All Around the Town - Mary Higgins Clark
(I tried reading this novel, but found the characters flat and couldn't continue. I did, however, very much enjoy the made-for-tv movie based on this book.)

The Cat Who Covered the World: The Adventures Of Henrietta And Her Foreign Correspondent* - Christopher S. Wren
This book is a favorite of both my husband and me (and we read nothing remotely similar). If there is only one nonfiction book that you read this year, then The Cat Who Covered the World: The Adventures Of Henrietta And Her Foreign Correspondent should be it. It is delightful.
