My mind is running wild with mental images of Darryl Peter and Austin getting it on....My mind is not to be trusted!!!Oh just so it's clear. I'm judging the threesomes/open relationships based on each situation.
Like...if Peter was to get involved in some smeksitime that included someone else than Austin now, like...how SG ended, I'd probably throw a temper tantrum.
Mjehhhh...I might have been ok with it...it all depends. My moral compass operates out of its own set of rules.
If you look at Toreth from TA I don't mind him trying to fuck his way through humankind. But if you look at Bareback Tornado's infidelity there totally ruined the book for me.
Let's put it this way: If the author can convince me the couple does not need to be monogamous, I am willing to go along for the ride. Like Toreth and Warrick, as Aiko mentioned. I might wish for Toreth to stop fucking around, but then he would not be Toreth anymore and it really does not make me hate the story that he needs to fuck other people. If the couple is at least monogamish (as Dan Savage puts it so well), and the author makes it convincing, I am good.

I don't think of you as a judgey person at all, Aiko =). And in the current SG, no way would Peter cheat or even approve of sex outside the relationship.
1. Because he knows Austin would be devastated. Austin's cheating days were over the moment he admitted he was gay. He didn't have any pressure after that.
2. They're not using condoms anymore. Peter's too pragmatic for frivolous sex.

About the monogamy/non monogamy, for me it's all about mutual trust: if they both enjoy an open relationship I like it, if only one is happy (My example here would be Dan/Vadim), not so much.

Bisexual is a perfectly valid term. I just don't tend to use it, even while it's an accurate word for a lot of my characters. There's nothing weird or wrong about the term bisexual. In regards to my writing, it feels so absolute with my characters, whereas I can't make anything absolute. lol just making myself clearer =)
Oh, I've tried tears and pleading and begging...I've come to realize I don't have much power...at all ^^

Hi Dani, just wanted to shout out: I loved your book and I reviewed it here on goodreads! Also thank you for taking the time to find the cover images, they are fantastic... I too want Anne Cain to produce covers for me and control drove me to self publish as well. I understand how many hours can pass as one searches for the models to grace their book covers, but it is so worth it. I can't wait for your next book, gosh I wish I could think of a question... i know this is a Q & A thing... sorry, just too excited.

I did have a long search for them and while I know I had my own vision of what the characters looked like, I realize that many people developed their own (such is the nature of books!) Which is what makes reading so much fun. You can picture what you want, unlike movies, even if the author had a different vision!

i have to say i love Darryl,cause he kicks ass! and his no damsel in distress,you would think his all soft and sweet and then... he opens his mouth. i know his story is after cia's but it makes the wait all the more better.so forgive me if am disappointing wen Darryl's story comes out and his not using his black belt to kick everybody"s ass!(no pressure)

I think my initial disappointment has to do with the fact that I've been kinda spoiled by novels past, in which the gay-in-denial character almost always immediately jumps into bed with his love-interest once he's able to finally admits his homosexuality to himself. But that's not how it works in real life. The year-long wait you mentioned sounds a lot more reasonable.
And what is Elaine talking about!? That parking lot sex scene was awesome! Especially the cum-shot-in-the-face at the end. That was my favorite part. Totally turned me on. I hardly ever get to read about people getting facials in romances (unless it's one of those bdsm books), so that was a real treat. Could you throw another one of those in in a future novel somewhere down the line?

I also understood the significance of the book title at this part and thought you a genius for giving it such a denotative name. Job well done there, buddy.

You'd think reading 9 pages of this stuff would be tedious, but the conversations here are quite funny, even if a bit...bizarre at times. I actually quite enjoyed browsing through all your comments. Plus, spoilers abound! I would have missed out on a number of important notes had I not sifted through these like an obsessive freak. Question: Are we ever going to see David again? I really enjoyed his friendship with Austin. Now that he's gone, though, Austin's got no one left to hang out and watch the games with. *tsk* Poor guy. I hope all that off-screen sex he's having with Peter will be enough to distract him from his current friendless status.

After I wrote this piece, I felt like I had finally broken through as a writer because it did fit the characters in that particular story. (not in the current one at ALL).
