Kim-Lost-In-A-Book Sure thing Nicole. I think you and Beth will both enjoy it. I love dragons too, Beth :-)

Kim-Lost-In-A-Book oh by the way, Beth if you like dragons you may like Dragonfriend Leonard the Great, Book One by Roger Eschbacher it's very good. It's definitely written for a younger audience (11-14ish maybe) but it's a very good dragon book. The author is working on book two (that was supposed to be out last year lol).

and if you like Fantasy and mythical/mystical creatures you may like the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull - also very good!! Fablehaven (Fablehaven, #1) by Brandon Mull

message 855: by Beth (new)

Beth (bbulow) Ooo, thank you Nicole. I still love kids books and YA books, so those look like they are right up my alley! Thanks for showing them to me :)

message 856: by Kim-Lost-In-A-Book (last edited Jan 22, 2013 06:15PM) (new)

Kim-Lost-In-A-Book I love YA and children's literature too :-D
I'm actually on the final book of the Fablehaven series now for the 2nd time, only this time I'm reading it aloud to the family and they're loving it too! I am finding that I like it even more this 2nd time around, I think because I'm reading it out loud - it's definitely a good "read aloud" book :-)

message 857: by Beth (new)

Beth (bbulow) I've heard so much about that series! It seems really cute & fun. I hope that I will read aloud to my (future) kids. :)

message 858: by Aoibhínn (new)

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) I've finished reading Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford by Jamie Ford last night. I really loved this book! Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet is a beautiful, fascinating, tender and moving story from beginning to end. Like the title suggests, the story is such a bitter-sweet tale, heartbreaking at times and so warm and sweet in others. All the characters were vivid, well-developed and realistic. I really loved the characters of Henry, Keiko and Sheldon, and really cared about what happened to them. I found it really hard to put this novel down and I look forward to reading more from this author! I gave this novel 5 Stars!

Now I'm a few chapters into The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck by John Steinbeck.

Thanks I am not that far but I have already been laughing and grinning like crazy.I love Georgette Heyer.I am enjoying the small village setting.I have lived most of my childhood in a small town and a small island town.

It was hard picking which book to read.It was between 5 different Heyer's,Edenbrooke, and a Zebra Regency Romance.

It was a book club that specialized in regency romance novels. It doesn't run anymore it stopped in 2005.I heard that these are usually clean or cleaner then other current regency romance.I found one for 2 dollars and desided to check it out.

I have only heard good things bout Edenbrooke. But I haven't read any non-Heyer Regency so I hope I'm not disappointed. It hard when your intro into the genre is the queens of it Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer.

Nelleke, the cover is a big part of my choosing a book as well. I did like When Autumn Leaves. I can see where it wouldn't be for everyone, it just depends on if you like magical stories because this one is nothing but magic. It's very good though, it seems a bit disjointed when you're reading it but things are tied together in the end.
