LOL Thanks Sara! Always fun to be inspired and inspire others to read the classics. Doing a lot of that this year I hope! (Both the inspiring part, and the being inspired, as well as the actual reading part. LOL)Be aware of the tediously long pages and paragraphs of fish descriptions though. I just skimmed past them and didn't feel like I missed a thing. ;)
I'm certainly falling behind my reading schedule! I think losing interest in my first read (Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children) has led to me lose steam early on. I hope that it doesn't continue this way! I'm quite excited for my next read (MWF Seeking BFF); I hope that enthusiasm is enough to get me going again. I have a lot of books to get through this month! How are you guys enjoying your books? Are you on track with your challenges, or are you falling behind too?
I'm actually right on track :) ... I have the list of books I need to read this month and next month lined up and will add in my year long challenges in between :)
Melissa wrote: "I'm actually right on track :) ... I have the list of books I need to read this month and next month lined up and will add in my year long challenges in between :)"Good for you!! I had a list too. It's sticking to it that's becoming a problem... xP
1. (home run: place to live) Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by R. Riggs | Rating: 3 starsThe fact that I'm so relieved to have finished this book really should make me decrease it's rating to 2 stars. haha.
A review is in my personal goal thread.
2/10 completed
This is the first month that I've made a concrete reading schedule and it's working out well for me actually. Excepting for the fact that I haven't read 11/22/63 and wound up reading 2 books that were slated for later this month. But it's still helped me to organize and read more than I otherwise would have.
Melissa wrote: "lol .. understandable .. life gets in the way sometimes .. dang it LOL"I know right! haha. Stupid life, can't it see I'm trying to read!!! >:{

haha. amen!
Melissa wrote: "Stupid life, can't it see I'm trying to read!!! >:{ that should be a bumper sticker!!"
Agreed!
@Trevor: Like an order and when they should be started/done by, so many chapters/day of each.
Tatum wrote: "@Trevor: Like an order and when they should be started/done by, so many chapters/..."Very cool idea.
I'm on track for one of my goals for a group - the Dusty Bookshelf, whose goal is to read those books which have been on our shelves longest (whatever that means for us individually). My personal yearly goal of 52 books includes that half of those be books I already own, so 26 books, and for THAT goal I'm on track. For the full year's goal, though, I'm running 3 books behind. I guess that's okay though because I currently have 3 books in progress, so all is well. ROFL!
I am so behind in my reading! I started a new job that was too much for me since I had no energy to do anything else. Well I quit that job! So at least I should now have time to read :)
I am about 80% the way through Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. It is the most stellar book I've ever read, but it's ok. I had REALLY high hopes for it and I think that's my problem. Had I just gone in looking for a quick read, I wouldn't be disappointed. Hoping to start my 3rd book this month, Mockingjay this afternoon. Looking forward to that!!!
Hi. I have a couple of questions. Is it too late for me to join the challenge? If I sign up to read two books, can I go to the next level? Do I have to write a review? Thanks for your help.
@Southpaw: 1. It's never too late. 2. Yes, you can up or lower your number after you choose. 3. No, though ratings are always nice and as you can see, people comment here about what they've read as well.

As Tatum said, it is never too late! I'll put you up for 2 books for now, but if you want to adjust that goal just let me know. :D

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar.Children and give it 3 stars. It starts off strong but I found myself skimming most of the end. I think it could have ended a few chapters sooner than it did. It just kept going and going.
Starting for Mockingjay, my #3 book in this challenge! So excited for this one!!

Great job everybody! Congrats to Melissa, who has joined Ashley in completing this challenge. Alas, some of us are not yet close to finishing, but fret not my fellow readers! There is still 17 whopping days in this challenge! If anyone is feeling optimistic (or overwhelmed), let me know and I will increase (or decrease) your goal no problem. :D And of course, newcomers are always welcome!
Finished my book number 3 this afternoon! For category 7: goal!!!: character reaching goals - MWF Seeking BFF: My Yearlong Search For A New Best Friend by Rachel Bertsche | Rating: 5 stars
It was awesome. Review in my personal thread.
On to my next book. Game for the basketball category. It should be a nice, refreshing, easy YA read. I'm looking forward to it, even though I have no idea what it's about!
Hi there I finished my first book for March challenges!! The Waiting Time which I using in the Touchdown - Person overcoming odds. This book was about a woman who's husband past away leaving her a rice planatation and 100 slaves just before the Civil War.
Way to go you two! I'll do an update tomorrow. :)I've just finished my fourth for this challenge.
For the choke hold category (someone murdered by strangulation) I read 4:50 From Paddington by Agatha Christie. Rating: 5 stars
It was a perfect shock. I won't say anything more, for fear of spoilers, but it definitely did NOT go the way I thought it would!
Finished my second book for this challenge Last Shot **** I really like this book and I think others would like it too even if you aren't a sports fan! It is a young adult book as the two main characters are only 13 but it was a fun read during "March Madness". To mix it up a bit I'll read the next book in the series Vanishing Act: Mystery at the U.S. Openwhich changes sports to tennis.
Have to say, I am struggling through Mockingjay. Not sure if it is the book or that I now have a million things to get done and am not getting as absorbed as I was in the last two. Ugh.
