March Madness Challenge

Definitely! I'm trying to figure out what direction I should go first! I am in a ton of challenges this month. I'm going to have to get all of my books down and go from there. I think I will post my March books on my Member's Corner page and figure out what to read from there. :)
Ashley, I also have a ton of challenges I am working on...I finally put them all down, one challenge per sheet of paper, and taped them on my wall...now I hope it will make it easier to decide what to read next.
Anna wrote: "Ashley, I also have a ton of challenges I am working on...I finally put them all down, one challenge per sheet of paper, and taped them on my wall...now I hope it will make it easier to decide what..."Very good idea! I may put them on my member corner wall and then on paper for back up, lol.
I have a notepad file on the computer with all the books I *should* read this month and a tentative reading schedule, which will no doubt get mucked up because I am easily distracted!
I'm a bit of a notepad list addict. I also like those virtual sticky notes you can put on your desktop.
@Melissa: got you added!@Everyone: Good luck everybody! I'll try to keep checking members' corners for updates. But don't forget to try and post the occasional update on this thread as well (it will count towards option 2 in the March Midterm Mania Mini Challenge!). I'm sure we'd all like to hear what you're reading and how you're enjoying (or not enjoying!) it!

That works!
This is what I have planned so far:1. 15-Love: Love interest:
Fire Me Up by Katie MacAlister
2. 3-Pointer:: 3rd in series.
Undead and Unappreciated by MaryJanice Davidson
I may well use The Hunger Games as well for #10, but I am not sure yet. And I admit to heartily hoping that someone gets strangled or beaten to death in one of the mysteries I have planned to read this month!
Good ideas for keeping track guys!! I've gotten all my books out from the library and have them sitting in a huge pile on my desk. The OCD in me will be sure to read them all so I can get the clutter off my desk! haha :)
Adriana wrote: "Read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children like one day before March... does it still count?"I'm going to have to say no on that one! Sorry. The challenge really is to read the books during March. There are a few books I read before 2012 that could have counted for the yearly challenges so I totally get how that feels.
Ok, I've started my first book for this challenge Playing For Pizza just checked out another from the library Swimming have a hold request for a third Landing It: My Life on and Off the Ice: My Life on and Off the Iceand will try to get Last Shotjust before March madness really begins ...
Sharon wrote: "Ok, I've started my first book for this challenge Playing For Pizza just checked out another from the library Swimming have a hold request for a third [book:Landing It..."Cool books, Sharon! That Last Shot looks good. If I was more interested in Basketball, I might check it out! :P

Adriana wrote: "Reading Out of the Pocket. Hopefully it's good."This sounds right up my alley Adriana! It certainly sounds good: be sure to let me know how it goes. :D
Melissa wrote: "I just finished The Hunger Games and am using it for my 15-Love (love interest): 1/4"Oh good one! I didn't think of using it in that way. How did you like it?
It was pretty good. I think it was over-hyped a bit. Kind of like the show survivor on steroids LOL.
I finished Catching Fire, Trevor. It is just as suspenseful as the first. It may stress you out a bit, but worth it. :0) Onto Saving CeeCee Honeycutt.
Melissa wrote: "It was pretty good. I think it was over-hyped a bit. Kind of like the show survivor on steroids LOL."LOL. I like Survivor, don't diss it! haha. I agree. I read it a while ago, before all the hype and I just found it an exercise in stressful frustration. I stayed up all night to read it, sweating bullets the whole time! xP

Haha, thanks for the warning. :D I'm still deciding whether to read it or not!

Are you counting Catching Fire for a category?
Melissa wrote: "I'm definitely not dissing Survivor .. but that's what popped into my head as I was reading it :)"LOL. I can see the connection.

I completed The Lightning Thief to complete the "Touchdown" category. (5 stars)1/2 complete for the challenge.
Finished my first book,
. I REALLY enjoyed it. It's a light read but with some great "words of wisdom". Definitely a good way to start my March Madness.

Congrats guys on finishing all your first books! I'll do an update tomorrow and be sure to fix everyone's numbers!
For category #8: Marathon I am going to use The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman since there's an awful lot of running away from in the book.I gave it 4 stars, my review will be in my personal thread in a day or two.

is my second. I forgot this counted. It has a love interest."Nice! I'll do an update tomorrow. :)
Did I forget to join this one? Put me down for 2 please! Thanks! (I may end up with 3, but we'll see.)To count for:
8. Marathon: Read a book featuring running/racing or a book with people on the run from something.
I've read:
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
In this book, the captain of the ship, Captain Nemo of the Nautilus, is on the run from society as a whole - and, it seems at the end, from his own sad past.
Cool, huh? ;)
