Shattered Glass

Questions? =D

Oh just so it's clear. I'm judging the threesomes/open relationships based on each situation.
Like...if Peter was to get involved in some smeksitime that included someone else than Austin now, like...how SG ended, I'd probably throw a temper tantrum.
Mjehhhh...I might have been ok with it...it all depends. My moral compass operates out of its own set of rules.
If you look at Toreth from TA I don't mind him trying to fuck his way through humankind. But if you look at Bareback Tornado's infidelity there totally ruined the book for me.

I try not to use bisexual often. I more base my characters on the Kinsey scale.

Peter would probably be a 3. Cai is probably a 4, he just can't see the grass through the

I don't think of you as a judgey person at all, Aiko =). And in the current SG, no way would Peter cheat or even approve of sex outside the relationship.
1. Because he knows Austin would be devastated. Austin's cheating days were over the moment he admitted he was gay. He didn't have any pressure after that.
2. They're not using condoms anymore. Peter's too pragmatic for frivolous sex.
3. They're both happy =D (Until I shake things up)

I totally agree about Toreth. Jeez that's a good series.
It's like Brian in QAF. (view spoiler) . Season Five made me throw things.
I guess I'm a happy endings kinda guy *snort*.

Austin can swing to a 4 for sure, especially emotionally. But he was never really good in bed with women. =D Hell, he's not even that good in bed with Peter until they've been together for a while.
And Cai...he's still young =D Lots he doesn't know about himself (until NSI =) He's a little more clued in now). He's definitely on a scale of his own. His scale is more 0 being hetero, 6 being Riley. In which case he's a 10. HAHA
Virginia wrote: "So glad you changed what happened with Darryl. Love him.
Thanks for the deleted sex scene. I so wanted to be the fly on the wall when Austin and Peter moved to more...cough...penetration...cough...."
Haha Virginia, I think the actual scene with them now would be funnier rather than sexy. AUstin would see that bottle of lube and ... oh man the image in my head. I really need to write that some day.
Dani, I was with you 100% until this:
3. They're both happy =D (Until I shake things up)
Now you are getting the ugly scowl-face.

Can't wait to read it :D and I promise I have no knives!
About the monogamy/non monogamy, for me it's all about mutual trust: if they both enjoy an open relationship I like it, if only one is happy (My example here would be Dan/Vadim), not so much.
And "Until I shake things up" ... what??? Dani you're evil! LOL

3. They're both happy =D (Until I shake things up)
Now you are getting the ugly scowl-face."
I'm scowling along with Kate here. Don't make them unhappy? *bambi eyes* <--this never works, but desperate times and so on..

LOL Nothing too bad, but definitely problems. Bumps in the road to Austin growing up and Peter putting up with him =D.
In other news (where I put my foot in my mouth): To quote myself, because that sounded weird lol: Dani wrote: "I try not to use bisexual often. I more base my characters on the Kinsey scale."
Bisexual is a perfectly valid term. I just don't tend to use it, even while it's an accurate word for a lot of my characters. There's nothing weird or wrong about the term bisexual. In regards to my writing, it feels so absolute with my characters, whereas I can't make anything absolute. lol just making myself clearer =)

I've come to realize I don't have much power...at all ^^
I can deal with problems though. Problems can be solved.

Whew...small bumps are ok.

Let me just say what bumps and problems lead to (in order to change your mind): Hate sex, makeup sex, Austin growing up, and possibly Austin topping at some point =D (yes, these are all things I have planned in future
Silver Iris wrote: "You didn't stick your foot in your mouth at all in terms of why you dont use bisexual. Your explanation makes total sense. These are your guys & you know them best. I love them as they are and cant wait for Cai & Darryl. "
=D Thanks, Silver <3.
Oh well, if THAT'S what you have planned for Austin and Peter I can't wait. Sorry Bunny Slippers, but promises of angry sex, makeup sex, Austin topping are all enough to bribe me. :D

Tease! LOL
I hear what you say about the term bisexual.

=D

:) Of course it's valid. I don't make such offers very often, mostly because of my crazy RL schedules and the piles of work I'm faced with seven days a week. But for this? I'll make the time.
You're my hero, L. All Dani-enabling is encouraged. :)
*kisses*
*kisses*

*right back at you* (both the hero and the kisses part)

=D"
As long as they are together "for better and for worse" I would say that shaky rides are part of life.

LOL! This could get interesting...

Awesome! No hurry though. =D I'm still writing NSI, so I have a hard time concentrating on two books/scenes.

Dammit. Now I"m also tempted to write crack, too. *adds to list of To Write*

=) Thanks so much, Alex. I'm so glad you liked it and the cover images. I did have a long search for them and while I know I had my own vision of what the characters looked like, I realize that many people developed their own (such is the nature of books!) Which is what makes reading so much fun. You can picture what you want, unlike movies, even if the author had a different vision!
No need to think of a question! Just learning you loved my book is enough to keep me walking on sunshine for a while =D.

=D *grin* you're not alone. Kate, Marleen and Aiko I think all have a thing for Tinkerbelle. And don't worry, making Darryl kick peoples' asses is easier than ordering drive-thru. =D Thanks for reading, Naph <3 Really glad you liked it/him.

