Have a fairly lengthy list of WWII/Holocast novels to enjoy...I've started
. So far, it seems this will be a quick but very sad read. It's such a difficult period to immerse myself in, book after book. I need a 'lite' break inbetween to breathe! I loved

because it told a side of WWII that we didn't know much about.

The story is very different from Outlander. The books are mainly compared because of the big romance.

I hate when the hero/boyfriend turns into a dad insisting that the female eat and sleep when he thinks she should and he treats her like a child in everything. And the details are so irrelevant and over the top. The first 30% of the book was fabulous but not it is dragging. But I can't dnf it since I am reading it for bingo and I have already read over 300 pages. This book is so long.

Marcella I think Summer Fridays don't exist in law firms -- or are hard to come by in law firms. :) I know of businesses in Chicago that do it. My current firm offers early dismissal for secretaries on fridays in summer on a rotating basis and I know of one law firm that has fridays off entirely during the summer (super small estate and trust law firm).
I have never heard of Summer Friday's relating to a day off. Must be an East Coast thing :) Sounds awesome D.G. Sorry you'll miss the day off but hope you get another soon. I think it's more of an industry thing. I know it's a common perk in a lot of Advertising Agencies (that's where I worked last). Not sure why they do it in this one though...maybe because it's a European company.

Yup, in both companies I've worked it's only during the Summer. It's also offered as a yearly perk, meaning that they can take it away if they deem it necessary. But I've had them in the last 8-9 summers.
