Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments WTG, Vi, that was suuuuper fast! :D

message 52: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Hehe, Thanks Judithe and Steph! I've been doing nothing but reading today (except when I'm in GR, of course :P) God bless Single life :D

message 53: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Yeah Vi! That was fast reading... I've been working on Tairen Soul #2 for too long.

message 54: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments I'm going with Damien (Nightwalkers, #4) by Jacquelyn Frank for my Supernatural shelf read.

message 55: by Heather (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments Okay, for the free space I'll be reading Blood Rights (House of Comarré, #1) by Kristen Painter and for supernatural I'm choosing Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #1) by Patricia Briggs

message 56: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Hi Heather!! Are you blessed with creative genes? Any suggestions for team names?

message 57: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Lis, did you like the first book in the Tairen Soul Series?

message 58: by Heather (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments Hi. You guys seem to like the divas idea pretty well "book divas"? Right now my brain is pretty spaced out as it's about 7:40 am and I have yet to go to sleep. I'm east coast US in Maine.

message 59: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Okay, I've assigned post #6 as the Master(or Mistress) Post. I've also updated with the shelves and your reads. Let me know if I made a mistake.

message 60: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Vi wrote: "Lis, did you like the first book in the Tairen Soul Series?"

I did. Very thick fantasy read with all the world building. He's so alpha and "much" and she is so skittish and YA/ PG. I want to get past #2 and the getting to know you stage. I was able to pick most of the books up at Borders closing sale except 2 which I put on my iPad, just prefer the book or kindle.

message 61: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Yeah Heather! Glad you found us and we are on the same time zone. I will probably join you on reading Blood Rights for the free space read. Is this you first time playing SOS bingo, or have you played before?

message 62: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Ooh Lis, you should definitely continue. Overall, the story is about Love but not just that - it deals with topics like honor, courage. While there are a lot of just plain Evil guys (the Elden Mage), the dilemma of the Mage-claimed is one that arises all through the book. And I haven't even gone into the Rain and Ellie yet! You should definitely continue the series!!

message 63: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Good Morning Vi! Does the series continue to get better as it goes?

message 64: by Heather (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments Never played before so this is my first time. Seems fun though.

message 65: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Good Evening Lis! Oh yes, it gets better as it goes. Books 4-5 have lesser focus on the lead romance comparatively but the plot threads and the actions scenes make up for it (there's a war going on). Thankfully, you don't get to see an ill-timed sex scene in those books. Once you hit book 3, you'd better have the next book handy. :)

Hmm, just realized - so all of you are from the US, right?

message 66: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments It is loads of fun! Hope you enjoy this round too. Feel free to ask any questions - Lis and I are here to answer!

message 67: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments It's fun & easy... Pick your book, read quickly and post you review. No pressure, right. At the beginning we are just collecting stamps, but last time my team came in 2nd, it got crazy with an all night read-a-thon. With more than double the teams, it should go faster this round.

message 68: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments How long do you have to read a book.

message 69: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments In the beginning you just need to get it finished before the next shelf announcement so you don't get backed up. It's nice to get the free space out of the way early if you can. At the end, most of us were finishing within a day or two.

message 70: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Yeah, I was thinking about that too, Lis. Since there are like 15 teams this time around, the possibility of a team getting a Bingo within the first 6-7 shelves called is higher. Last round, I remember 2 teams racing for Bingo.

Heather, possibly the first 2 rounds might not be that crazy but once it starts hitting 4 or 5th round, I'm guessing some teams might get closer to Bingo. In which case, it will get crazy.

message 71: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Yep that was my team racing to the finish, I was on the Serious Series Sluts team. It was Crazy! We came within a few hours of winning.

message 72: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments As long as no one is set to bingo, you have plenty of time to read your book. It's just those nail biting last days, when several teams are set to bingo several ways if the right shelf is called.

message 73: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Vi wrote: "Hi Heather!! Are you blessed with creative genes? Any suggestions for team names?"

Ms. Captain, are we good with Divining Divas or Five Divining Divas? Or do we need to do some more name brainstorming?

message 74: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Ah, I knew we were missing something, let's go with Five Diving Divas since all of us seem ok with that. I'll ask Steph or one of the other mods to change the name for us.

message 75: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments Woohoo home project done! Well sorta have to put the last of the things away but that can wait till tomorrow. Now I can relax sit back with a glass of wine and my book! And guessing that I will be catching up on my missed reading as I am now coming down with a cold :(

message 76: by Lis (last edited Feb 05, 2012 07:17PM) (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Me too Dawn. After spending the weekend popping Zicam, reading and posting, finally feeling better so I won't miss work. I hate the season of germs. Hope you are feeling better soon.

message 77: by Heather (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments I've started Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #1) by Patricia Briggs but I feel like I'm missing something. It's first in series but doesn't seem like it.

message 78: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Did you happen to read the anthology On the Prowl? There's a little prequel in that one.

message 79: by Heather (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments Nope, haven't read it. When I hear prequel like that I don't usually think "book 1" when it says "0.5" lol. But that's what it sounds like. Oh well. ^.^

message 80: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Heather, you can't read this book without reading On the Prowl. That's where the first 10% of the book is. I did the same as you - read the first book without reading the prequel and I went mad trying to find out where I missed the stuff.

message 81: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments There's a snipit on Briggs website. http://www.patriciabriggs.com/books/o...

message 82: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Yay, Dawn! Now you can enjoy or what you can with the cold with books!! Dawn, btw, is it your first time with BINGO?

message 83: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments Vi, what are you reading from the supernatural shelf?

message 84: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Hey Midu! Probably, Iron Kissed (Mercedes Thompson, #3) by Patricia Briggs . You're at book #5 already, right?

message 85: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments Yep and reading that one for the team. Like I told Suzanne, have some tissues and chocolate or ice cream handy when you're nearing the end of the book!

message 86: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments Yep my first time playing. Do I post my reviews here as well?

