Regina, I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it once you're done.

I just finished it and I liked it but I felt like there was something missing. It has soooo many awesome elements that I loved but it needed that one thing to bring it all together. But I did like it and I'm definitely going to read Book 2.

Rachel my first thought is -- a moral compass? LOL. I have read nothing like this book before, the hero stealing cars? Aiming to murder people? No problem! I am really enjoying it though.

Miss talking books with you too Kay!!! I am back on my reading grind and hanging in there ;) Hope you and the kiddies are great!

Courtney | 337 comments Finally finished Archangel (Samaria, #1) by Sharon Shinn . It seemed like an eternity especially when the heroine is so dislikeable. Who wants to read about a brat?

Can't wait to start another book. I'll probably figure that out when I wake up!

Rachel the Book Harlot Regina wrote: "Rachel my first thought is -- a moral compass? LOL.

Haha! Yes, he definitely lives by his own rules! I also really loved his voice.

message 5257: by Leea (new)

Leea Headed home today. I hope to read more of Golden Trail (The 'Burg, #3) by Kristen Ashley in the car. I haven had a chance to read at all on this vacation.

I think our next vacation will be at some all inclusive resort with child care and lots and lots of drinks :)

message 5258: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Now that sounds fabulous! It will be good to have you back Leea.

Stacia are you officially done with KA?

Thank you :) I've missed chatting with you guys.

You can meet me at the resort... ;)

message 5261: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Leea - Glad you had a great time! And the next trip sounds even better!

I'm probably going to start The Spymaster's Lady by Joanna Bourne or finish reading The Stranger I Married by Sylvia Day .

message 5262: by Leea (new)

Leea My oldest just got car sick - yikes!!! Not fun to smell that for the next 5 hr.

message 5263: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments That sucks Leea.

message 5264: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Baking Powder is great to suck up that yucky stuff and cut the smell. I'd stop to get it if I were you! I have had to deal with that. Not fun.

message 5265: by Leea (new)

Leea Oh good idea! Thanks. It was in his flip flops. Ugh! We just want to get home at this point. Last time he got car sick was understandable coming down th e mountain from south Lake Tahoe.

message 5266: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Leea - Yikes! If that happened to me, I might be car sick, too.

message 5267: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) I'm reading The Big Book of Erotic Ghost Stories by Greg Wharton

message 5268: by Susan (new)

Susan | 19 comments I just started Just the Way You Are by Christina Dodd. Just the Way You Are (Lost Texas Heart Trilogy, Book #1) by Christina Dodd

message 5269: by Leea (new)

Leea I read Christina Dodds PNR a few years back and loved them. Can't wait to hear what you think ? :)

I have an iron clad stomach. I can read and eat while drivin down twisty roads and not get sick. I also love every roller coaster imaginable!!!

message 5270: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Leea - I love roller coasters, too, but I probably wouldn't go on a full stomach! I guess my stomach doesn't deal so well when I see someone else throwing up. I also read in the car and don't get car sick unless I'm riding in the very back!

message 5271: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) Ugh, not me I can't even be passenger for more than maybe ten minutes before I get dizzy and nauseous. Don't really puke (unless I've been drinking lol, then I might), but man it makes me unsteady for like 20 minutes after we get somewhere. So I usually always have to be the one driving. Never used to be that way until after I got pregnant with my son, from then on out I get sick unless I'm driving. Weird...

message 5272: by Aoibhínn (new)

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) Earlier, I finished reading The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson by Shirley Jackson. I was disappointed by this book to be honest. I felt the novel did not live up to the reputation it has gotten. I just felt like it was missing something. Plus I disliked all the characters and the strange dialogue between them really annoyed me. This is one novel where the movie, or in this case movies, are better than the book. My full review is here.

Next I'm going to read The Witching Hour (Lives of the Mayfair Witches, #1) by Anne Rice by Anne Rice.

message 5273: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Leea, I hope you made it home safely!

I finished reading When Lightning Strikes (Whiskey Creek Trilogy, #1) by Brenda Novak Always Something There to Remind Me by Beth Harbison Babygirl and the Mean Boss by Pepper Pace ...all were okay. I haven't had any luck with finding really good books that will fit my mood lately.

I'm off to search for my next read.

message 5274: by Leea (new)

Leea We're home! We stopped more times for bathrooms brakes than ever before. My husband was getting so pissed and I just kept laughing.

