LOL, it's called Rain Fall. The narrator is half-Japanese like the main character in the story so now I'm imagining that the MC looks like this guy! (Even though the main character is supposed to be older. :)

Only bad thing about this book is that it took me 11 or 12 chapters to actually get into it!!

Laura...at the time I read it I just getting back into reading and I don't think I was quite ready for it. It was interesting to me but I didn't have the mental faculties at the time to try and keep up. I am willing to give it another try.

I liked The Host. It does take about 100 pages to get to a point where you're not scratching your head...but once it gets going the book gets good. A lot of the book takes place in underground tunnels and what not which makes it interesting.

It's nothing like Twilight. At all. Don't let that be a deterrent. I wouldn't have even known it was penned by the same author.

And yes, now that I think about it, it took a while to get going. I liked the end so much that I never thought about the beginning.

I think that was my problem...I didn't go beyond the 100 pages.

I can never give a book 100 pages, maybe in exceptional circumstances will I give it that much time. Like Kushiel's Dart I knew that it was a book that I would eventually love and love the series. Or the same with a Girl with the Dragon Tatoo -- I knew it was a really good series that I wanted to read. But usually the most I will give a book, especially now is between 5 to 10%, if I am bored I will drop it.

Funny thing, when I started Twilight I didn't like it. I put it down. I read the first chapter. I thought the writing was meh and just didn't like Bella and didn't care. I only pushed through it because of local pressure, then I ended up getting hooked on the story even though the writing still bothered me.

A Wild Justice I am almost finished with A Wild Justice by Gail Ranstrom. Very entertaining! I love historicals with hot romance, and a good mystery, plus a strong independent heroine.

Finished Lover Reborn... Loved it! Now I have no idea what to read after that. haha!

So I keep seeing these reviews of Lover Reborn and it is so hard to keep from reading them! But I am going slow. I know that pain of leaving behind a good book for a long time (I felt that way just a few weeks ago when I finished ) that I am purposely dragging this sucker out.

I am done with it was such great fun! 3.5 stars and I am definitely going on to #2. But I will be reading #2, in the end the narrator started getting on my nerves. So I am not sure what to listen to yet, but as DG knows all to well (hahaha), I am sure I have an audio book laying around here somehwere. ;)

I definitely will! Enjoy! :) I thought Hunting Ground was the weakest in the two series. But Fair Game is one of the best out of both series so it is worth it to keep going. :)

I just started Untamed, Western Ties, and Touch of a Rogue I also just bought Lover Reborn. So glad to hear that one was not a disapointment. It cost big bucks.
Hope your 8 yr old is okay Regina and that you both have book to read if your emergency wards are like ours.

So, after finishing Lover Reborn, I can't seem to find a book to read to fit my mood. It seems like I go through this dilemma twice a week!

The last book in Mari Carr's Compass brother series is out. So you could read just it or the whole series Western Ties.

I always wonder why they number the Harlequin and other publisher books with numbers when they're not really a series. I guess for tracking purposes?

It could have been worse, a total of 3 hours. It was a deep gash at his hairline. He was playing tag on the playground (my husband was "it"!) and he tripped and hit his forehead and it went in deep. It was a rough night.

I don't really know why the Harlequins number their books. In all honesty I only read the thicker historical ones. ( Regency, Victorican, Medieval)I don't think those are numbered. I suppose it's some kind of system.

Is it indie published? If so, just try to convert with Calibre, it may not have DRM. Only the publishers use DRM.

There's something about cuts that require stitches that do the same for me too Leea. When you see all that blood it freaks you out.

My older son got bit by our dog when he was young and he had a huge hole going through his lip. I'm surprised that you can barely see the scar now.

Thanks Leea. I can't get it out of my mind right now - his screams and begging for it to be done. I think I am finally reacting to it. I kept thinking about how Claire did these procedures in outlander without meds - it was still hard and scary with meds.

It's not the blood or any of that, I'm at my best in a crisis situation believe me. It's that he fell while playing and we have not control over that... It's the uncertainty. We can protect our children from so much but a lot is left up to fate.

How is Hunting Ground progressing?

I have had 2 margaritas - my husband poured without me asking. I guess he thought I needed it. And I am much more appreciating BDB, I think I was just tired. ;) although I am still not that interested in the dialogue of the BoB even though I like and appreciate the storyline.

Well, i've only read for like 10 minutes earlier and then fell asleep. lol! I've been so tired. I can't stop thinking about Lover Reborn.

We're about to head to our favorite mexican joint and i'm not driving... they have these huge margaritas and i'm going to have 2 :)

I decided its about time I started reading more classics so yesterday I started reading by Emily Bronte.

I reread that last year and loved it. It is a slow start but very rewarding.

I finished Pandemonium and of course it finished as I expected so I ended up giving it a 2- stars. Grrrr...

I also finished How to Be a Villain: Evil Laughs, Secret Lairs, Master Plans, and More!!! which I enjoyed very much.

Now I'll continue listening to until we get the Bingo announcement.
