Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Finished Magic Burns (Kate Daniels, #2) by Ilona Andrews and I liked it better than the first book, so I'll be continuing on with the series.

message 3102: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) You seriously won't be disappointed!

message 3103: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I'm reading now Tangle of Need (Psy-Changeling, #11) by Nalini Singh (really bad cover! I think I'll start switching to the UK ones for this series because they make more sense.) I'm also re-reading The Lady Is Tempted by Cathy Maxwell an Historical Romance I read when it first came out in 2002. I remember loving it back then but I guess after 10 years of reading really good romance, my tastes have changed somewhat and I'm having issues with some of the plot. I don't think it will end up being more than a 3.5 star for me this time around.

I'm so glad! It's a well thought out series, unique and different.

You still reading The Bronze Horseman? How's it going?

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Leea wrote: "Tellulah wrote: "Read Shameless by Lora Leigh Perfect reading for a sunny day out at the park pool."

How do you like this series, Tellulah? It's been on my TBR list for such a long time.

Regina, th..."

I feel like I've read the other books because elements seemed familiar but I can't actually remember them. Will definitely check them out though.

Regina (reginar) Stacia ~ mistress of mediocrity wrote: "Finished Magic Burns (Kate Daniels, #2) by Ilona Andrews and I liked it better than the first book, so I'll be continuing on with the series."

I am of course thrilled!!!!

message 3107: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I started listening to for Bingo shelf and I bought it awhile ago at audible for 4.95, so it is a good excuse to listen (anyone here read it?): Heart of Stone by C.E. Murphy

message 3108: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) fivesunflowers wrote: "Currently reading Life of Pi by Yann Martel and Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1) by E.L. James(this book is really god-awful) lol"

I absolutely loved Life of Pi, I read it about 9 yeas ago. How are you liking it? If you do a search in this thread we have discussed Fifty Shades several times, lol -- you may find the comments interesting!

message 3109: by Leea (new)

Leea Finished Tatiana and Alexander A Novel by Paullina Simons and i'm an emotional mess now. I seriously need a nap. I cried through most of the last half of the book. It was harder to read the second time around and I know how this story ends.

No clue what to read next, something light and easy to read. Maybe the next Rock Chick book, Rock Chick Redemption (Rock Chick, #3) by Kristen Ashley

Hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday!

message 3110: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Awww, I hope it was cathartic at least?

I am doing work since I will be at the hospital all day tomorrow. So if you were going to be at the hospital all day, alone - what would you bring? So far I have:

Computer
Work to Do
Iphone
Kindle Fire
Chargers for all electronics
Comfortable Clothes
Money/Cards

Am I missing something?

message 3111: by Leea (new)

Leea Snacks... girl you need snacks to keep reading :)

I'll be thinking about you tomorrow and hope ou get some rest/time alone and I hope your husband surgery goes great!

Keep us updated.

What do you plan on reading tomorrow?

message 3112: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Yup...snacks for sure.

How long will you be at the hospital? I hope the surgery goes well.

Leea, T&A...I would be a mess too if I were to read the book again. It's such an epic love story *sigh*

I'm still on an HR kick so I'm reading Lord of Fire (Knight Miscellany Series #2) by Gaelen Foley

message 3113: by Leea (new)

Leea I might read a HR next... Oh, the next book in the Coleman Family Series. Another Dawn (Coleman Family Saga #2) by Sandra Brown

I can't wait to hear what you think!

Have you heard any good things about Keegan's Lady by Catherine Anderson ? This is another western that has been on my list for awhile.

message 3116: by Leea (new)

Leea I haven't, another we can buddy read :)

I have had Comanche Moon by Catherine Anderson on my TBR list for such a long time and it's gotten good ratings.

That's another one on my list too! we'll def have to plan these together :)

message 3118: by Leea (new)

Leea Yeah! Off to see if I have them...

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Hope all goes okay tomorrow Regina.

Finished Fifty Shames of Earl Grey by Andrew Shaffer and it was eh. The funniest parts were in the preview that had already been released. The rest of the book wasn't as funny.

message 3120: by Leea (new)

Leea That's too bad. I love the cover. haha!

message 3121: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Jul 08, 2012 10:01PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Everyone else seems to have found it hilarious, so maybe it was just me. I think I was expecting the sex scenes to make me laugh and they were more awkward than funny.

message 3122: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I wanted to read it but maybe I'll pass on it instead.

message 3123: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I hope everything goes well with the surgery, Regina!

I'm still stuck on the same books I was reading previously. Lately I dont seem to be making much progress.

message 3124: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) FInished The Dark Highlander (Highlander, #5) by Karen Marie Moning I'm finding this series a bit repetitive in terms of both how all the characters feel and the types of antagonisms they face.

message 3125: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Tellulah there is definitely repetition. Although I though the Dark Highlander and the Immortal Highlander were more unique.

Thank you everyone! I am at the hospital waiting right now and the wifi is painfully slow! I am glad I asked you all and brought snacks b/c the cafeteria here sucks. :) It is also so much coolere here in the midwest today -- only the mid 80s, which is such a relief from the 100s and the high high humidity.