There is nothing like being home, I cannot wait to sleep in my bed :)

Almost done with Golden Trail (The 'Burg, #3) by Kristen Ashley and I have to say this one had a lot of filler and the plot is lacking... But i'm not done yet. I still have hope.

I might read Born in Fire (Born In Trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts next because I haven't read a Nora Robert book and I thought i'd get one under my belt.

message 5275: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Happy to have you back, Leea!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Finished The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes and I loved the historical parts of the book, but felt the modern day parts were lacking, so I had to split my rating down the middle. It ended in a beautiful way though and the parts that were moving were gorgeously written, so I'm glad that I read it.

Going back to Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1) by Leigh Bardugo and starting Toxic (Denazen, #2) by Jus Accardo tomorrow evening.

Dimitri. No question! Adrian is a fun distraction but should he pose a serious threat to that relationship I'll want him dead.

I took your advice and got both books out. Only just started book 3 and already glad I'll be able to sail right into book 4. :)

message 5281: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Hey Leea, when do you want to start Special Forces - Mercenaries Part I (Special Forces, #2 part 1) by Marquesate ?

I want to get that read this month, but I want to read it when you are. Are you still up for reading it? Do you want to plan on next weekend?

Its really good so far. Its a contemporary romance that has some humor added in.

message 5283: by Leea (new)

Leea I can start it later this week maybe, Friday? I've to a book i'm reading right now and a buddy read early in the week.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Just finished Slave (Finding Anna #1) by Sherri Hayes and it was much less dark than I was expecting. It was an interesting book with nothing too out there, surprisingly.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Leea wrote: "I can start it later this week maybe, Friday? I've to a book i'm reading right now and a buddy read early in the week."

Okay, that works for me. I'm reading 11/22/63 now and it'll probably take me that long to finish it.

message 5286: by [deleted user] (new)

I just read a contemporary short story ("The Swing of Her Hips" by Selene Grace Silver) about two people (an American teacher and a Scot) who decide love is not for them and embark on a summer fling, knowing it wouldn't be for keeps. Made me think a lot about how sometimes you have to get out there and risk heartbreak in order to find the right guy. Maybe I'm still not too old to try it myself!

message 5287: by [deleted user] (new)

Anyone read a good Regency lately? So many of the newer authors don't seem to "get" the period right. While I can forgive some mistakes, when the entire book seems to resemble 21st century America in period costumes, I want to throw my Kindle at the wall.

Then I see all the five-star reviews on Amazon and wonder if I'm the only one who really cares.

Oh you are?! I have had that on my kindle and the audiobook lined up but I just can't seem to get it started. I can't wait to read what you think.

message 5291: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) That's how I am about it too, but my friend has been begging me to read it. I hit my goal for the year so I figured I'll go ahead and give it a shot.

message 5292: by Leea (new)

Leea I bought it for my BIL for Christmas last year and he really enjoyed it.

I'm reading my first Nora Roberts book, Born in Fire. It's really quite good, this is one time when I let me predisposed ideas get in the way of a good book.

message 5293: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Glad you are enjoying it. Before I started reading PNR (or even knew it existed) I loved Robert's PNR trilogies. I devoured them:

Blue Dahlia (In The Garden, #1) by Nora Roberts Black Rose (In The Garden, #2) by Nora Roberts Red Lily (In The Garden, #3) by Nora Roberts

Morrigan's Cross (Circle Trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts Dance of the Gods (Circle Trilogy, #2) by Nora Roberts Valley of Silence (Circle Trilogy, #3) by Nora Roberts

Dance Upon The Air (Three Sisters Island, #1) by Nora Roberts Heaven and Earth (Three Sisters Island, #2) by Nora Roberts Face the Fire (Three Sisters Island, #3) by Nora Roberts

Blood Brothers (Sign of Seven, #1) by Nora Roberts The Hollow (Sign of Seven, #2) by Nora Roberts The Pagan Stone (Sign of Seven, #3) by Nora Roberts

Then I moved on to Conquering Passion by Anna Marland That's the first in the Montbryce series that one was so good I've gone straight into the second in the series A Man of Value.

Rachel the Book Harlot Barbara wrote:"Anyone read a good Regency lately? "

Hi Barbara, you might like A Lady's Lesson in Scandal by Meredith Duran by Meredith Duran. This one has gotten some mixed reviews but I loved it. :) You might want to check out the sample on Amazon just to see if it's something you might like.