“Do you know what I did to the last guy that called me Tinkerbelle?"
"Slept with him?"
Darryl was silent for a second. "After that.”"
Haha You're definitely not alone either, Virginia. It does sum him up in just a few sentences.

I'm late to the discussion, but can I just say that I really like that you did this? Even though I was initially disappointed that they didn't have intercourse, once I had a chance to reflect on this, I came to the realization that what you did with Peter and Austin made a lot of sense. Yeah they're in love and living together and all that, but they've known each other what? two+ weeks? (Not counting Pete's time in the hospital). And Austin lived his whole life as a straight man before that, so it wouldn't be realistic for him to be ok with having anal sex with Pete right away.
I think my initial disappointment has to do with the fact that I've been kinda spoiled by novels past, in which the gay-in-denial character almost always immediately jumps into bed with his love-interest once he's able to finally admits his homosexuality to himself. But that's not how it works in real life. The year-long wait you mentioned sounds a lot more reasonable.
And what is Elaine talking about!? That parking lot sex scene was awesome! Especially the cum-shot-in-the-face at the end. That was my favorite part. Totally turned me on. I hardly ever get to read about people getting facials in romances (unless it's one of those bdsm books), so that was a real treat. Could you throw another one of those in in a future novel somewhere down the line?

I loved that scene! Loved loved loved it! This was such a significant moment for me in the book because I kind of shattered too when I read it. All this time I've been in Austin's head, seeing through his eyes, hearing with his ears, taking on his evaluation of the world around him as my own... so I was just as wrong and blinded as he was about who Peter was. When Austin started listing all the things Peter did for him and comparing it to how he's treated Peter, everything was put into perspective for me. I was like "shit, he's right! How did I witness all of these things about Peter and still somehow build up this impression of him as a cold, calculating person?" At this part, I actually went back to the beginning of the book and read the whole thing over again, this time looking at Peter with new eyes.
I also understood the significance of the book title at this part and thought you a genius for giving it such a denotative name. Job well done there, buddy.

I was under the impression that Austin gave good head... if all that moaning Pete did in the parking lot is to be believed.
Unless he was just playing it up for Austin's sake... you know, occupational habit and all that. hehe. I know, I know... What an asshole thing to say about Pete, right? Sry. Couldn't help myself from poking at him one last time. God, I miss these guys.

Question: Are we ever going to see David again? I really enjoyed his friendship with Austin. Now that he's gone, though, Austin's got no one left to hang out and watch the games with. *tsk* Poor guy. I hope all that off-screen sex he's having with Peter will be enough to distract him from his current friendless status.

That's awesome! Thank you for sharing it =) Gawd that's just so sweet <3 <3

I've been lurking around, reading all the posts here. I just wanted to tell you that I am such a HUGE fan of yours. I've read SG probably 10 times already, and am currently re-reading it again. I'm hoping we get Cai's story soon, pretty pretty please. Ok, so that's pretty much it, I'll go back into my hidey hole now...

Hey Alicia =)
I'm glad you came out of lurkdom! I really enjoy when I hear from people. This is a long long thread to go through =) I think you need a medal for reading it all!
I hope you don't stay in your hidey hole. I know how hard it is to overcome being shy, but once you do, it gets so much easier to chat with everyone here. =)
Thank you so much for the lovely words and, wow, I'm overwhelmed. <3
Hey Dani, if you're swearing off of them I'll take all your extras! Thanks!!!!!!
:P
:P

PS: My editors is going to go nutso(in the happy way) when she sees there are hardly any "!"'s in NSI, until Darryl walks in. Then it's like ninja ~!~ whoopass everywhere.

Thanks >8( Now I've got Fanta up my nose, Emanuela.
Dani, have you put smilies in your manuscript????!! O.o
You ought to. Just for the fun of cycling your editor. Plus I'm glad to see that Darryl remains a non-conformist. :D

Forgiven!

Now I'm adding them. Just randomly to see what she says. She's never read me uncensored (this is her first MS by me). She might double her fee *SNORT*
I know what Tim will do. He'll circle them and highlight them and then send a comment back on the side with "Really? REALLY?".

Excellent. It's always good to discover whether or not someone has the right sense of humor for the job. :>

Dani I will read this though!"
=D Just do what I'm planning when I reread it: Repeat the mantra--This isn't the real Peter. This isn't the real Austin. This isn't the real Shattered Glass.
It's like...AU Fanfiction haha.
Marleen wrote: "I'm not a monogamy fundamentalist. Bring it on!"
LOL \o/ I'm a total monogamy fundamentalist. I can't stand cheating and I won't read stories with open relationships.
After I wrote this piece, I felt like I had finally broken through as a writer because it did fit the characters in that particular story. (not in the current one at ALL).
Aiko wrote: "Oh Dani you must think I'm the lowest scum on earth if you believe I'd ever boot you off your cloud. You deserve that spot! I'd happily come visit if you have cookies though ;D

Threesome and Peter =D (sort of watching, sort of taking part).
