Lis | 4037 comments Jennifer I hope everything goes well with your sister's surgery. It's amazing what Dr's can accomplish with the heart. I have a close friend who's son was found with a hole and a lot of additional complications right after he was born, and he is an amazingly healthy little boy now. I'll keep you in my thoughts and hope she has a speedy recovery.

message 202: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments @Jennifer: What Sandra said. Hope everything goes ok with your sister surgery. My thoughts are with you.

I checked your shelves - you haven't yet read the Psy-Changeling or the Kate Daniels series yet. If you're interested, you could check them out.

message 203: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments All right Ms Jennifer, what the divas can do is help you find a new series to start and help keep the mind busy... What are you in the mood for? Vamps, shifters, romance, fantasy, action, zombies??? Any ideas?

message 204: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Or I could have done what Lis did instead of recommending a series.. Good idea, Lis!!

message 205: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Good ones Vi...

message 206: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments I think we are typing at the same time... Brainstorming via electronic gadget...

message 207: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Yep, hehe. We'll wait for Jennifer to get back on her preference and then we can rec more series to her.

message 208: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments I like romance, vampires, and shifters. I can get into almost anything though

message 209: by Lis (last edited Feb 15, 2012 04:49PM) (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Keri Arthur for hot wolfie steam and you get hot vampires a few books in... Lara Adrian's midnight series is kind of like Ward's BDB series minus the slang and baby powder baddies... And Lyndsay Sands Argeneau vampire series is pure romance and fun fang humor...

Full Moon Rising (Riley Jenson Guardian, #1) by Keri Arthur . Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #1) by Lara Adrian . A Quick Bite (Argeneau, #1) by Lynsay Sands

Jennifer | 150 comments Thanks :) & ill let everyone know how it goes. She has two kids and she recovered fully except her speech. I hVe thought about the psy changeling (I have no idea how to spell that) a lot of people seem to like it.

message 211: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments Excuse my grammar and spelling im typing on my phone, and im feeling lazy. :)

message 212: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Psy Changling series is good too. It's also a group challenge on SOS that several of us are re-reading or first time reading before her new release later this year.

message 213: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments That's good news Jennifer. The speech will come back. And Psy Changeling would be my pick too.

message 214: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments I just picked up A Quick Bite at the library! So hopefully I like it! I hope everyone had a nice valentines day :)

message 215: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Perfect, no $$ investment and you get take it for a spin... They are just vampire fairy tales and you get to know the whole family. They can be silly at times, you'll enjoy Lissianna's phobia.

message 216: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments It's a fun, fluffy read, enjoy!

message 217: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments I don't know why but I *think* I'm not that much into PNR series - I have so many authors I've not tried - Lara Adrian, Keri Arthur, Richelle Mead (did try her VA series; not impressed), Kresley Cole, Gena Showalter (read the first in LoU; again not impressed). I think I fare much better with UF though. I need to check them out, I guess.

message 218: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments Same here. I read a lot of PNR but I like UF much better

message 221: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments Have you got a lot of it planned, Vi?

message 222: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Vi, Arthur's series is more UF than PNR. She just weaves the wolfie steam into it, but they are always fighting bad vamps, creatures, demons, etc. one of my fav series.

message 223: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments I finished A Quick Bite. It was good. Definitely light and fluffy.

message 224: by Lis (last edited Feb 17, 2012 03:11AM) (new)

Lis | 4037 comments There are 3 "Rogue Hunter" books in the middle of the series that are a little less on the fluffy side, but most of them are more of the same. After reading several UFs in a row, I like jumping to one of these for a break.

message 225: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Marriages in India are a little bit more complicated. Halls and catering is booked. Mom's taking care of most of the planning now. I'm on the phone helping her out. I'll be moving back next month to take care of the rest.

Jennifer wrote: "Have you got a lot of it planned, Vi?"

message 226: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Oh, GTK Lis. I think I'll add that series to my list. Maybe try it out soon.

Indian marriages are always so fascinating :)

Seen some great shows on TV about them. You do know we expect pictures, don't you Vi. LOL

message 228: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments Oooh Vi, what color will your dress be? The brides here have started opting for a lot of versatile colors instead of red!

Vi | 943 comments Sandra wrote: "Seen some great shows on TV about them. You do know we expect pictures, don't you Vi. LOL "

The marriages are fascinating but very time-consuming. The main event - something like your vows - is supposed to happen between 6:30 - 7:30 am (which I'm so not looking forward to) but there will be stuff happening before. My mom just told me that I should be getting up by 4 am max to start the make-up. :( I'll upload pics, Sandra! If I look good, that is. I'm sooo not photogenic. I always end up showing weird faces in the photos.

Midu wrote: "Oooh Vi, what color will your dress be? The brides here have started opting for a lot of versatile colors instead of red!"

For me (and my family), the wedding saree will definitely be a red based - maybe maroon saree. It's fixed and I can't change it. I can pick a good dress - 99.9999% saree again, for my reception though.

message 230: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments zabardast! would get to see you in a saree finally! :-p

message 231: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Acchaa! And when do I get the honor, Midu? ;)

message 232: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments not happening anytime soon! *sigh*

message 233: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments I'm a little bit envious! :)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments why? spill,woman!

message 243: by Vi (last edited Feb 18, 2012 04:54PM) (new)

Vi | 943 comments I'm going to read either Beyond the Shadows (Night Angel, #3) by Brent Weeks (a chunky - 720 p) or Mine to Possess (Psy-Changeling, #4) by Nalini Singh .

ETA: I could also read Kushiel's Justice (Kushiel's Legacy, #5) by Jacqueline Carey or Summer Knight (The Dresden Files, #4) by Jim Butcher . Choices Choices

message 244: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments I think I'm going to read kittys house of horrors. Not sure yet.

message 245: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments I really liked Mine to Possess. However the night amel trilogy looks interesting gonna have to add it to my list.

message 246: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments It's a reread but I'm not so keen on this one. I didn't like Talin the first time around. Hoping the second time would be better..

message 247: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments Oh see I liked her well actually I really liked Clay :). And I can't spell..that should say angel.

message 248: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Oh, you're the first person I've come across who said that. Everybody else I know are pretty much Talin-haters. I didn't like book #2 (Vaughn and Clay) as good as book #1 (Lucas and Sasha) the first time I read it. On a re-read it was definitely better. Hoping that might be the case with this one also. Book #4 and #7 was the least liked among this series.

The Night Angel trilogy (well, the first 2 I've read) is amazing. Really really amazing. You should add it too.

Vi | 943 comments I was taking a look at all the team bingo cards. So far, with the 4 shelves called no team has them perfectly aligned. But, with last week's shelf, 2 teams - Team 7 and 8 had three of them aligned and with this week's, Team 13 has 3 shelves aligned too. It's still way too early to predict but just an update for me us.
