Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Regina, it's a fun title but the story itself was okay.

Leea, what are you in the mood for? I hate reading funks b/c I have so many!

Great review Stacia. I can't wait to read this one!

Lori (lorimcd) Happy 2013 everyone! Been buried in trying to get some house chores done before going back to work. Still need to take down our Christmas decorations!

Starting The Seduction of Elliot McBride (Highland Pleasures, #5) by Jennifer Ashley this evening... not sure why we're starting into the McBride family when we still have Inspector Fellowes and Daniel yet on the Mackenzie side. But love these books! A Mackenzie Family Christmas The Perfect Gift (Highland Pleasures, #4.5) by Jennifer Ashley was really a great book - not terribly short, either! Whet my appetite for the next one, that just released before new years.

I loved it. The first few chapters are confusing, but the rest of the story is incredible. You know I rarely give out 5 stars but this book deserved it because I fell in love with the characters. This author even managed to make me enjoy things that might have been a little overwritten or cliche, which is rare.

Starting Desire Unchained (Demonica, #2) by Larissa Ione for a buddy read.

We just finished painting our kitchen and will be moving on to the dining room area. It's amazing how just slapping on a fresh coat of paint can really change a room, even if you can't do anything else.

Courtney | 337 comments Just finished Mind Games (The Disillusionists Trilogy, #1) by Carolyn Crane and it was a very unique urban fantasy! I might continue the series.

I might start on On the Prowl by Patricia Briggs and then Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #1) by Patricia Briggs .

message 6459: by Leea (new)

Leea Hi Laura!!

Yeah, just painting can change a room... bathroom is almost done. I'll post a picture later.

I even redid the entry way, bought a new mirror and did a little display for my sons 5th birthday at the end of the month. So exciting!

Started Afterbirth and I just love it. I cannot wait to see what happens, i'm already to chap 8 and 22% into it.

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) I've finished reading What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty by Liane Moriarty. I really loved this novel! The plot was very intriguing, compelling and well-written with an interesting and unique premise. I loved the author's writing style. The story was very funny and some parts were quite touching and made me want to cry. The characters were all well-developed, vivid and believable. I found it easy to relate to Alice and the other characters. I was unable to put this book down for long. I was desperate to find out what was going to happen next! I gave it 5 stars!
My full view is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Now I'm about to start The Dressmaker by Kate Alcott by Kate Alcott.

message 6476: by Leea (new)

Leea I'm still slowly reading the aftertime series, Rebirth and I love it!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I've finished Stolen Nights (Vampire Queen, #2) by Rebecca Maizel and Desire Unchained (Demonica, #2) by Larissa Ione and both were decent, but neither one bowled me over. SN had a slight edge with an ending that was a bit of a head trip and left me wanting to know what happened next.

Starting Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky, #2) by Veronica Rossi

message 6479: by Ridh (new)

Ridh (jaan123) | 19 comments I read it a while back. It was a random-off-the-library-shelf read. I wasn't blown out of the water but the plot isn't one that you find often and that gave it some points.

message 6480: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Yay Leea! I am glad you are loving it. I have to warn you, the beginning of Horizon is rough for some reason. People who loved the series and ended up loving Horizon, struggled with the first 20%. I actually put it down for months. But it is worth pushing through.

I just read last night Rock Me (Ross Siblings, #2) by Cherrie Lynn , it was hot and I liked it. The angst and family drama was a little much and a little unbelievable though. But when I want another hot read, I will read the next one most definitely! Brian was a hottie.

I finished Fly on the Wall How One Girl Saw Everything by E. Lockhart and loved it! 4 stars, not as good as the Ruby Oliver series, but still good and it was short.

I think I wil read next Sparks (Anya Kalinczyk, #2) by Laura Bickle which is the author of The Hallowed Ones (The Hallowed Ones, #1) by Laura Bickle and I am trying to decide what to listen to next.

message 6481: by Regina (new)

hey Angie,
i've read Vlad's book and i liked it, but there were some things i disliked in the book that would've made it better. for one Vlad seemed so different from Night Huntress. it was like he was a new character that i hadn't seen before. the other thing was he was too arrogant. i got used to it eventually, but it was distracting in the beginning.
his love interest was good and they seemed to fit (almost too perfectly, but what can u say. hehe) they had good chemistry.
i still think it worth a read and plus it ends with u knowing there is more to come. so maybe as Frost writes more in this series it'll get better and i'll get more comfortable with this Vlad. hehe

Regina (reginar) I loved that scene! You are echoing my thoughts exactly when I read that. ;)

I read Evan and Kelsey's story after Rock Me and didn't like it. I'd say skip it and go right to Ghost and Macy.

Her writing improved with book 3. There's less whiplash angst. I thought it was a better story than Rock Me, but still love Brian as my favorite character.

Brian and Candace have a sweet story in a Christmas anthology I recently read. It was the perfect ending to their story, but it takes place after Ghost and Macy's book.

message 6486: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Thank you Stacia! I will follow your advice. Is the short christmas story this: A Very Naughty Xmas (Ross Siblings, #3.5)(One Night with Sole Regret, #0.5) by Stephanie Julian ?

I decided to listen to Tempted (Alex Kennedy, #1) by Megan Hart It is my first Megan Hart book. I am always on the lookout for a decent polyamory/menage book.

I finished it and it was pretty good. I do think the ending was drawn out, but like you, I liked the overall plot.

Up next for me is A Lady Awakened (Blackshear Family, #1) by Cecilia Grant . I've heard such good things about this book, I fear my debit card is about to get a workout with her backlist. Luckily this one was available for electronic loan from my library.

message 6491: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Thanks Angie. :) My overdrive/electronic library has a lot of her books too.

I am liking Tempted so far. I like the character development and the story. I tend to like darker storylines so Megan Hart is working for me right now.

message 6500: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I finished Tempted (Alex Kennedy, #1) by Megan Hart and I really liked it. I can see why some people wouldn't. It definitely isn't a perfect HEA or escapism. The book is really dark and not romantic. But I loved it. Hart showed how a threesome can really play with people's emotions and potentially wreck a marriage. It was done really well. And the charcter development was nice and thorough. I am definitely looking more into her stuff. The narration was only okay, which made the sex scenes just okay -- which is funny. I didn't find the sex scenes very sexy -- which again is funny given the genre of this book. But I really liked the storyline and characters.

I am now listening to Then Came You by Lisa Kleypas
