Leea Oh, I still need to read Blood Red Road. I hope the second book is good :)

message 5302: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I finished See Jane Score (Chinooks Hockey Team, #2) by Rachel Gibson which is a fun, sexy sports romance and I enjoyed it.

I'm reading Born in Fire (Born In Trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts with Leea now.

message 5303: by Leea (new)

Leea Yay! I've read about 35% and I like it. I cant wait to chat with you about it :)

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

I really hope that one is good. I've had it sitting there waiting for me but my motivation hasn't been there. My goal is to fit it in before release date.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Regina wrote: "That series is fun. 4 was definitely my favorite, 5 was my least favorite."

I think it's interesting because a lot of people count 5 as their favorite. My favorite is definitely 4 but I did enjoy 5 almost as much.

message 5306: by [deleted user] (new)

I have been reading a lot of Kristen Ashley books. I swear I'm just going down the series line. I'm on the Burg Series right now. I'm just about to start book 2 (At Peace).

message 5307: by Regina (last edited Oct 15, 2012 08:38AM) (new)

Regina (reginar) Stacia I hope Rebel Heart is good too, I actually got distrcacted by another arc which I am enjoying Summer of the Mariposas by Guadalupe Garcia McCall

Re #5 of VA. 5 was the only one I listened to in audio and it just seemed so silly and stupid. I am a skimmer when I get to parts that I find unnecessary. So not sure that it was because I could no longer skim, or it was the narrator (I have listened to the narrator do other books and I liked her).

message 5308: by Petula (new)

Petula (petulawinmill) | 24 comments I've just started a Kathryn Le Veque book The Lady of Heaven. Contemporary romance this time but with the flavour of Ancient Eygpt. Good so far the hero is really hot.

I barely made a dent into the book. I'm only about 3 chapters in. I have to work today so I may not be able to pick it up until tonight. I'm glad to hear that you are liking it.

message 5310: by Leea (new)

Leea I finished Born in Fire (Born In Trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts and I loved the setting and Roberts writing, very beautifully descriptive.

Now i'm going to read Down to You by M. Leighton

Wendy, are we still planning to read Special Forces - Mercenaries Part I (Special Forces, #2 part 1) by Marquesate Friday? Or did I make that up in my head... haha!!

message 5311: by Jen (at last!) (last edited Oct 15, 2012 10:08PM) (new)

Jen (at last!) (jenkeith) Barbara wrote: "Anyone read a good Regency lately? So many of the newer authors don't seem to "get" the period right. While I can forgive some mistakes, when the entire book seems to resemble 21st century America ..."

I really haven't read any good Regency that were written this decade. All of the best ones seem to have been written a while ago.

I did like Lord and Lady Spy by Shana Galen . It was like a Regency Mr. & Mrs. Smith. :)

Let me know if you find any. Most people tend to like Lorraine Heath's regency series. I've only read her westerns (which I LOVED).

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) That looks like a fun book, Jen. I think I remember you mentioning it before.

Just finished Crewel (Crewel World, #1) by Gennifer Albin and I liked it overall, even though the love triangle was unnecessary and a few things confused me. It was still a fun read though, once I started to move my brain into the mode of the book being fantasy based and that I didn't need to know the answers to everything.

message 5313: by Courtney (last edited Oct 16, 2012 12:58AM) (new)

Courtney | 337 comments I'm more than halfway done with The Spymaster's Lady by Joanna Bourne and wow. The sex scene was hot!! It started off pretty slow but this scene totally makes up for it.

message 5314: by Megan (new)

I'm planning on it! I'm trying to bust through 11/22/63 by Stephen King , (which is REALLY good so far), so that I can be ready on Friday but hopefully no later than Saturday.

That seems really cute, Jen.

I'm in a hot-tattooed-man mood so I just finished Ink Lust by Jayne Kingston . Loved it - loved me some Jamie Rodriguez. Yum. Now I'm reading Hot Ink by Ranae Rose .

message 5317: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) I'm reading Promises Reveal (Promises, #4) by Sarah McCarty and I'm only in chapter 3 right now, but it's interesting so far.

I love Heath's westerns and her regencies are a hit or miss. I did really enjoy her Scoundrels series...this first book is In Bed With the Devil.

message 5322: by Lisa (new)

message 5323: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments I am seriously raring for some erotica right now.

message 5324: by Leea (new)

Leea That does sound fun :) Can't wait to see what you decide to read.

message 5325: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Haha, the problem is....I don't have any erotica on hand!

message 5326: by Leea (new)

Leea Bummer... What kind of Erotica are you looking for?

message 5327: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Umm well I think I'm looking for an erotica with a good story. Maybe similar to Mona Lisa Awakening or The Iron Duke.

message 5328: by Megan (new)

Megan | 135 comments Leea wrote: "Megan wrote: "Finished Love Drunk Cowboy (Spikes & Spurs, #1) by Carolyn Brown and currently reading Red's Hot Cowboy (Spikes & Spurs, #2) by Carolyn Brown."

