Yeah, good call waiting on Echo... Yikes!

Leea Hope the kids do good Regina and that you don't stress to much. Thinking about you!

Did you know the third is out now? I'm glad I won't have to wait!

Which series?

You will be tougher! I'm glad it went well.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I meant the Pamela Clare series. The romantic suspense I'd read of hers wasn't really my thing, but I heard her historicals were better.

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 602 comments Re: Untamed (MacKinnon's Rangers, #2) by Pamela Clare Chapter 2 (view spoiler) I'm never going to sleep again!

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Angie, yes the 3rd one just recently came out so we don't have to wait :)

message 6009: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Stacia I was not a fan of Clare's first two romantic suspense novels.

So I just wrote 6 reviews. Both the kids are sleeping and I am just writing and running between their two rooms.

message 6010: by Angie Elle (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 602 comments Stacia--This series is amazing so far! If it means anything, I highly recommend it.

Kay--Thank goodness! I don't 'wait' well. LOL

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I would like to read it soon, but I have one I'm working on now because I have an advanced copy of the second book, so I have to wait.

Hopefully the next time I'm in a mood for a historical though...unless I cave and reach for a Kleypas. She's my comfort food historical author.

message 6012: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments You can't go wrong w a Kleypas historical. I was thinking about her books today after reading Regina's review of Dream Lake.

Regina, are the rooms next to each other or close by?

I'll check your spoiler when I get there...I'm only on Ch 1.

message 6014: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) They are across from each other - so nearby!

message 6015: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Wow, I am on a roll with disappointing books! Just finished Goddess of Spring (Goddess Summoning, #2) by P.C. Cast and it was so...I don't even know the word for it. It was very cheesy, the dialogue was very unrealistic, and "middle-aged" and "43" and "Batman" popped up so many times. I don't need to be reminded of her age or the guy looking like Batman. I was literally being spoon fed in this book, which is not a nice feeling.

I'm really hoping the next book is going to be better! So I might start with Shadow Game (GhostWalkers, #1) by Christine Feehan .

I read that one not long ago and wasn't impressed with it either. I got so sick of her thinking of him as Batman, I wanted to slap her upside her head. I liked the world-building a little, but the rest just seemed so... I dunno, not very good YA or something. And I had really high hopes for it because the Hades/Persephone myth is my favorite, I really wanted something awesome and hot and, well, awesome! And it wasn't. And his showing up in her world there at the end all looking like a rhinestone cowboy... ugh, that did not put a sexy image in my mind at all. I won't continue the series after that one. The first one Goddess of the Sea was weird, but I pushed onto the second one specifically because of the Hades/Persephone thing... Sigh. I'm still waiting for an awesome H/P story...

message 6017: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Kit - I'm still waiting for a good Greek God/Goddess book! I read Dark Descendant (Nikki Glass, #1) by Jenna Black a few weeks ago and it wasn't my cup of tea.

I didn't read the first book of the Goddess Summoning series since the summary didn't interest me and I found the second one on clearance. Yeah, I'm not continuing the series.

I just made it to chapter ten and I have to crash. Six am will be here soon!

I didn't think it was possible, but I think I like this one better than Surrender so far.

Have a good night!

message 6020: by Leea (new)

Leea I felt the same way about Untamed... I couldn't put it down.

Regina, i'm so glad everyone is okay and sounds like they're keeping you busy. Hope it's a good night.

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments I finished Kiss of the Highlander (Highlander, #4) by Karen Marie Moning . I am glad I decided to continue with this series. I really enjoyed this book. It was definitely more engaging than the first three.

Now onto The Dark Highlander (Highlander, #5) by Karen Marie Moning . I am very fond of Daegus.

Marcella you made my day!! So glad you went on. I absolute love Dageus. The Dark Highlander (Highlander, #5) by Karen Marie Moning is one of my favorites in the series. I absolutely love the scene where they first have sex.

Regina (reginar) I am not sleeping at the hospital. I finished Cold Days (The Dresden Files, #14) by Jim Butcher and am starting his wife's book Finding the Lost (Sentinel Wars, #2) by Shannon K. Butcher

message 6026: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Thanks Regina! I'm really enjoying the series. A few of the girls I started the series with gave up on it. It wasn't bad enough for me to stop. So glad I didn't.

I must have missed a post or something. What are you doing at the hospital?

message 6027: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) 2 kids got their tonsils and adenoids out due to sleep apnea issues. :)

Those first three are so weirdly different than the last ones!

message 6028: by Angie Elle (last edited Dec 05, 2012 08:52AM) (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 602 comments After reading Seduction of a Highland Lass (McCabe Trilogy, #2) by Maya Banks and Untamed (MacKinnon's Rangers, #2) by Pamela Clare it's become clear to me that I like it when the hero is in a position where he has no choice but to let the heroin care for him.

It dawned on me today as I was thinking of my favorite Christmas read: Holly and Mistletoe (Hometown Heartbreakers, #6) (Silhouette Special Edition, #1071) by Susan Mallery . In this story, the firefighter hero breaks his ribs saving the heroine's cat, and she helps him until he's on his feet again.

Suggestions, anyone?

message 6030: by Lori (last edited Dec 05, 2012 09:29AM) (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Reading Guardians of Stone The Relic Seekers and loving it! Yes, I am a beta reader for Anita, but it's been months since I read the story. She's made a lot of subtle changes that make the story and characters stronger.

And yes, there's romance in there! Personally, I find Jake hot, but some might be more drawn to Nathan. But Jake is more of that alpha-male that does something about it; his talk might be tough, but at least he talks! I like Nathan, but he's the more brooding, Batman-Bruce Wayne type of guy - you never know what he's thinking.

BTW, Goodreads didn't have the Kindle version up yet. So I created the Kindle version of Guardians of Stone, but since I'm not a Librarian, I can't combine the Kindle edition with the hard copy book. Anyone here a Librarian?
