Is it pathetic I'm considering staying up till midnight to start? Yeah, it is, isn't it?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I wish my head wasn't so congested. I'm about to start it but don't think I'll get too far.

Lori, the author of EiT has two other series in progress as well. Sins & Needles is pretty good and I'm working on her book The Devil's Metal at the moment, which I can't tell if I like yet.

A solo vacation? That sounds wonderful.

message 7953: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I just started! It came early at around 11:30 am. :)

If you are pathetic then I am too!

Stacia I hope you feel better.

message 7954: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I'm reading Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11) by J.R. Ward . *squeal* and I love how this is that one time a year when the majority of my goodreads friends are reading the same book regardless of what genres they usually read.

message 7955: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) You are right Kay. I love to share this! I have a local friend reading it too. When she fell in love with 50 shades I told her I had another series she would love - and she was a goner for the brothers. :)

This book is so long too. I love that.

message 7956: by Leea (new)

Leea You guys are killing me... I need to get the kids to school and do preschool story time but I just want to get my hands on lover at Last. Ahh!!

message 7957: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) AH! It's killing me too! It's so hard not to just go buy it, but I have it coming in hardback. I want it on my kindle, lmao!

Me too. I got a friend into BDB bc she was really into twilight. Now, she preorders every BDB book and she even text me to remind me when Lover at Last will be released. As if I didn't know already. LOL

message 7959: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Happy Reading everyone. I have to volunteer in my son's class today and then I have to work. So, I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

message 7960: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) That is the same as my friend! She loved twilight too. :) We were emailing last night about whether we should start reading or sleep (it was 11:35). IT was funny b/c I finished a very short story and closed it out and at that very moment Lover at Last downloaded. I think it was funny b/c I had chosen short stories to keep me busy until it came. :D

Enjoy your day ladies!

message 7961: by Leea (new)

Leea My best buddy and I read the BDB books together and would chat about them on our early morning runs... so fun!! I can't wait for her to read this one so we can talk about it.

Okay, finally got home and now i'm reading to jump right into Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11) by J.R. Ward I really should be cleaning but what the heck...

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Finishing up Love and Skate (Love and Skate, #1) by Lila Felix . Meh.

Starting Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11) by J.R. Ward

message 7963: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11) by J.R. Ward Too many other storylines so far. Yeah, I'm so in this book for one reason only...

message 7964: by Leea (new)

Leea Amen Tallulah. I second that. Haha. I'm to 12%

message 7965: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I am at 9%. Definitely too much angst so far. I hope it isn't 550 pages of angst!

message 7966: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) LMAO, I have to agree. More Blay & Q, please. (At 36%)

message 7967: by Angie Elle (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 602 comments I'm reading Hopeless (Hopeless, #1) by Colleen Hoover , and I love it so far!

message 7968: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) So my question about Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11) by J.R. Ward is - my memory of the other romances in BDB is that they got more book time. Am I remembering this correctly or is it just me wishing there had been more Blay and Qhuinn?

I finished the book but am currently at a loss for how I want to rate it. Must think over.

message 7969: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I am only at 20% but that is my impression so far tellulah. I also am not really enjoying it yet. I want to though. I look forward to you rating/review.

message 7970: by Leea (new)

Leea Angie wrote: "I'm reading Hopeless (Hopeless, #1) by Colleen Hoover, and I love it so far!"

That has been on my Kindle for so long... I need to read it. Can't wait to see what you think Angie :)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I finished the BDB book last night but haven't had a chance to review or rate it yet, either. I don't think there's less romance but the side stories were really boring to me, other than xcor/layla. Will read the BDB topic later when I have time.

message 7972: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Hate to say it, but I, too, am unsure about Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11) by J.R. Ward . I have to say that I wasn't blown away or totally into the book like I thought I would be. I kept reading it because I *hoped* to be.

Back to Wilde Thing (Wilde Series, #1) by Janelle Denison and Out of Control (Troubleshooters, #4) by Suzanne Brockmann ... and the other books waiting patiently on my TBR shelf.

message 7973: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) OK, another Goodreads friend got me into yet another PNR series, the Elemental Mysteries series. Got through the 1st book A Hidden Fire (Elemental Mysteries, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter and now starting into book 2 This Same Earth (Elemental Mysteries, #2) by Elizabeth Hunter . The books aren't super long, but I like the characters and the plot. The author did these as self-published on Kindle, and yet I'm not plagued with tons of errors - surprise! (And the 1st book was free!)

I know, I know... I've got plenty of other books on the TBR list and Troubleshooters #4 and Wilde #1 just waiting to be finished! I think because these books are shorter (<300 pages), they seem more readable right now.

