I did the exact same thing you did! hahaha ANd now I'm going to check out that other book.

I liked the second book even better than the first. I can't wait for number 3!

I'm not sure what to read next. I might need to find a stand alone novel with a nicely wrapped ending.

Laura, I feel like I haven't seen you around much. Maybe I just missed some posting. How are you doing?

Thanks! Looks like my MIL is coming for the weekend so we might get a night out instead - yippee!

Not sure what to read next. I've been on a HUGE contemporary romance kick but I need something different.
My oldest graduates Kindergarten tomorrow, I can't believe he'll be a in first grade. Summer is here :)

Just saw this: Thanks Regina, I might start this next.

I can't believe my Kdger is moving on to 1st grade either. Crazy stuff.
I finished

Been in a reading rut too. I can't seem to find anything that I can really get into. Maybe I should stick to movies for a bit until I can shake off this funk.

Were going to busy this summer:
Kids are in swim lessons
Summer camps/VBS
Summer Soccer
Swimming at our club most days :)
We're also going camping and doing a few day trips.

After that, we'll just relax at home. My husband uses the Summer to relax, exercise and prepare his classes for the Fall semester.

Most everyone I know has given it either 4 or 5 stars, even the pickier readers, so I'm excited.

My oldest finishes junior year tomorrow. He's going to be 18 and a senior this year.
I feel so flipping old even though I'm only a couple of years older than you. Ahhh...teenage pregnancy. It's the way to feel old before your time, I guess.

LOL. Ah, I truly think it is kids that make you feel old. Most of the parents that my son goes to school with are many years older than me. So that easily makes you feel like you're ancient.
But on the flip side, I'm in law school with all these twenty somethings and that can either make me feel ancient because I can't relate or quite young because they all think I'm much younger than I am.

My good friend had a daughter in High school and we always joke that she'll be free and i'll be strapped with these young kids. lol!

Thanks Leea. I know I just need to find something that "flips my switch" and haven't been able to find that book yet. I had been on a contemp kick, but now think I may go back to historical or even something steampunkish. I still need to read

We did that last year. We stayed at a resort right next to the part and walked to Legoland. The kids still talk about how much fun they had, it was a great vacation. I know you'll have a wonderful time.

As long as we can survive without the oldest having any accidental pregnancies, we'll at least get a bit of a break after he moves out, when Silas is in that elementary school range before hitting the teen years.

Was it the Maribisa...one of the Hilton resorts? That is where we are staying.

Grand Pacific Palisades Resort & Hotel, Carlsbad, CA
Did you do any shopping at the outlets? Oh, Jim was laughing when I was packing the car, I had so many bags. I shopped so much. haha!

That's what so good about these meetings and free stuff. You just have to make sure you are strong willed and can fight their sales pitch. My hubby is so horrible and can be convinced to do anything. That's why he needs me there to set them straight. LOL

San Diego is nice because the temperature is pretty moderate year round and it's right across the border from Mexico.
We used to hit up the same few places in socal every year, San Diego being one of them. My mom had a fascination with Solvang but it's so very touristy. Anyone else been there?

We bought the 5 day, legoland pass $80 for the boys each... they have a huge splash park there and we wen't all 5 days. Not the whole day but half, Garrett was 3 and still napped.
The outlets in Carlsbad rock! My girlfriend and I were just talking about taking a trip to Palm Springs but then we wanted to shop at those outlets. ha!

LOL. I'm right there with you on that. We'd certainly end up buying one.

California has some amazing parks. Yosemite, still takes my breath away. It's beyond beautiful there. My husband doing some business in Yosemite park, he's been loving it. Staying in the park and doing some morning trail runs. I'm so jealous.

There was one recently in Chicago that I wish I had gone too. So the answer is no. :) There is a SciFiComicCon in August in Chicago where the Hugo winners will be announced and I am planning on going there (the author of Fallen From Grace is planning on being there too).

I won free tickets to RomCon the first year that they had it. At that time, I was travelling to a lot of NKOTB concerts and their Bahamas cruise. So, I didn't go b/c travelling and leaving the kid with the hubs wasn't making him happy.

Stacia, havent been to Solvang but I always hear about it.

You'l be okay -- do you have a DVD player for the kids? When I have kids under 2 (which you do), we would drive overnight (DC, northern wisconsin -- both of which are 8-12 hours from where I am). When the kids are 3+ we have been able to do those trips with DVD players. Last year we did an 8.5 hour drive and the kids were (last summer ...) 3, 5.5, 7.6 and 11.5 -- they were equally all fine (even the dog!). On the return trip we actually bought 3 new movies they had never seen before. It really helped.
Summer starts for us after next Friday.
Swimming classes for 3 youngest
Acting/drama production camp for the oldest
Band camp for the oldest
softball through June for the oldest
tball through June for the middle 2
Soccer camp for oldest (her traveling team practices year round)
Library reading program
Bike rides everyday
Neighborhood kids running group for two oldest
My husband stays home with them and takes them to a museum or zoo every week and they also go swimming 2x a week. Then he is big on playing outside so everyday they are outside playing other baseball or soccer and he gets a bunch of neighbor kids to join them. So they have a lot of fun.
We are going camping a few times but no vacations planned. Next year I am hoping to do a 2-3 week vacation driving from Chicago through the northern part of the US (Idaho, Montana, etc.) and camping out while we do it. And we took a big vacation last year and then two big ones the year before (big for us, likley not big for other people), so just a few camping trips is going to be it this year.

NKOTB, really? Were you working with them?

It would be fun though.

Stacia, I've never been to Solvang either.

NKOTB, really? Were you working with them?"
hahha...no! I'm just a fan. So, when they were on the west coast, me and a bunch of friends were following them from city to city.

That sounds wonderful, Regina! I'd love to take a road trip across the US. One day, right!
We play outside in our court every night in the summer. BBQ's, drinks and chatting with our neighbors. So fun!
