Domino (aka Meme) (bryghtstarr) | 231 comments @Regina, i felt the same way about Tempted. i was hoping for a HEA or at least a better ending. i felt it was incomplete. and the sex scenes weren't as good as Hart's usually are.
have u read Naked? it continues with Alex's story.

message 6502: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Regina, I'm glad you liked her enough to read more. I like her too but I usually don't feel all happy when I finish reading them. LOL I just have to be ready for that when I pick up a Hart book.

What other Hart books have you liked? I've read Naked and Dirty as well as these Alex books.

message 6504: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) It is weird, I felt fully satisfied by the story itself. Just not the sex scenes. ;) I really liked that they were flawed fully fleshed out (haha) characters. I could understand how the threesome play happened in the context of this story and I thought it was great she showed its after affects. I just thought also, that the mother in law was very unrealistic. Maybe I am naive though.

I haven't read Naked, off to check it out.

I need to read some other stuff by her.

message 6505: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I am laughing at myself because I realize now that I like my erotica tortured. LOL. I remember the earlier discussion about Hart and people seem to come down on one side or another for her.

So what should I read next by her?

message 6506: by Angie Elle (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 602 comments OK--last time I was in a reading slump, it was Maya Banks who pulled me out.

I need a kick ass book to get me out of my slump, gals. What'll it be?

Tortured erotica isn't bad! LOL

I liked Dirty by Megan Hart and the main character has flaws. If you want a sad messed up situation, try Broken by Megan Hart but a lot of people didn't seem to like this one. That's all I've read by her besides the rest of the Alex books.

I really just want a good Regency read. The last four I've read have been disappointing.

If it's part of a series, it would have to be the first one, though. I'm a stickler for reading books in order.

Or, if you've read Rock Me, something hot like that! LOL

message 6510: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Angie, have you read any books by Lorraine Heath? If not, try In Bed With the Devil (Scoundrels of St. James, #1) by Lorraine Heath or if you're in the mood for westerns, she has some amazing ones. I always find Lisa Kleypas very satisfying as well as a re-read of Judith McNaught :) I haven't read a good regency for awhile now so that's all I can think of for now.

message 6511: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Regina wrote: "I am laughing at myself because I realize now that I like my erotica tortured. LOL. I remember the earlier discussion about Hart and people seem to come down on one side or another for her.

LOL That got me thinking about perky erotica. Which sounds wrong on all kinds of levels.

message 6512: by Leea (new)

Leea Hahaha!!

I finished Rebirth (Aftertime, #2) by Sophie Littlefield and, WOW! If you haven't read this series you need to, I love these damaged characters and how Littlefield takes you on this amazing adventure. What you thinks going to happen and what takes place is always changing and it's just amazing. I was at the edge of me seat. I cannot wait to see how this ends in Horizon (Aftertime, #3) by Sophie Littlefield . I'm already half way done and so many twists and turns. Please tell me (view spoiler)

I've never read Lorraine Heath, but I have been eyeing her books lately. I bought the one you suggested and I'm going to start as soon as I finish A Lady Awakened (Blackshear Family, #1) by Cecilia Grant .

Thanks for the suggestions. :)

Have you read LK's Bow Street Runner series? I haven't yet, but it's been in my TBR pile forever. If you have, how is it?

message 6515: by Leea (new)

Leea I haven't read Bow Street yet, let me know how it is :)

message 6516: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I agree completely Leea!!! But you will have to wait and see. All I can say is I was very satisfied with the end.

Tellulah - lmao perky erotica. :). I agree do completely. I am happy to admit I like tortured erotica.

I am liking the LK book so far. Working late and listening. :)

message 6517: by Leea (new)

Leea I'm at 85% and I want to know so bad (view spoiler)

Time to take a reading break and hang out with my husband, I cannot wait to hear how this all ends.

message 6518: by Angie Elle (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 602 comments You can put a book down with only 15% to go? You are a stronger woman than I! Once I hit 75%, I'm not going anywhere until it's done.

message 6519: by Leea (new)

Leea lol! I know... problem is I basically read all day and now my husband wants attention. Duty calls. Plus I was up at 5am for some reason this morning.

message 6520: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Finished Alpha & Omega A Companion Novella to Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #0.5) by Patricia Briggs which was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was the long hair on the hero. That's just not attractive to me.

