I can't even oh gawd LOL. You owe me a new keyboard. I'm going to remind myself not to read your posts while drinking water.

LOL. I recommend you do not drink water if you ever decide to read my 1 and 2 star reviews then either, they tend to get a little snarky. I can't afford to buy you new keyboards that often. (Oh, stay away from my The Locker Room review too. It is a sneaky like ninja 5 star review.)

Oh yeah that battle was epic. The Italians won by bribing everyone with sex and gelato. Don't ask, Dani, it was a tragic day.

Hah I love sneaky ninjas! (You'll really appreciate that word if you read NSI. So funny that you use it now).

I haven't read Amy Lane yet, which is to my shame. I think that I have a pretty broad taste level, but tbh, I mostly like books by writers like Aleksander and Josh Lanyon. They really are more my style. Oh and Mahsa's "Muffin" - which is such a shame was lost in teh revamp of AFF.net. (warning if you look that story up it does not have a hfn or a hea and the sequel is very slow in updating)

Then, lol, there's my other spectrum: RJ Scott and Kate Sherwood. I mean for goto buys. I tend to read other stories as well.

I'm not sure what made me pick up a copy of Shying Away, but I did and ... it's a really slow moving book, not something I always like, but I did like it. And The Christmas Throwaway was another I liked which was filled with a lot of things I generally don't find myself drawn to: overly perfect characters and ... is it okay to call it "fluff" when I liked the book?

I'm tired and rambling =D haha if you want my all time favorite writer: Jonathan Kellerman. I haven't put his books on my list because I want to take my time and re-read/review each one lol. In case you haven't read him, his main sidekick and secondary character is gay and so well-portrayed =D.

Wow do I type a lot. I should go to bed.

Dani, you should check out this on-line comic:Teahouse which is both pretty and lots of fun and try Twisted Hilarity's The Last Pure Human which is something that really shouldn't work for me but manages it anyway. Great sense of humor.

PS. Don't try either if you are feeling serious. On the other hand, they can be a great pick me up for "gloomy".

Night, night.

message 156: by Dani (new)

Dani Alexander =D I have Teahouse and Starfighter on permanent RSS feed. I also love Twisted Hilarity. <3 Hamlet Machine runs my life, I swear to you.

message 157: by [deleted user] (new)

Oooh, Starfighter. That hasn't updated in awhile. *frustrated*

Aiko Kate Mc. wrote: "Oooh, Starfighter. That hasn't updated in awhile. *frustrated*"

The glorious torment of WIP addiction. When they do get updated I act like a 12 year old that just scored front row tickets to a Bieber concert though. So the feelgood outweighs the frustration...most days..

ElaineY MandyM wrote: "In fact I was confused at first when someone mentioned there wasn't a big sex scene. It all just seemed so hot to me. "

That was me, Mandy. I wanted at least one private full-on sex scene between Austin and Peter at the end of a rather long story, even in an epilogue a year down the line? I don't care if that made the book even longer since I love long books.

But...this is how Dani sees her boys and I'm just thankful and still amazed at getting such a good read from a self-published author.

It's definitely not fun to wait for a story. I don't do read them very often.

Kate Mc. wrote: "Oooh, Starfighter. That hasn't updated in awhile. *frustrated*"

I know. =( But being able to buy chapter two would be great.

I think I was just so completely engrossed in their relationship I didn't notice the lack of anal! LOL
But I just reread it yesterday, thinking about your comments, and I am definitely looking forward to maybe another story in the future where they get it on.;) But in the meantime that sex scene in the carpark was HOT! I think I was just ecstatic to read an m/m romance that didn't use the ubiquitous, "F*ck Yeah, ream that ass" type dialogue/scenario. Which seems to be all some writers are capable of!;)

Dani Alexander Lisa wrote: "I would suppose there may be some cameos of Peter, Cai and Darryl etc as supporting characters?"

Most definitely. It's so hard to say goodbye to a character that if I get an opportunity and it makes sense in the story, I'll put them in. Angelica will also be featured in NSI so =D.

If peter used that type of expression, it would be a performance. It wouldn't ever be serious @@. I do get how that can be sexy to some people, though. I think at times I've been turned on by that. I definitely have to be in the mood and I have to be reading Erotica. SG definitely doesn't fall under erotica category. Some of my future shorts might though =D (*snort, shorts, snort*)

I liked their carpark scene too lol. And I might write their first time, but honestly, Austin when he's uncomfortable and embarrassed? Not so much sexy as snort-worthy.

ElaineY Dani wrote: "And I might write their first time, but honestly, Austin when he's uncomfortable and embarrassed? Not so much sexy as snort-worthy. "

Dani, I'd read anything you write for Austin!

=D Porn! It's always better when you know the characters inside and out (*snicker, inside and out, *snicker*)

I did love that car scene and I do love Peter and his domineering. RAWR.

I saw and thank you, Kate, so much. It's terrifying and awesome at the same time. I think I nearly fainted when I saw it today. But after that, I did dance around, ngl. It wasn't a pretty sight.

Marleen wrote: "Congratulations! It's deserved!"

Awesome =D it's good to hear the book can stand up against a reading again. That doesn't always happen.

You're going to give me heart failure with all these good things you're saying!

