Leea I'm really loving Fair Game... It's so much better than Hunting Ground. The story is engaging and I'm enjoying reading about Anna so strong and confident. The whole story with Agent Fraser is going to be interesting. I got to about 24%, Chapter 4, Kay.

message 7152: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I barely made a dent. I got home about an hour ago so I'm only on Ch 2. I love Anne and Charles. I also like the mult POVs as opposed to only Mercy's in her series.

message 7153: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I know!! If is amazing how much better fair game is. Briggs stepped it up and the additional characters added a lot.

message 7154: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Regina, would you say that you liked Fair Game more than some Mercy books?

message 7155: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Yes. Definitely. Although mercy is my favorite. The development charles and anna was so well done. What do you think?

message 7156: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Well...only on Ch 2 so I'm still getting into it. But so far from the other books, I seem to connect w Anna & Charles more then Mercy & Adam. I think it's bc we get to read more about their relationship than Mercy & Adam. Mercy books tend to be more action than romance....while Anna & Charles has a good balance w romance/relationship & action. Just my humble opinion, of course.

message 7157: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) You are definitely right. I just love mercy though - and her friends. But Charles is an amazing character.

message 7158: by Leea (new)

Leea You're not far behind me. I haven't read much today because my husband is sick, went to the doctor and has a double ear infection. His doctor told him he should have had tubes put in as a kid. He's in such pain, I feel bad for him.

I hope to read more tonight. This is what was missing in Hunting Ground, Anna and Charles working together. I love that anna is taking a front seat and being more dominate.

message 7159: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Regina wrote: "You are definitely right. I just love mercy though - and her friends. But Charles is an amazing character."

Oh, I love all her friends too. Mercy & Adam are great too...don't get me wrong. I just seem to feel more for Anna & Charles. Still, Mercy is like CRACK and I can't get enough!

message 7160: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Leea...I'm sorry about hubby. I hope he feels better soon. Ear infections just suck.

message 7161: by Leea (new)

Leea Thanks! Are you traveling now Regina?

Any idea which Ellen O'Connell book you want to start Thursday? You know me, always planning. haha!

Tuesday still works for me if you're game.

Finished Reaper's Property (Reapers MC, #1) by Joanna Wylde and I have not had so much dislike for a lead female character in a while. I was not a big fan of the book but I might read the next one because I am interested in some of the secondary characters.

message 7163: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Did you review it? I've been on the fence about reading it after reading Leea's review.

message 7164: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I just finished watching the season finale for Dowton Abbey. I am just heartbroken & pissed!

message 7165: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments I think I'm going to start Firelight (Darkest London, #1) by Kristen Callihan today and see how it goes.

Leea Kay wrote: "I just finished watching the season finale for Dowton Abbey. I am just heartbroken & pissed!"

I totally agree, although I saw it coming during the last 5 min and I was almost numb to the whole thing now. I wonder what will happen to (view spoiler)

message 7167: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Leea....I don't think we'll find anyone who (view spoiler)

Is it ok if I join in reading hector?! I can't wait!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Absolutely. Jump on in!

Good luck Courtney. I know you've been having a rough time with new series lately.

Wendy F wrote: "Did you review it? I've been on the fence about reading it after reading Leea's review."

Okay, so I think in many ways that this book was far better than Undeniable. The writing was leaps and bounds ahead of the other book.

The story itself was fine. I just hated the female lead. It sucks when one character's actions can ruin an otherwise good book for you.

Because it was not a writing or story issue and my complaints only had to do with the main character being stupid, I think I'll continue to read the series. Hopefully, the next female lead will have a better head on her shoulders. I want to see the club leader get a HEA and hope he gets his own book.

message 7170: by Zelda (new)

Zelda | 5 comments I'm reading Desire Me by Robyn De Hart.

message 7171: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Thank you, Stacia! I'm not holding up too much hope for this one, but I am hoping that it is better than I think it will be.

Yes....join us!

message 7173: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) The more the merrier!

I am stuck at the airport. My plane has been delayed 2 hours. Just stinks. Gives me less time of relaxing in my hotel room.

message 7174: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I have started and stopped 10 books while I am here.

That bad, huh?

message 7177: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Reading The Meryl Streep Movie Club and bawling my way through it! It's the best book I've cried my way through since The Joy Luck Club. Wow!

Just saw Diane's reading Wrath And The Letter Opener, so of course, I had to go grab it. Also saw a fellow friend and Lori is reading her way through the Pennyroyal Green series by Julie Anne Long. Since I've read book 1, I decided to add the next couple of books to my TBR.

message 7178: by Leea (new)

Leea Regina wrote: "I have started and stopped 10 books while I am here."

You poor thing. Hope you find one that peaks your interest.

message 7179: by Leea (new)

Leea Kay, how far are you into Fair Game? i'm about half way in, hope to read more tonight and finish in the am.

message 7180: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Leea wrote: "Kay, how far are you into Fair Game? i'm about half way in, hope to read more tonight and finish in the am."