I'm starting Kiss An Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips today!

message 6521: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Hey Leea, you around here? Got a question!

message 6523: by Leea (new)

Leea Yes!!

message 6524: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I'm feeling the strangest urge to read the Troubleshooters, but won't without you, lmao. So I was just wondering if you're still reading Aftertime.

No pressure! If you're not ready I can pick up something else. I just need something without magic for now, and thought I'd ask if you wanted to before we start Under the Never Sky on thursday.

Ooh. Are you starting from the beginning? I could go for a Troubleshooters reread, and the a catch up. Regina would like that! LOL

message 6526: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) We haven't gotten through them all yet. We're on book 7.

message 6527: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Leea, I'm going to read Double Clutch (Brenna Blixen, #1) by Liz Reinhardt , lol.

We can just stick to the original plan, lmao. I'm sorry to be yanking your chain, hahaha.

message 6528: by Leea (new)

Leea Sorry, I was writing my review of Horizon, I just finished.

I can start Troubleshooters if you want? I was about to read another post apocolypse books, The First Days (As the World Dies, #1) by Rhiannon Frater but can hold off... let me know :)

message 6529: by Angie Elle (last edited Jan 08, 2013 10:12AM) (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 602 comments I am reading In Bed With the Devil (Scoundrels of St. James, #1) by Lorraine Heath , flip flopping it with A Lady Awakened (Blackshear Family, #1) by Cecilia Grant in an effort to finish. I wish

I had it in me to leave a book unfinished.

Loving In Bed With the Devil (Scoundrels of St. James, #1) by Lorraine Heath so far!

Darn, lmao. I want to read that too! I'm tempted to read that one now, hahahaha.

It's up to you, since I'm throwing a wrench in your plans. I can start Troubleshooters if you're feeling that. If not I'll either bite the bullet and start First Days with you, since I've had that, or continue with Double Clutch...

Off to read your review, did you like the series?

message 6532: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Scott | 4 comments Right now I am currently reading The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling just about 80 pages into it. Hopefully this book will grow on me, I really want to finish it! I had high expectations going into this book!!

message 6533: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I absoulutely loved it. It is very dark and not very inspirational though, as a warning. I listened to the audio.

message 6534: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Elizabeth, this may help decide if it is for you - -my review is long and has absolutely no spoilers: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

The Double Clutch books were so good! Loved them!

Laura | 131 comments Just finished Avoiding Commitment (Avoiding, #1) by K.A. Linde and Avoiding Responsibility (Avoiding, #2) by K.A. Linde . I haven't read something I liked this much in a long time. I'm a huge sucker for tortured love stories though. This one really got to me, I read both books in a short time; started the last one at 7pm last night and finished at 4 am this morning! Couldn't wait to see what was going to happen. Thanks for suggesting this ladies.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Just finished Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky, #2) by Veronica Rossi and absolutely loved it. I might have to fit in a read of Roar and Liv (Under the Never Sky, #0.5) by Veronica Rossi since it's short, even though I started Every Day by David Levithan and that one already has me hooked.

What's up with me finding good books lately? I was starting to think that I was disliking everything and turning into a bitter old lady. I guess I shouldn't complain.

How are you, btw? How's your mother, if you don't mind me asking. Thinking of you and miss chatting books with you....

Has some sexiness but it's not the main thing. And yes a HEA :) Though it wasn't what I expected when I started reading. I think she writes emotions and passion well.

She's doing ok, a little worse, so we're struggling with her chemo meds. Thanks so much for remembering and asking Kay, means the world. How are you and your kiddos? Miss chatting with you too!!!

I cannot wait to read this, I've been softly shoved in this direction by a few group members who will remain nameless *You know who you are* so this should make you both very happy :)

Laura, so glad to hear your mom is doing better.

Kay, I was wondering where you'd been :)