Aiko wrote: "Dani wrote: "But after that, I did dance around, ngl. It wasn't a pretty sight."

The last time I was coordinated was in fourth grade or so when I threw a baseball at Linda Brin's head and actually hit it dead on. SInce then my coordination has fallen mainly in the get-to-the-bathroom-without-tripping-over-my-own-feet stage.

message 182: by Dani (new)

Dani Alexander I usually post these snippets of dialogue from Not So Innocent on my twitter feed, but this is a spoiler, so I can't really do it there lol.

I'll just include it here, even though it's from NSI. FYI the first dialogue tag is Riley. I'm not ready to post what comes before or after it =D But it will be posted as part of the preview eventually (it's basically in the first few pages of chapter 1)

As always, this may be changed, tweaked or destroyed in editing =D Read at your own risk.

(view spoiler)

message 184: by [deleted user] (new)

LOL LOL LOL. Go Cai!

message 185: by Aiko (new) - rated it 5 stars

Aiko Nnnnggggghhhhhh!! Can I start nagging about when NSI comes out now? Cai <3

Grand Rapids Michigan Love the Cai spoiler! and it'll be funny when read in the story, too, so ... no spoiler. I understand Dani publicly says, "I hate to be pressured to submit my stories", but in reality, she absolutely loves it, so ... who's up for starting an NSI sign-up sheet: person 1 nags her every monday, person 2 every tuesday, etc., etc. ??

message 187: by Dani (new)

Dani Alexander *goes in search of a new editor*

*whistles*

Grand Rapids Michigan ok, but then the sign up sheet will be edited to include morning, afternoon and evenings on each day of the week instead of only once daily. as the main character said in Willow: "Hey! i will NOT be ignored?" ;-)

message 189: by [deleted user] (new)

I could do nagging. But I'm babysitting Daryl for her already, which I think is enough headache.

Grand Rapids Michigan u probably just want to borrow the pink chaps? ;-) i would never think of nagging her, really. never. not even, well ... almost never.

message 191: by Dani (new)

Dani Alexander If I post spoilers, Lisa, I'll do it here or on the website. But I do stick random quotes that Cai or a character says in teh course of plotting. Some of them are not used, some just make me headdesk.

This one's not even in teh book. It was just Peter exasperated the other day while I was editing for the 35th time lol:

PETER:Raising 6 yr old not as difficult as dating man with the maturity of one.

And this one prob won't be in teh book (but it might, I keep deleting it, readding it, deleting it):

Cai: "I...um, I think maybe if I went to prison, I wouldn't worry about conjugal visits, Julian."

message 192: by Dani (new)

Dani Alexander Tim wrote: "u probably just want to borrow the pink chaps? ;-) i would never think of nagging her, really. never. not even, well ... almost never."

You're not allowed to talk about Darryl's chaps unless you want to sleep with him. I'm putting my foot down, Tim =P.

Kate wrote: "I could do nagging. But I'm babysitting Daryl for her already, which I think is enough headache."

Man, I can't thank you enough for that either. I can finally lay down and think about Cai's plotting and not Darryl horning in with an argument he and his LI are having (or he and Cai are having or he and Austin are having or he and Peter, Zhavra, Angelica and... pretty much anyone who dares brush against the chip on his shoulder).

message 193: by [deleted user] (new)

Dani wrote: "Cai: "I...um, I think maybe if I went to prison, I wouldn't worry about conjugal visits, Julian." "

You have to work that in somewhere, somehow. :D

And yes Tim, part of Daryl's pissy behavior is because I borrowed the chaps. I have NO idea why he's raising such a fuss over the drink that got spilled on them. Something about did I know how fucking hard it was to get leather cleaned. I dunno, I stopped listening to him. Meanwhile he's tied up and gagged.

Grand Rapids Michigan Kate: "And yes Tim, part of Daryl's pissy behavior is because I borrowed the chaps..."

* * *

I can see this site could become addictive, and that's just over the comments without getting to any stories. ;-) As a newbie, i'm just gonna (well, try and force myself to) sit back and observe for awhile so i don't come up with a terrible case of foot-in-mouth disease.

message 195: by Aiko (new) - rated it 5 stars

Aiko You spilled drinks on the chaps Kate?! *gasp in horror* I'm freeing Darryl! You deserve whatever that boy can dish out now

LenaLena I'll argue with Darryl for a while whenever you need him distracted. It'll be a nice break from arguing with my 8 year old.

LenaLena Where's the fun in that, Tim?

Grand Rapids Michigan Marleen wrote: "Where's the fun in that, Tim?"

i think the goal is self-preservation. ;-) i'll throw in a comment every now and again, mostly to keep "Diva Dani" honest. ;-) [ seriously, i'm SOO glad to see her getting the appreciation. i thot it was great in every way, but i thot that might be just me. ]

Lol I'll have a.better one. I hope.

Oh, Kate, not the pink chaps. Why kate? Why?

Damn tablet won't let me multiquote grrrr!

@ Lisa Glad you're enjoying :)

@marleen naked mantoys work best. Esp the ones that think they're tougher than him.

@aiko she did it, yes, but think of the good part now: Darryl is bound and gagged! Uh oh Julian heard that...

@Tim diva dani ... new pen name? :)
