but we got some closure and i'm so interested to see what will become of the Rangers. I believe Clare has plans to write William and Joseph's stories. I cannot wait!!

No clue what i'm going to read next. Maybe something short and light. Off to make 48 mini cupcakes... yikes!

SANDRA (smilleysandy) | 88 comments I feel like I haven't been here in like FOREVER!!! lol

I am reading Once Burned (Night Prince, #1) by Jeaniene Frost , Black Ships (Numinous World, #1) by Jo Graham and The Last Boyfriend (Inn BoonsBoro, #2) by Nora Roberts all of them are wonderful at the moment. Black Ships is actually taking me by surprise on how original and creative it is. :) totally suggest reading it ladies!! :)

D.G. I thought of Stacia too as I read that. Terrible, terrible thing!

And people don't think we need gun control. It seems any schmuck can get their hands on automatic weapons and shoot innocent people!

Regina (reginar) god, kids were killed. How could people protect themselves?

message 3440: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments It's so sickening. Those poor people!! They had no way of knowing that that was going to happen. I was tearing up this morning watching an interview of someone that was there. It's just so awful!

message 3441: by SANDRA (new)

SANDRA (smilleysandy) | 88 comments I agree there are too many sickos out there that have too easy access to weapons.. My heart is wrenching thinking of those people and their families, o poor children.

message 3442: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I heard about this this morning too, it just sickens me. Absolutely sickens me. If there's any beings in this world that should be safe from crime, it should be children. It's just awful, sick and wrong.

message 3443: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Finally made it through Battle Royale by Koushun Takami . I need a rest. Nowhere near the emotional punch of HG, maybe because of the enormous cast of characters.

message 3444: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Also read the first two in the Rock Chick series. Thought the first one was super fun. Loved Lee and could deal with Indy. But the second one? I wanted to punch Jet. So good. So selfless. So much doo-da quivering. Gag. And Eddie was a just an imitation of Lee.

That said, I really want to read Ally's story. And Darius' wherever it is. So yes, will keep reading the series.

message 3445: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments As far as I know there isn't a book on Ally or Darius. Maybe the author will write them. I've read up to number 6, which was Mace's book.

Just and FYI Tellulah, all the guys are Lee like. They are badass motherf*ckers. Love em all!

I felt the same way about Jet. I really hated the second book and loved the 3rd and 4th. I just finished the 5th one and it was okay. I hear 6 &7 are amazing. I plan on reading the rest of the series soon. I just need to take a break from them for awhile.

message 3448: by Leea (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Tellulah...they are distinctly badass in their own way. They are similiar to Lee only in the way of how they don't waste time staking their claim.

Leea...its great news that there's going to be a book on Ally. I really fell in love with her love interest. So excited about that one.