They are cute. Ten pages left in
Red's Hot Cowboy (Spikes & Spurs, #2) by Carolyn Brown and I had to leave for work. My life is tough! lol

message 5329: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) So Courtney, an urban fantasy based erotica?

message 5330: by Leea (new)

Leea I cant think of any Erotica UF... I'll keep looking.

message 5331: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Regina - Something like that!

Leea - Thank you. That's all I can ask :D

And it doesn't have to be Urban Fantasy. It can be anything else, really. I'd just like it to make you have the feeling of "Wow, that's hot!" or feeling the chemistry (like between Amber and Mona Lisa).

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Finished Unwritten Rules by M.A. Stacie and it wasn't my thing. Starting Hidden (House of Night, #10) by P.C. Cast

message 5333: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) My iphone 5 just arrived! My office manager is setting it up for me!

message 5334: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Stacia...I read book 1 of HoN and I hated it! Does it get any better in the next books?

Yay, Regina! Congrats on the iPhone 5! I'm sure you'll have lots of fun enjoying the new features.

I finished Born in Fire (Born In Trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts and didn't really like it. I'm listening to the audio of Unraveling (Unraveling, #1) by Elizabeth Norris and reading The Lost Girl by Sangu Mandanna .

message 5335: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Oct 17, 2012 03:17PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Love Unraveling! I also have Lost Girl on my short list because I heard it's very good.

Uh...HoN. I disliked the first book as well. Thought the next couple were a slight improvement, then we had a few books in the middle that were complete crap. The last couple were pretty good though and this one is okay so far. I'm not regretting my decision to continue with the series because it can be fun at times, but it's definitely not a favorite. Not anything I'd go out and recommend.

message 5336: by Leea (new)

Leea Regina wrote: "My iphone 5 just arrived! My office manager is setting it up for me!"

Can't wait to hear what you think of it.

Another killer day of non stop, haven't read a word yesterday and today is not looking any better. Ugh!

message 5337: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) The browser is so crazy fast.

message 5338: by Leea (new)

Leea I bet, when I went from my 3 to 4s it was lightning fast. How's the keyboard?

message 5339: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Stacia, I'm liking Unraveling! It will probably take me days to finish the audio since I'm only listening to it at work.

message 5340: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Leea, I haven't noticed any difference from my older iPhone's keyboard -- yet.

I am just loving Rebel Heart (Dust Lands, #2) by Moira Young -- I am just home from work but now I am off to a board meeting for the local youth soccer association. At least there will be beer and snacks.

message 5341: by Leea (new)

Leea I thought it had a keyboard you could make larger - might have just made that up in my head. haha!

Mmmm... Beer!

message 5342: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Oh it might -- I haven't played with it yet. :0 Let me get back to you on that!

message 5343: by Megan (new)

Megan | 135 comments Finished Red's Hot Cowboy (Spikes & Spurs, #2) by Carolyn Brown , loved it. Started Simply Irresistible (Lucky Harbor, #1) by Jill Shalvis , so far its really good.

Hey Stacia! Why didn't you like Unwritten Rules? It's on my TBR.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) It was just a little cheesy for my tastes. Most of my friends loved the book though, so I was definitely in the minority.

message 5347: by Leea (new)

Leea I finished Down to You by M. Leighton - I hope my review was not too harsh?

Now i'm not sure what to read ATM?

message 5348: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6) by Richelle Mead done. I dunno. It wrapped up everything perfectly fine but for book five, I was hoping for more of a big emotional punch at the end. Instead it just felt like it kind of fizzled out.

message 5349: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Finished The Spymaster's Lady by Joanna Bourne and it was pretty good! I loved the sex scene ;)

While I was reading that though, I had the urge to read a fantasy book when I was done, so now I'll start Touch of Power (Healer, #1) by Maria V. Snyder but I also want to read an erotica and the one that's on my mind is The Darkest Hour (KGI, #1) by Maya Banks .

Any opinions on this one?

message 5350: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Just finished Born in Fire (Born In Trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts . I really enjoyed the characters but the story itself was ok. I thought that Maggie's profession of glass blowing was really fascinating. I found myself wanting to see her finished pieces. They seemed breathtaking.

As a sidenot, her mom is a royal bitch. I have not wanted a character to be real so I can beat their ass as I have her mother. What a piece of work.
