I so wish!! Are you planning on going? I haven't been to an author signing yet. I hate that everything always happens in SoCal. NorCal needs some love too!!"

No, I didn't even know about it till you posted it. I was just kidding. I'm surprised that SF doen't have anything like that.

Leea Kay and Stacia - You have me intrigued about this book...

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Stacia, let me know if you end up reading the author's other book. I also agree that the book is beautiful. I don't think it's one of my favorites either so I didn't rate it 5 stars.

Leea, nothing that I'm interested in ever happens in SF...especially book conventions. I've checked! LOL

Read it. I think you'll like it. It's a fast read too. It'll only take about a day or two.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) It was a very quick read.

I was also thinking that even though (view spoiler)

I absolutely want to check out her other book. Soon, hopefully. I still need to read Tiffanie DeBartolo's other book God Shaped Hole. I need to keep up with authors who write really good books and make sure to follow them.

I haven't heard of God Shaped Hole. It sounds fun. I just added it to my list.

Another book I want to read. I wonder how it compares to How to Kill a Rockstar?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I hear that it's more sad.

message 2710: by Leea (new)

Leea Oh, yikes! I looked on Amazon, they don't have it on ebook just paperback. hmm!

message 2711: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Looks like google has the ebook: http://books.google.com/ebooks?id=I6I...

message 2712: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I can't bring myself to read it.

message 2713: by Leea (new)

Leea It sounds incredibly sad... I must read it. lol!

message 2714: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Sucker for punishment! Lol.

message 2717: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) First time I have read in a week - I am at a softball game. My other kids are at the tball playoff game so I am alone!! I am enjoying this breif rest. I am reading Chasing Magic (Downside Ghosts, #5) by Stacia Kane

message 2718: by Leea (new)

Leea How you doing, Regina?

message 2719: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments What is the deal with J.R. Ward's books being so expensive? I still have to buy Lover Reborn (I know, I am so behind) and it is like $17.00 on Amazon. Can I call B.S. on that?

message 2720: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Not good Leea. Trying to be positive. But we are struggling. Sorry to be a downer. Thank you for asking.

Marcella it definitely is BS.

message 2721: by Leea (new)

Leea I'm so sorry! I wish I could help you in some way. You're not a downer at all. You are going through something hard and we want to be there for you.

Yeah, $17 is way too much.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I could never see paying that much for a book unless it was a special edition or had to be shipped from out of country.

message 2723: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments I want to read the book so badly but I refuse to pay that much for a book. Ugh what the hell am I going to do?

message 2724: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments I'm also continuing How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf. I have too many books on my currently reading shelf.

Why don't you check the library? That's what I do when I want to read a book but I'm not willing to pay $20 for the hardcover.

message 2726: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I was just going to suggest that. I know my local library ordered over a dozen of copies for that book. And I bet the waiting time is much less than it would have been two months ago!

message 2727: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I recently got the hardcovers for Tangle of Need (Psy-Changeling, #11) by Nalini Singh and Fair Game (Alpha & Omega, #3) by Patricia Briggs from the library. I'm probably going to read them both next week (hopefully at least one fits the Bingo Shelf!)

Thanks D.G.! I usually like to own the books I read, especially BDB. Maybe I will wait a little longer. Next month is my birthday and I always get Amazon or B&N gift cards.

Not a secret at all, but I loved Fair Game!!!

message 2730: by Leea (new)

Leea I read the first 4 chapters of Aftertime (Aftertime, #1) by Sophie Littlefield and I really like it so far. I love how books just start right off.

Cass, I like her. I don't know how she (view spoiler)

message 2731: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Read Maybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie which somehow I totally missed. And while it followed the template of Bet Me or Welcome to Temptation, it just didn't do it for me. Like a photocopy of the excellent original.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Reading Miss Wonderful (Carsington Brothers, #1) by Loretta Chase with a friend and it's my first Loretta Chase book. The style seems a bit formal so far compared to what I'm used to in HR but I'm only a few chapters in and can't tell yet if this is a good or bad thing.

message 2733: by D.G. (last edited Jun 21, 2012 01:56PM) (new)

D.G. I love Loretta Chase. The next book in that series: Mr. Impossible (Carsington Brothers, #2) by Loretta Chase is one of favorite books ever.

LC is really good at writing witty dialogue that uses a more formal style but that usually goes better with the period and the fact that British people tend to beat around the bush (at least compared to Americans.)

Sometimes I read HR set in London and the characters are so direct and straightforward that I wonder if the author has ever met a British person!

Leea, I know what you mean! I was just thinking the same about Chasing Magic -- it just started. No lead up. I loved it. There is a lot about Ruthie, Cass and her mom/step dad. It is a personal journey, most definitely. That is a book that I rushed to get to the end, bc I had to know. Sophie Littlefield writes maternal love so well - -and the details about loving your kids, the details moms remember -- it is in the book of hers I am listening to right now:

A Bad Day for Mercy A Crime Novel by Sophie Littlefield

message 2735: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Yay, finally finished How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf (Naked Werewolf, #1) by Molly Harper ! Not as good as I thought it would be.

I'm really attempted to start a new book, but still got a lot of books on the currently-reading shelf. It's just that none of them call to me like READ ME READ ME!

message 2736: by Leea (new)

Leea Aftertime (Aftertime, #1) by Sophie Littlefield i'm loving this book. I cannot take my eyes away from Cass. She's so damaged and hurt. I really just want to hug her and tell her it's all going to be okay.

My heart is breaking for Smoke and I hope Cass can find Ruthie.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Finished Mystery Man (Dream Man, #1) by Kristen Ashley and it was fun in parts and cheesy bad in others. Mixed feelings all around. I liked one of the side characters a lot though, so I'll continue on with the series.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Mitch.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Btw....DG, your comment made me laugh out loud in bed. I must be long winded if you're stuck reading it in two parts!

LOL, no! Most of my reviews tend to be novels so I don't mind reading long ones. I had already started reading your review when I realized I was late for the gym so I figured I should "bookmark" it and come back to it later (which I did.):)

I'm reading a book now where the heroine is an editor and reading your review made me realize how important they are!

I was surprised by this book and really enjoyed it! I hope you like it too!

A Bad Day for Mercy A Crime Novel by Sophie Littlefield is soooo good. Damn I love this series.

Chasing Magic (Downside Ghosts, #5) by Stacia Kane I guess ditto! Kay you read this one right? I am loving it.

message 2746: by Regina (new)

I haven't read it yet....especially how everything went down between her, lex and terrible in the last book. I'm looking forward to your review.
