I do highly recommend

I'm currently reading

How do you guys feel about either this Friday or next Monday for Shadow Reader? I know weekends are a bust for most people, but I figure Friday is safe because if someone thinks they'll take more than a day, they can always start late Thursday or something.

Oh bummer, it picks up. Nina describes everything :)
D.G. I've tried to read

Kay, Oh do share what you think of Tall Dark and Lonely? That author is on my radar right now. :)
Finished

I finished

Now most likely I'll switch to print for

No, I was waiting for you :) Let me know if you want to read that together. Saw a new Robyn Carr, Virgin River book is out tomorrow. That women writes fast :)

Gotta finish

So is that a go then? Or do you need to hold off until later?
Courtney, you're welcome to join us if we end up doing the book.

Regina! Do you want to wait until Saturday to see if we can fit it with Bingo or can you start on Thursday?

I'm going to probably be starting Me Before You later on Tuesday since I have to be gone for most of tomorrow, unless we get done early. But I'll still be reading it - just a bit later in the day.

Then Shadow Reader on Thursday.

My goal is to start Thursday. Hopefully I can. I don't have a strong urge to go back to The Gamble (sorry Stacia), but I am only 10% in.

If only we could run together and chat books :) That's what my girlfriend and I used to do before she go knocked up. haha!

Unless the last 40% of the book wows me, I might be looking at about a 2 to 2.5 star rating. I was warned though that this was one of her early books and that her skill set has improved quite a bit since then, so I'm willing to give the next book in the series a chance, especially since I keep being told repeatedly that the hero is going to be one I'll love.
KA has good ideas but she needs to tighten up her writing a bit. Okay, she needs to tighten it up a lot. This book could have easily been condensed by half and it would have been twice as good.
Unless it's Outlander or an epic fantasy book, there's never any reason for a romance to be 1700 pages.

Alphas who are protective and slightly possessive are sexy. That's why I love BDB alphas. The protective nature and the "mine" thing is hot.
Alphas who want to control your every movement are not sexy. That's why I struggled with Knight. I would have taken the bedroom version of him in a heartbeat because his dirty talk is off the charts, but outside of the bedroom? Not on your life.

Knight is a whole other ball game, he's controlling in every aspect and the bedroom dirty talk is on fire... Babe!

I'm not getting updates... again. GR is starting to really piss me off.

Good to know, Aestas. I just hope there's a HEA.

Nope! Lol absolutely nothing I've ever heard of even remotely compares to TBH :p
Seriously though, it's unlike anything I've ever read. I have absolutely no comparison point. It's one of those ones where the guys who are technically the bad guys (and for example, just shoot a 17 yr old kid for messing up a drug deal) turn around and offer kind, sound, understanding fatherly advice ... Just for example. You don't know who to like and who to hate and it's really cool cuz it becomes all a matter of perspective and there is no right answer.... Their romance started out really cute but now it's starting to get a little hot too. It's not super graphic so far but it's also deeeeefinitely not YA - kinda in the middle... So far, if it continues being as good as it has been, Id definitely recommend reading it.
But it's quite long!! I think it's like 600 pages or something. But it's kinda nice cuz it gives more character development....
There is a HEA :) I always check first! But it's open for more to happen and there is a sequel being written. But as far as I know, it's HEA. And if it's not, imma be pissed LoL

NOOOOO. :( I'm sad now. Thanks for letting us know Kay. I will be staying away from it now.
I finished The Gamble and have mixed feelings. It was far too long and far too much was going on BUT I did think Max was such a great character.
Next book up will be

Then I started two books:

So I am conflicted. Should i conjnue with the gamble or skip to sweet dreams? I like KA's voice as a writer which is important but if it isn't important to the plot I am not in for extraneous side stories. Does she do wide stories like virgin river or Troubleshooters or BDB? Or just different?
Leea what do you think of Wildman Creek so far? I am really liking it.

So, I started

Here is what I like about Kristen Ashley's Writing:
1. She takes women, leaves them alone and writes males who love real women.
2. Although, most of the males she writes are alpha they are also very sweet and just want to take care of their women.
3. Like Carr, Ashley is able to write female relationships very acuratly. In most of her books the women have a group of friends that they confide in, have drinks and make time for each other.
4. Each character has bagage. It's not pretty but it's real and how they work this out is facinating to me.
Should you skip The Gamble? that's up to you. You can skip it without missing much of the next storyline :)