Yeah being sick is awful. Glad you're feeling better Lis I'm on my way there...fingers crossed.

I really liked the Mercedes Thompson series I have the #6 just begging to be read but I have a few others that I should get through first.

message 87: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments Finished- Bone Crossed
Shelf- Supernatural
Date- 2/6/2012
Rating- Four stars
Review- I totally love this series. I like how this books starts right where the last one finishes. Its almost like it's one big book. This book shows how Mercy deals with her problems and even her love life instead of just ignoring them which made it even more fantastic. When you think that Mercy will get a break after what she has to endure, wrong! This book has enough twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat!

message 88: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments I didn't wanna spoil it for anyon, so my review is kind of plain. I think for my free space I'm going to read incubus dreams by laurell k hamilton.

message 89: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments Finished: Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper
Shelf: Supernatural
Date: 2.6
Rating: 3.5 stars

This was a fun and easy read. The plot was lacking a bit but overall this was a really funny book especially with all the off the wall/witty comments Jane Jameson makes. I enjoyed the whole cast of characters from her Aunt Jetties ghost to her mom and sister making her crazy. There was something missing in her relationship with her sire Gabriel that made me wish for a little more interaction and heat between the two.

message 90: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Good job on the fast reading. I'm all caught up on the Mercy series, but I broke into my audio of Bone Crossed today for a re-read. I'm over half way and my cold medicine has me re-reading paragraphs.

message 91: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Good Evening, ladies!

Wow! Great job on the reading! Eek, now I'm behind! I'm still not fully sold on the Mercy series. Book 2 was definitely better than the first but somehow, I like her Alpha and Omega better. Maybe because I read that first..? In any case, I'll try to finish the third book Iron Kissed today.

Lis, Dawn - I hope you guys get better soon.

message 92: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments I haven't read the other series, I think I might read it.

message 93: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments Haven't read that series yet - its on the list. Iron kissed is where I was hooked I then had to read 4 then 5. Was waiting on 6 which I have now but I had other things to read that and I wanted to drag it out a little longer.

message 94: by Heather (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments Finished: Cry Wolf
Shelf: Supernatural

Once I got past the idea that I hadn't read the prequel and so missed the first part of the story I was able to wrap my head around what was going on. Especially since it seemed as though there was stuff not explained in the book that wouldn't have been in the previous short story either. Overall, I liked the story and the characters were interesting and seemed to act pretty consistent no matter what was going on. My one problem I have though is that having finished the book, I feel like it was a padded short story. By this I mean that the essential story could have been told in probably half the pages. I'll probably get around to reading the next book (and the prequel) but I won't be shaking with anticipation.

message 95: by Heather (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments I had originally planned to jump into reading my free space book right after finishing this other one but now I think I'm going to read a historical for a different challenge first and then read Blood Rights after.

message 96: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments Finished: Succubus on Top by Richelle Mead
Shelf: free space
Date: 2.7
Rating: 4 stars

I'm falling in love with the series. It's funny there's a mystery, sex and I love the cast of characters. I'm definitely a little frustrated with the relationship between Georgina and Seth. Poor Seth He seems like a great guy and he cares about Georgina but... she is a succubus. Curious to see how their relationship will play out. Overall I enjoyed this book and its plot with the twists and turns. Can't wait for book 3

message 97: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments Team #13 is the first team to got the stamp. Great job guys - I'm 40% into Iron Kissed and I'll definitely be finishing it today :)

Lis | 4037 comments Finished: Damien by Jacquelyn Frank
Shelf: Supernatural
Read: 2/7/2012
Rating: ★★★★✩
To-Be-Continued? Yes

Review: This was the fourth book in the series and the different species of Nightwalkers continue to intermingle despite the centuries of it being taboo to mix races. This one centered on the Prince of Vampires, Damien who rescues the Lycanthrope Princess Syreena in this dark little fairy tale. Secrets of the races are further uncovered, blood and other sharing and a lot of real well written steamy scenes by Ms Frank made this one a good read. Anxious to finally finish the last two books.

message 99: by Lis (last edited Feb 07, 2012 08:07PM) (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Found Noah (Nightwalkers, #5) by Jacquelyn Frank on the SOS bookshelf, so I think I will tackle it as my free space book since I'm in the Nightwalker mood to finish this series.

Review: This is the third book of the series and I'm finally won over. Now, I'm in love with this series. I'm still not sure what my thoughts are at the end of this book - I'm still digesting the last 50 or so pages but one thing I do know is that I'm definitely continuing the series and that I'm on Team Adam now.
