'Ruminate' - yep, that's the exact word. I was listening to Agatha Christie last night and it's so good because it doesn't matter if I fall asleep, I can just listen to it again tomorrow! It's the exact opposite to what I am reading at the moment.
One day I might experiment by reading something a chapter at a time and then listening to it chapter by chapter afterwards.
Yes, you've got to get a good narrator and one who can do different characters well.

so sorry Anna for the delayed response. Meme is totally cool or Domino. i love both names.
u know, i remember the days when i would go to Half Priced Books and purchase two or three books i saw recommended here on goodreads. or just pick up some book based on the cover and title. i'd also pick up classics too. i have a few Hardy's in my closet now and Austen. of course Bronte too. hehe. it's a shame i haven't read more Hardy. i've just gotten so emersed in smut, historical romance, paranormal romance and such; it's ridiculous.
i mean, i love what i read, it's just i miss the old days =D

I looked through my bookcases the other day and saw at least 20 books I really want to read and can't find the time. Annoying. But I keep adding to the queue on my Kindle as well!
I've just remembered what this thread is for - I've just finished reading The Trouble with Time
It was recommended to me by Amazon and I've read most of the author's books so I eagerly started on this one too. Sci-fi, future time travel, is not my usual sort of thing but the author makes it all so real. Great. I was sorry when it ended!

my last read was Mister O. it was a first read for the author. not bad. trying to decide what to read next.

I read it with a grin on my face.
LOL funny and sexy as hell...

I finished Vacca's previous book, Freedom Calling and thoroughly enjoyed it. And The Edge of Freedom has definitely hooked me completely! The history of the US Civil War era is accurate (I'm a Civil War buff!)

It's about an escaped slave, but the story is not the usual fare, and is as exciting as it is spiritual and inspirational!
Vivid characters that you can laugh, love and cry with!
I give a thumbs up both books.

I am currently reading "Hopeless" by Colleen Hoover.

totally. and from ur message i've decided to read Hardy's books in print. i was gonna give audio a try for his, but i want to ruminate his writing. hehe. and hopefully i'll get back to reading my books in print. of late it's just been audiobooks. and before i refused to read e-books and audio. i've gotten pretty lazy of late.
i miss the smell of books and holding back from flipping ahead and see how things turned out. that's probably the one plus with audio. i can't fast forward cause i'll get lost. hehe
i'll also get my speed back once i start reading print again. the only series so far i wont by audio is Game of Thrones and Outlander. i can't stand the narrator's accents. just terrible. hehe. i'd rather imagine the cool accents =D
