I'm reading Elizabeth I Can I put it down? Can I hell. It's a really good read, and unlike most books, it doesn't start with her comming to the throne - she's already well established (it kicks of in the spring of 1558), and preparing to fight the Armada....

Evil woman killed our queen (who some said should be queen of England and Scotland)- only to have her son succeed her to the throne ending the rein of the Tudors. My Gran was a Stuart ;)

Sounds like a good book. I love it when I read about books that are hard to put down:)

Hello! Not been here in an age although I have been reading - HONEST!!! Atm am reading it's fab - don't usually read non-fiction but thought it looked interesting......... it's a bit like a reading version of a Louis Theroux doc!!

I'm reading , as I read the in a day. I was a bit sceptical, as I've found that some books don't live up to the hype (Wolf Hall anyone?) but this series does seem to be holding its own quite well...

I've now fished the Hunger Games trilogy, and am now reading ... It's quite hard going (but the last 4 books I've read have been fiction, so I've got to re-ajust I guess) but as I read it, I can hear Robert Powell narrating it! Makes for interesting reading though...

I finished the Hunger Games (first book) on Wednesday Evening and I'm about 80% of the way through Caatching Fire. Hopefully will finish soon. It's amazing to read in the sunshine annd not have work to go to.

I am liking it, it's just that having taken my kindle on holiday I left this half way through and need to get back into it

I am currently reading Fifty Shades of Grey and it is making me angry and yet very intrigued all at the same time. I keep putting it down in frustration and then picking it back up again! I do feel like i'm reading it just to get it finished now though, so I don't think i'll be buying the other two books once i've finished this one.

Hey all, im juggling work and four book club lists so I'm trying to catch up!! I just started reading perfume the story of a murderer which really has poetic irony throughout so far. But it took a month to finish IQ84 and I tried (for the second time) to read the corrections but only made it half way through before I lost interest. Any insights on these two novels??? Murakami is a new fave author of mine and I just finished after dark if anyone's interested in discussing his work.

Has anyone seen battle royale?? It's a Chinese or Korean or japeneese film made in 2000. I know hunger games is out in theaters but it's not as raw is this film. These children are living in a repressive state and are thrown into a game of gladiator in a way. They fight to the death without the interesting obstacles that hunger games had. It's almost 3 hours long but worth the watch!!

I've seen it and The Mr and I both noticed the similarities to Hunger Games!

I'm reading The Ice Queen because she is a nice read and I want to read something that isn't a classic/hefty.

I am on a hefty classic! It's The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins (contemporary of Dickens, best known for The Woman in White). It's supposed to be the first ever detective story and I'm rather enjoying it. It's surprisingly funny and I'm loving the narrators.

I am reading Fahrenheit 451 and it is great so far. Very short and concisely written. It is about a fireman whose job is no longer to put out fires but to set books alight as they are illegal.

I lent my kindle to my mum which is why I officially have 4 books on the go at the moment but 2 are on the kindle which is currently in Russia!

Its about a boy who comes home and finds his dad bludgeoned to death, he is then the main suspect and he has to try and clear his name, on the front it says "To catch a killer, he had to become one" So its a crime thriller i think :)

Its published on the 13/9/12 - so perhaps a group read for october?x

Do you mean the hunger games Lou? I don't think they would particularly stand out to Twilight fans, although I am a fan of both. My Nan started reading hunger games last week and literally couldn't put it down and she is 75 and hates Twilight, LOL x

Just started ashes of honor. Book six in the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire. They are detective stories set in modern day San Francisco. She is a changeling, half fae, half human. I devour every book and preorder the next as soon as I can. They sate my need for mystery, romance, faerie and fantasy.
