Jeffrey | 204 comments I saw an ad for The Name of the Wind in which George Martin complemented this two book series. It brought to my mind, what series or trilogy, so far only up to two novels, are you most keen for the third book.

In my mind, the best series in which only two books have been published are:

The Kingkiller Chronicle (Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear) by Patrick Rothfuss

The Demon Cycle (The Warded Man and The Desert Spear) by Peter Brett

Mrs. Quent (The Magicians and Mrs. Quent and The House on Durrow Street) by Galen M. Beckett

Whats on your list

Arun (arzvi) | 40 comments The Hyperion cantos(not including the endymion books) - the hyperion and the fall of hyperion. A bit overdescriptive, but its the reason why I still feel awe when I think of the books. It felt I was there in the war.

Sandra (sleo) The Lighthouse Duology by Carol Berg. Flesh and Spirit and Breath and Bone

Snail in Danger (Sid) Nicolaides (upsight) | 540 comments Flora Segunda and Flora's Dare ... Flora's Fury is almost here!

Also looking forward to Black Heart, and Whispers Under Ground. And I will be interested to see what Beckett does in The Master of Heathcrest Hall.

Your thread title is kind of confusing, which is probably why people are listing duologies. (In that department, I enjoyed Coronets and Steel and Blood Spirits.)

Carolyn (seeford) | 203 comments I've just finished the first book in a series, and it's excellent. I have the second one upstairs, so I'll be starting it tonight.. The third book is still being written, so it definitely fits this thread. It's the Books of the Raksura series, by Martha Wells.
I'm also really looking forward to the last book in Kristin Cashore's Graceling series, Bitterblue, which is due to be published any day now.
