Danielle (dmansell) | 135 comments Ahh - I told myself no more challenges this year but I can't say no to this one. I plan on reading 3 from each list. I will choose 3 that I already have in my TBR pile and if I don't have enough in the TBR I will make up the difference from the top 3 that I have not read before (unless I don't feel like reading those in which case I reserve the right to pick from the list at random).

1. City of Bones - Cassandra Clare
2. Daughter of the Forest - Juliet Marillier
3. Sunshine - Robin McKinley

Best Steampunk Books

1.The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters, Volume 2 - Gordon Dahlquist

I'll keep track of this challenge with the rest of my challenges in my members corner thread and I'll post updates here periodically.

message 67: by Tatum (new)

Tatum | 459 comments I'm with you Danielle, it's hard to ignore a good challenge! And with this one, it can help to get books read that you've been meaning to read anyways so it's not quite so bad lol :)

message 68: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Welcome to the challenge, Danielle! :)

message 69: by Rebecca (last edited Apr 25, 2012 03:38PM) (new)

Rebecca (inexplicablybookish) | 24 comments Greetings! I'm totally in on this challenge. I love lists! There are so many to pick from! I decided to limit myself to three lists, for now, and do the top 12 from each list. Some of these lists may include books I read before 2012, so when that happens I will remove it from my 12 and pick the next book in line - that way I can have a nice, neat, even, 36 books for the challenge total!

Ashley I'm planning to read 1984 at some point this year, Jess. Did you like it? I have you updated. :)

message 78: by Nathan (new)

Nathan (nthnlwly) I read 1984 a few years back. I enjoyed it quite a bit actually. Not that I would want to read it again or anything... haha

message 79: by Erika (new)

Erika (readingbutterfly) | 511 comments Trevor wrote: "I read 1984 a few years back. I enjoyed it quite a bit actually. Not that I would want to read it again or anything... haha"

I read that book years ago, like over 15 years ago, when I was in high school. It is actually eerie when you think about how close we are to some of the concepts in the book. World domination...muhahaha!!

message 80: by Jess (new)

Jess B | 11 comments Thanks, Ashley! To be honest...I'm not sure I've decided how I feel about it. I think I gave it a three star rating and have been trying to decide whether I like it more than that. I'm just not sure I like where the book went in the end! It was a good, compelling read though and yes, eerie is a good word for it. :)

message 81: by Anna (new)

Anna Wadlow (awadlow42) | 87 comments Still working on this...I think I might be getting somewhere with it...lol

message 82: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Take your time, Anna. :) There are so many lists. I understand how hard it is to pick one. I changed my lists three times before mine stuck, haha.

I finished The Iron King by Julie Kagawa today for book 3/17.

Danielle (dmansell) | 135 comments I've finished my first book in the Listopia Challenge -

message 86: by Johanna (new)

Johanna | 766 comments I have five now :)

message 88: by Catherine (last edited Apr 09, 2012 05:04AM) (new)

Catherine | 6 comments I finally settled on a list! I have only read the top four, so have just picked a further ten from the list. I've left the tenth slot open, as there are several books that are firsts in a series on my list, and I'm sure I'll get caught up and want to read the next one straight away!