PLUS, I really will have to go back to Lover At Last in a week or so and re-read it. I fear I didn't give the book it's due, because I raced through it. As I read the various commentaries by folks, including ya'll who got me into the series in the first place, I realize that I rushed my reading and harshed on the book. I do *like* the book, and even after a 2nd read, I'm not sure if it'll be my favorite of the bunch; but it's a good book. I think that whole anticipation and now having to wait for who-know-how-long got me. (I'm sure that I'll hate MOBY on the first reading, too!)

message 7974: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments I am really discouraged to read Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11) by J.R. Ward .

message 7975: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Don't be, Marcella. I think the waiting/anticipating a book is the toughest thing ever... I'm not good at waiting!!!!

It's a GOOD BOOK!!! And if you love the BDB, you'll like reading it - or even better.

message 7976: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments I just have high hopes for this one. I have been waiting for this one for so long. I am Team Qhuay all the way!!!

message 7977: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Mar 28, 2013 10:50AM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I have heard nothing but good things about that series, even from picky friends. I think I'd gotten the first as a freebie a while back, so I should move it up the list.

I am going to try to finish up Clockwork Princess today since I have a few pages left, but I'm stuck with which book I'm going to read next. Today had been a prescheduled buddy read that I decided to cancel because I knew I would be in and out sleeping off the last of this crap.

So I'm debating between
Smart Girls Get What They Want by Sarah Strohmeyer and Twice Tempted (Night Prince, #2) by Jeaniene Frost

Lori McD wrote: "OK, another Goodreads friend got me into yet another PNR series, the Elemental Mysteries series. Got through the 1st book A Hidden Fire (Elemental Mysteries, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter and now starting into book 2 [bookcover:..."

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) And I meant the series that Lori linked. I had quoted her then typed underneath, but GR seems to eat what comes after when I do that. I thought they'd fixed that glitch because I hadn't seen it bug out in a while.

message 7979: by Regina (last edited Mar 28, 2013 10:58AM) (new)

Regina (reginar) Marcella don't wait, start it. :)

Stacia -- about Frost's book (I never read #1) ...I just heard from the library that Once Burned (Night Prince, #1) by Jeaniene Frost is waiting for me -- you all liked that book a lot right? I never finished the main series as the series sort of peetered out for me. But I am hopeful for this book.

I am not going to wait, now I just scared to. Ha ha!

I loved the first book in Vlad's series. He is definitely a different Vlad than what I saw in Night Huntress.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I have not read Night Huntress past book 5. I still have not read the Night Huntress world books.

Vlad's book was better than the last couple of NH books but not on the level of the early NH stuff. I liked it well enough but wasn't bowled over. I just went back and looked at my notes and it appears that I was already questioning how well the chemistry would hold up for several books.

message 7982: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments I really enjoyed the Night Huntress World books.

I agree Stacia. The NH books haven't been the same since book 3. After that they were sketchy. But I read them anyways because I am infatuated with Bones. Ha ha!

message 7983: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Mar 28, 2013 12:26PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I'm gonna go ahead and start the NP book. I just skimmed a few pages of the smart girls book and it might not be what I'm in the mood for, although I'll have to try it again sometime. I love that whole 'smart bitches' theme, where women use all of their assets to get ahead, including their brains.

message 7984: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Well if I had to pick between smart bitches and Vlad, Vlad wins hands down.

message 7985: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I didn't enjoy any of the NH books but I was judging them by the earlier books by frost.

message 7986: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Regina wrote: "I didn't enjoy any of the NH books but I was judging them by the earlier books by frost."

None at all? The stories weren't the best but Bones's sexiness is worth the effort.

message 7987: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) The Night Huntress series looks good - might give it a read... Do I have to read all the NH books before the Night Prince books?

message 7988: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Did you all see this?!! Amazon is buying Goodreads: http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.z...

message 7989: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Marcella, I thought they were sexy but not great content. I think I read the first two and gave them each 3 stars and didn't read the 3rd (there was a 3r right?)

message 7990: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Regina wrote: "Did you all see this?!! Amazon is buying Goodreads: http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.z..."

Wow! That's awesome news for goodreads. I hope this is good news for the end user. I just hope the changes that happen will benefit us in the long run b/c I love goodreads!

message 7991: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Wow... Amazon buying Goodreads? Makes total sense, especially with the new online tax that's going through. I know there are a lot of Nook owners out there, too, but as far as I know, most ebook readers are either using a Kindle device (like me) or a Kindle reader. Why not make it that much easier to get books and rate books?

Then again, it could be the beginning of the apocalypse! ;-)

There have been 6 books.

message 7995: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Marcella wrote: "What?...people are leaving? What is going on?"

No one's leaving. Regina posted that goodreads was acquired by Amazon. I don't know if this is good or bad and what that means for us users in the future. I'm just saying...that's all.

message 7996: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Oh wow! That is interesting news.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) People are freaking out in the feedback group.

I'm not happy about the news. Amazon censors reviews more than GR does, and they have even more rampant self-promotion spam. They've already made a comment about how this will bring more unknown authors to the masses, which means they want GR for expanded selling potential.

message 7998: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Wow I had no idea what the impact would be. Not sure I like that at all. I hate spam. Pisses me off.