DG, I feel the same way - -I feel like I am just running in place with the books I want to read.

I started for bingo Heart of Stone by CE Murphy, I was worried about it since I am picky about UF but I am really liking it!

Heart of Stone by C.E. Murphy

message 3126: by D.G. (new)

D.G. These ladies are very smart...I wouldn't have thought of bringing snacks either!

message 3127: by Leea (new)

Leea I take snacks everywhere... lol! My huge purse has at least one Luna bar and almonds in it. The boys always have a small lunch bag full of snacks they take in the car.

Regina, glad you're hanging in there. Keep us updated and I hope all goes well.

I'm really enjoying Another Dawn (Coleman Family Saga #2) by Sandra Brown . Brown is a master a writing human interactions.

message 3128: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) He is out now. He has 6 screws in his knee. We are heading home. :)

message 3129: by Leea (new)

Leea Crap... 6 screws! Eeek! I hope he's got some pain meds. Good luck honey!

message 3130: by Kay (new)

message 3131: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I finished Lord of Fire (Knight Miscellany Series #2) by Gaelen Foley last night and it was ok. I also just finished re-reading On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves . I love Anna & TJ!!

message 3132: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Wow! He's out of hospital already?

Good luck! I hope the recuperation goes smoother!

message 3133: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Well we are still here just getting discharged.

message 3134: by Aoibhínn (new)

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) I've finished Hard Eight by Janet Evanovich and now I've started The Lost Daughter by Diane Chamberlain.

message 3135: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Hard eight was my favorite! Yay for ranger time.

message 3136: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Looooove Ranger!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Finished Predestined (Existence Trilogy, #2) by Abbi Glines and it was a big improvement over book 1.

Started Undone Rebel (Undone Lovers # 1) by Lila Dubois

message 3138: by D.G. (new)

D.G. You guys are always reading such interesting books!

message 3139: by Leea (new)

Leea Love the cover of Undone Rebel... Let me know how it goes :)

I finished Another Dawn (Coleman Family Saga #2) by Sandra Brown and I loved it. I cannot believe (view spoiler)

I also feel like Lee's storyline is not finished but there is not another book?

I'm going to read Rock Chick Redemption (Rock Chick, #3) by Kristen Ashley next and hope it's better than the last Rock Chick book. Finger crossed.

message 3140: by Leea (new)

Leea Regina, hows the patient this morning?

message 3141: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Leea, I'm so glad you loved Another Dawn. I had the same reaction too. I didn't predict that to happen so it emotionally got to me. I don't think this author has written any other historical westerns...at least I couldn't find any on her list.

message 3142: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) He is okay, it was a rough night for me though -- waking every two hours to give him medicine and filling the ice machine with ice (it circulates ice around the wound continuously. Nice $385 piece of equipment I am confident my insurance won't cover. Sorry, I am in a touch mood today. We have to go in for a post-op appt today since the procedure was so intensive (did I post this already -- six fricking screws!!).

On the upsdie I am loving my audio book

Heart of Stone by C.E. Murphy and a fantasy book that I started -- it is really really good Alif the Unseen by G. Willow Wilson and totally make my day I got an ARC I was dying for and that Penguin took four months to approve -- so I think they are reaching the bottom of the barrell now, lol: Broken Harbour (Dublin Murder Squad, #4) by Tana French

message 3143: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Oh Regina! You're a saint! If I were you, I'd be going mad.

Oh how nice of you to get the ARC of Broken Harbour! I'm planning to get it and see if I can read it during my trip in Dublin. :) Too bad I already read the Fever series, LOL!

I read Emma while I was in London and it really made it extra special.

Summarizing: it says that people who practice bdsm are not psychologically disturbed (or not more than the rest of us).

I just love being able to read a book that takes place wherever you are at. Especially when on vacation. Or even more so that you were in England. I read a book that took place in Paris and it really made me want to take off and see some of the places that were mentioned.

Oh Regina. I feel for you and your husband. It has been a never ending ordeal for you all. You're amazing and it will get easier now that things can start healing. Both physically and emotionally.

You're a saint!! You have every right to be pissed off, the situation sucks. I know it's going to get better in a few days. Is you sister in law able to help you?

message 3148: by Domino (aka Meme) (new)

Domino (aka Meme) (bryghtstarr) | 231 comments finished Brazen and have started A Kingdom of Dreams (Westmoreland, #1) by Judith McNaught . i'm a little bummed cause i'm not really getting in to it. i really like Judith McNaught's novels and read Whitney, My Love (which is the sequel) and really loved it. i might give it a few more pages before dropping it.

message 3149: by D.G. (last edited Jul 11, 2012 06:09AM) (new)

D.G. I told my husband the other day that I was thinking of getting a cheapo Kindle to read in the Subway (the iPad is heavier so it's not as easy to handle there.) My plan was to wait until I saw a really good offer for a refurbished one but when I came home last night, I found a Kindle Touch on my dresser!

I can't wait to start reading a book there! At least I'll know I can carry it everywhere because it's so light. :)

message 3150: by Leea (new)

Leea That's so sweet! I love my Kindle, it's so easy to use.
