I'm reading because the author Nicole Krauss is married to Jonathan Safran Foer and I've heard that they are similar. I'm enjoying it so far but have had to have a couple of days break while we drove up to Scotland.

I'm currently reading . No real reason, other than that I've needed something I can dip in and out of over the past couple of weeks. I wish I'd had this before, though -- it's a good refresher of the plots so far.

I'm enjoying it! I like the way the story is written, how the characters are connected to each other. It's not very action-y, but more driven by characters and a slow build up.

Though, the one thing I had to get over was the crudeness of it,like the language and stuff. Not because I'm a prude or anything! But more because at first it felt more like shock factor or J.K. trying to say things like that for the sake of it, to try make it more 'adult'. But I got over it quickly enough.

I am reading 'The Book Theif'. I have had the paperback on my shelf for about 7 years (terrible but we've all been there fellow book hoarders) so I got it on my kindle and am loving it! I love historical fiction and have a high level of interest in the World Wars. Not sure what to move onto next...

I've started to read books on the Kindle app on my phone ... it's fine until I can afford a proper kindle. I thought I'd find it too small, but nope been really happy with it - will I want to go back to books now is the question.
At the moment I'm reading as heard so many good things from you guys about this one ... and it's quite intriguing so far.
I've also got this one on my app which I keep delving into as I just love her writing, and as it's a collection of her articles for The Times, I can pick up and put down whenever and read other stuff inbetween. It's not quite as funny as How To Be A Woman, but still an enjoyable read.

I'm reading and it is so well written. It's unusual and I can't wait to watch the film again (I can only vaguely remember the details).

I thought this was brilliant, so dark and horrific. I assume the film must be toned down a bit or bits hinted at rather than shown? I'm a bit scared to watch the film I think!

I'm reading The Strain by Guillermo del Toro (of Pan's Labyrinth fame) and Chuck Hogan. I spotted The Fall when I was browsing through my kindle and started it not realising that it is the 2nd in the series. Luckily I only read the start and then looked up the series today. I'm 10% in (got the sample and then the book after the sample hooked me) and it it under my skin. The feeling reminds me of old school Steven King and more recently Fevre Dream.

I'm just finishing up yes, chef and it is absolutely delicious. His story is so remarkable and i really have a newfound respect for chefs all over. I really admire him

I have just finished reading another three Michael Connelly novels. I quite like them, as they are all about the same man, Harry Bosch. I don't read the books in the sequence they have been published, simply because I don't have all of them. In some books Harry is still a detective working homocide, in others he had retired and is a private investigator. You can read the books seperately, but after having read a few of them I like how a lot of the information ties in with earlier books.
Another thing I like it how the books reflect the time they are written in. At first, mobiles are still a novelty, in later books everyone has one. Harry is not that into electronics, so he needs help with computers a lot of the time, but he learns fast. In the last book I read he came across a MacBook, which at first he didn't know how to work with. :P
Harry is a (mostly) good man, goes against the grain, has very dark horrors in his past and is a fascinating character!

At the moment I'm reading on an evening, and during my lunch time. The former is the third in Charlaine Harris' Lily Bard Mysteries series, which I'm really enjoying. I thought the first two were great, and had absolutely no trouble starting the third straight away.

The latter is a book I'm reading for my 12+3 challenge. I've had it on my shelf since I was a gothic literature student, and I've been wanting to read it for a while. It has pretty short chapters, so it's the perfect choice for lunch time reading. I'm really enjoying it so far. It's far more immediate than I expected from an older book -- there's no messing about with huge passages of description, it's just straight in to what's actually a pretty good is-it-isn't-it ghost story.

I need to finish my Game of Thrones books too, it's taking me forever to get through them!

I'm reading and have been reading a bit at a time - I'm really enjoying reading it and it is exactly what I was looking for after . I really like reading books that are character driven and am always on the look out for more historical fiction (will hopefully read a bit more non this year too) written in America (fascinates me).

I started since the film was released last year in the U.S. and is about to come out here (it's been sitting on my to-read list since it came out too). The first section was a chore (so stilted and I really wondered why people love the book when the language is so over written) but I persisted because the reviews really intrigue me. The second section was slightly better and it briefly mentioned the first section in a way that has made me want to keep reading.

I have taken a slight break because I started to wonder why I have never read more than a chapter of . I am enjoying it but the protagonist is starting to irk me slightly.

I read watermelon about 10 years ago and remember they made it in to a series IMDb Watermelon but I only remember seeing clips when I was back visiting the U.K.

I read Packing for Mars a year or so ago. I thoroughly enjoyed it--all the details that have to be thought of to make such a voyage, from personal hygiene to training.

Right now I'm reading Kerry Greenwood's . It's a "cozy" series that takes place in Melbourne. Pretty good, likeable characters.

I'm reading the second book of The Demon Wars ( and I can't put the damned thing down. I was always a bit iffy about getting this in a tree-book (yes - I've succumbed to the lure of a Kindle!) and yet in the e-book.... Put it this way - I want the third book ( ) as soon as the price drops to a reasonable level!

Not sure what the next book to read will be... Think I might go retro, and read ....

Reading Notes from a Coma (an ARC from Edelweiss) - http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15.... So far, it is a very intriguing book. I rather like the story and think it is well written, but it also has lots of lengthy footnotes which are confusing to read, and I'm not convinced they add much to the novel. It's like any good writer these days has to add some post-modernistic "trick" to their novel to be considered trendy and original. I don't much care for this phenomenon.

I have just finished reading Eragon and am now onto reading the second book in the series. It is a good book and i'm looking forward to seeing how the story progresses. :)

I have just finished reading Room by Emma Donoghue again. I love this book and even though its a sad story I like a happy ending. I am contemplating reading the hunger games but not sure I will like it but want to know what all the fuss was about.

Katrina, I, too, was reluctant to get on The Hunger Games bandwagon, but it's a very good series. It's dystopic and grim, but there's good storytelling and unlike anything I've read before.

I loved Eragon and all the Inheritance series - until the last book. I won't spoil things by talking about why! I do love fantasy though. Currently reading Beautiful Creatures but it's a bit YA for me (in a way Eragon was not, strangely), and not brilliantly written. I'll still finish it though. I loved The Hunger Games but again, wasn't sure about the later books in that series. The first was fantastic though.

I'm reading When She Woke at the moment. It's very good, but quite heavy going in places! Lots of religious and moral over arching themes.

I am currently finishing off The Book Thief. I stopped due to a family bereavement in October and it (obviously as it is about Nazi Germany) has a few deaths / sad parts so I moved onto lighthearted reads. I am about 30% through now and enjoying it.

At the moment I am reading the Collected Tales of Nikolai Gogol. There was a radio adaptation last year of some of them which was good. They are funny, not side splittingly hilarious (they are 19th Century Russian stories) but still amusing and not that heavy to read.

Couldn't get my head around the "Fran-glaise" that Stephen Clarke was using in , so decided to go and read - can't wait for the next book in the series! Then decided to go back to Dan Brown. Just finished , and am currently reading - perfect "take your braincell out" reading... Not sure what the next book will be, but suspect that it will be , as I really want to read this, after reading a sample on my Kindle.

Consumed: How Shopping Fed the Class System. Harry Wallop Can't put this one down! It's amazingly well researched ...and amusingly written too. Fascinating. The different class tribes discussed in the book such as the Wood Burning Stovers, The Hyphen-Leighs and Portland Privateers are so accurately drawn. So much interesting history here too.

I'm reading Tescopoly by Andrew Simms. It's basically about the evils of the big 4 but specifically Tesco. Really enjoying it so far.
