message 51: by Tina (new)

Tina (tinamats) | 2665 comments I have a blog post about this every month. :D

Anyway, I have a zombie-themed month for February so my TBR contains:

The Enemy
Warm Bodies
The Reapers Are the Angels

A Game of Thrones (although alam ko puro patayan din to. BTW, Tricia, game ka na? :) )
Howl's Moving Castle

Usually pinagsasabay sabay ko yung ebook and print books, and dahil mukhang print books to lahat, may sisingit singit ako na ebooks in between para di naman mabigat. :)

K.D. Absolutely (oldkd) | 6065 comments Normally, nauuna ang librong bago. Kasi mas maraming nagbabasa at parang bida ang feeling kasi nauna kang nakapagbasa at nakaka-influence ka. Aminin! :)

Toxic.

1. Room by Emma Donoghue
2. Of Love and Evil by Anne Rice
3. Bachelor Girl by Betsy Israel (almost halfway through pero nastuck, so dapat matapos na.
4. My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares ( tried reading this after Before Ever After, pero sobrang naumay ako sa time travel na konsepto)
5. The Castle in the Pyrenees by Jostein Gaarder (same case, muntik nang matapos, pero nastop. Whew.)

If I get to finish this, I'll step back and read all the old books na unread pa din.

Joyce Shaughnessy (joyceshaughnessy) | 24 comments I've been trying to get in, and I know this isn't the proper place, but I thought you all would like to know that there is going to be a meeting in San Antonio, Texas in May marking the 70th anniversary of the Death March and they are inviting family members and actual soldiers to come to the meeting. They are inviting anyone who had anything to do with Corregidor, Bataan or the Death March. There aren't that many soldiers still alive, but there are a lot of family members. Joyce Shaughnessy

message 84: by K.D. (last edited Mar 01, 2012 08:25PM) (new)

K.D. Absolutely (oldkd) | 6065 comments Onga.

Kasi pag sabi ng friend natin, maganda, then go. Magbabasa tayo. Tapos pag pangit sa atin, di ganoon talaga. Magkakaiba tayo ng taste eh.

Tapos pag sabi naman ng friend natin eh pangit, then go parin. Magbabasa tayo.

message 85: by H (new)

message 86: by K.D. (new)

K.D. Absolutely (oldkd) | 6065 comments Ako kasi nakikinig.

Kaya hirap ding mag-post ng TBR for next month or so kasi may bilang magco-comment na maganda o di maganda yong librong nasa tbr ko so switch agad.

So, thank you Cary for trusting me hahahaha. Noted. :)))))))

message 87: by Angus (new)

Angus (angusmiranda) | 4337 comments H, Jzhun: Thanks. Should we set up a foundation?

KD: For the sake of arguments? And to seek refuge from the daily tolls of life?

Today, I read not so favorable things about Life of Pi and Olive Kitteridge, but I am still going to read them. If you really want to know, I only read my friends' reviews and comments. I don't read professional reviews because I don't care what they think about because I don't care what they do with their lives because I am not friends with them. So be very flattered if I read and react to what you say. Time is too precious to be wasted, and I'm wasting a few minutes on this comment that is too incoherent and almost pointless. But even if I read my friends' reviews and comments and waste time chitchatting and arguing, I still would follow what I want because I know what I want and because what I want defines me. Bow!

message 88: by Flipreads (new)

message 89: by H (new)

H | 684 comments K.D. wrote: "Ako kasi nakikinig. "

Of course you can't help but react negatively or positively to a book you've read, and I guess it's up to that person to decide if he/she will take your word for it.

Reading a book in spite of other's negative opinion of it shows that a reader is curious, has an open mind, and can think for him/herself...Qualities that should be nurtured in young readers.

message 90: by K.D. (new)

K.D. *Bow* hahahaha

Flip: Tama!

Pero just the same, binabasa ko ang reviews nya at nakaka-influence sya sa decision ko what to read next hahahaha.

At yan ang lesson natin for today, boys and girls!

Angus: Oo..ang name ay I Don't Care What You Say I'm Still Going To Read It Foundation haba ah :P

KD: Wala naman atang may 100% compatibility rate dito eh. Soulmate mo na siguro yon kung meron man hehehe.

message 93: by Angus (new)

Angus (angusmiranda) | 4337 comments I don't feel deterred when I find out that friends hate the book that I want to read. And I don't feel amused as well when they shove books to me. It's not a trust issue. I trust my friends' ability to recognize good books, and this ability is largely dependent on taste.

So: degustibus non est disputandum. And still, we rant and rave. We love fangirling and bickering. WAAAHHH!
