Jaz, I would have to agree with you on a Valkyrie from the IAD series. They just seem to have the most fun AND get the guy...every time.L
I was gonna say a shapeshifter when I saw this post (cuz how cool would that be!), but now that y'all brought up the IAD valkyrie I would have to say them :). Kick ass in general, and then with their own special skills, plus feared by all without being a burly Amazon... they're awesome! Plus, I'd get to hang out with Regin and Nix :)
A Dragon. The descriptions in Shana Abe's books (The Smoke Thief being the first one) of how it felt to be flying was just totally amazing. I want to do that!
I'd want to be a Bookwyrm, they're a type of dragon from Mercedes Lackey's Five Hundred Kingdom's series that hoard books instead of gold. Basically they're gigantic, super strong, flying, fire-breathing librarians. :-)
I would absolutely be a Valkyrie ! After reading the Kresley Cole series Immortals after Dark ..who wouldn't want to be a strong beautiful creature with super powers ? .. plus the hunky men ... no brainer right lol
Valkyrie for sure!!! Stunning, badass women with interesting personalities, seems lots of peeps have been won over by Kresley Cole's IAD :-D
Hard decision I would want to be a vampire but I would miss the sun but some authors have varied diff characters. Then again being a shapeshifter - a lion, wolf and panther are great choices too.
I would want to be a Wyverary like in The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making. Better than hoarding books, he is a half library himself!
I would return as a vampire. There are many different kinds of vampires out there so I can't decide which vampire I come back as.

I'm a girl, so I must come back as a female vampire!

There's no "must" in play-pretend but I'm with you on the staying with female. ;)
I want to come back as a shape-shifing dragon like those in G.A. Aiken (aka Shelly Laurenston) Dragon Kin series. Dragon Actually is book 1 in the series.
Normally I would say a vampire, but upon further thought they are so restricted. I would come back as a Sin-Eater. Far less rules!
i wonder if a sorcerer counts? if not then i would like to become a vampire, like from the Night Huntress series. :)
Depending on what series you read, vampires have too many weaknesses and shapeshifters endure too much pain to change shape. I will go with the majority here and say a Valkyrie like in the IAD series.
Galadriel would be cool . . . or Arwen, the lovely elf that Aragorn marries (played by Liv Tylor). I've always had a 'thing' for Aragorn :)
Im hearing a lot about this Valkyrie thing. What is it exactly, I mean I know its from the Immortals After Dark Series. Its in my to read list, is it good? (sorry if its totally off topic Im just curious)

You won't be sorry if you take them to the top of your list. Let us know what you think of Nix... :)

(sorry if its totally off topic Im just cu..."I recommend Pleasure of a Dark Prince, I think it's book 9 of the IAD series - they are mostly stand-alones. There's a number of stories featuring valkyries as leads but this would have to be my favorite, followed by No Rest for the Wicked, Dark Desires After Dusk and Dreams of a Dark Warrior. There are 2 other books on top of these that are about valkyries but I didn't like them so much.
I think I'm gonna jump on the Valkyrie bandwagon. They are indeed very powerful, sexy and open! Can't beat that combination...
Hey, you guys are forgetting that Valkyrie also are VERY into bling. I mean, what girl wouldn't want bling, right? :o)