I'm about 70% in and I hope to finish tonight. How are you liking it? What part are you at?

message 7181: by Leea (new)

Leea 54%, (view spoiler) I hope to run upstairs and read a lot more tonight. I'm enjoying this so much more than Hunting ground. How do you feel about Fair Game so far?

message 7182: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Leea...I am enjoying it and like I said before I love how Briggs writes Anna & Charles. I just love how C is one scary werewolf but Anna sees more than just that.

message 7183: by Leea (new)

Leea I'm now up to 62% (view spoiler) I agree, I love that about Anna!!

message 7184: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Ear infections are the worst. Have the meds kicked in?

Those are great scenes. Briggs writes some scary witches. They are so freaky. All of her 'monsters' are.

They were all ARCs that I discarded. I need to be more careful in requesting them.

I am listening to False Mermaid by Erin Hart and reading Whisper Falls (Destiny, #3) by Toni Blake

message 7185: by Leea (last edited Feb 18, 2013 08:01PM) (new)

Leea Not really, he's in a lot of pain and can't hear very well. Plus his equilibrium is off, I hope he's feeling better tomorrow. Thanks!

Destiny series, I need to read the next few. Let me know what you think.

message 7186: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Those double infections are horrible -- did his ear drum burst? :( They seem to hit adults hard.

Destiny is a nice escape. :) I liked the first two in the series, not heavy -- easy fun and hot sex scenes.

message 7187: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) So I have decided that Susan Mallery is not for me. I tried two of her books and they were just not interesting to me. They even had my favorite themes - redefining one's life, escaping to a magical rural type place. But the books just didn't do it for me. Barefoot Season (Blackberry Island, #1) by Susan Mallery Three Sisters (Blackberry Island, #2) by Susan Mallery

message 7188: by Leea (new)

Leea His ear drum didn't burst but he's in some serious pain. They gave him some drops for pain but it's not working. I wish I had something stronger to give him besides tylenol or Ibuprofen. I didn't get any sleep because he was snoring so laud last night. Normally he doesn't snore, it's nuts! So we're both tired and cranky.

I have yet to read any Susan Mallery books. I have heard others liked them, so I should give them a try. I love those themes as well, our favorite Virgin River is going to be hard to top :)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Poor little guy. :(

message 7190: by Leea (new)

Leea It's my husband. Lol!!!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh whoops. I completely missed that.

*facepalm*

My spaciness is showing today. It seems like everyone has kids with either flu or ear issues going on, so I automatically assume kid now.

OH LOOK STACIA...post 7207.

message 7192: by Leea (new)

Leea Haha! I think it's funny because he's acting like a baby and all cranky and woe is me. I'm over it!!

message 7193: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Leea, hope your hubby's feeling better soon. My sister fought with ear issues, and I can't imagine the pain! And yes, most guys don't do well being sick or in pain, do they? Hope you get a break soon!

message 7194: by Aoibhínn (new)

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) Yesterday I finished The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly by Jennifer Donnelly. The Tea Rose is an extremely well-researched and well-written novel which is packed full of unexpected twists and turns throughout the story. I absolutely enjoyed this book! I thought this book was very gripping, intriguing and engrossing tale and I found it very hard to put it down for long. I couldn't wait to find out what happened next! I fell in love with all the main characters. They were all so interesting, compelling and very well-developed, especially Fiona. As soon as I finished this novel I brought the sequel, The Winter Rose, on my Kindle and I'm really looking forward to reading it!
My full review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

I've just started reading Me Before You by Jojo Moyes by Jojo Moyes.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Aw, Me Before You got me choked up a little.

I started Hector and it's cute so far.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Also started Requiem (Delirium, #3) by Lauren Oliver

message 7197: by Leea (new)

Leea Finished Fair Game (Alpha & Omega, #3) by Patricia Briggs and loved it! This world is going in a new direction for the next books and i'm excited.

Started Into the Storm (Troubleshooters, #10) by Suzanne Brockmann (Buddy reading with Wendy *Fist pump*) and i'm about 13% in and it's funny and cute so far. Lindsay is hilarious and going to e fun to read. I have a huge crush on Izzy - please tell me that he gets his HEA?

message 7198: by Regina (last edited Feb 19, 2013 05:42PM) (new)

Regina (reginar) Isn't the ending of Fair Game freaking amazing!?? I cannot wait to see what happens.

Leea Izzy is my favorite too!! He does get his HEA but not until Breaking the Rules (Troubleshooters, #16) by Suzanne Brockmann which is book 16. :D Man I LOVE him. But he has some awesome (and sexy) parts to play in Into the Fire (Troubleshooters, #13) by Suzanne Brockmann Hot Pursuit (Troubleshooters, #15) by Suzanne Brockmann (books 13 and 15).

As far as Into the Storm, I really liked Lindsay. I missed the operations element of the past books, but I liked that the teams were together.

So I am in a hotel, had 2 margaritas and I debating between reading or watching bad tv. Man there is nothing on tv!

message 7199: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Izzy is cracking me up! He's so funny!

message 7200: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Regina, she's still writing these? I want to see Dave get an HEA.
