when a dvd stops and then misses an entire scene because it is old and hasn' been cleaned in eons.

Stimulate the economy and buy a Blu-ray. Forget about any bills looming over head, that's what credit is for silly... eh, oh yeah.
I hate it when that happens, and then when you take the DVD back to the video store, they scold you for not bringing it back sooner. Like you were trying to scam more time for watching that gem you rented, which in my case was The Goonies.

Blu-ray is a dead-end format, Nick. The future is downloadable and streamable movies.

although, did you know that the PS3 actually reads SD dvds better than a regular dvd player? (oh, the things renting ancient tv shows from netflix teaches you...) plus, up-resed SD looks better than that crap time warner tries to pass off as HD.
