Thanks Ian, looking forward to having a go at the challenge, it should be an interesting journey. :-)
For France, I've added The Templar's Quest by C M Palov to the list. The third book in the Caedmon Aisquith series. A decent, enjoyable thriller.
For Syria, added Mirror to Damascus by travel author Colin Thubron. Although nearly forty-five years old, it's still a fascinating insight into the city, in which he also tells the history of Damascus from biblical times through the the 1960's.
Added Agatha Christie's Appointment with Death for Jordan, which is set around Petra, featuring Hercule Poirot.
For Germany I've added the new Peter Cotton short story Redeemable by the excellent Aly Monroe in which Cotton who works for British intelligence gets posted to Germany just after the war has ended.
For Israel I've added Laurence O'Bryan's current thriller The Jerusalem Puzzle, the middle book of the Puzzle trilogy.
After ages without visiting somewhere new, I've added for Italy, Andrea Camilleri's first book of the Inspector Montalbano series The Shape of Water.
Hi Ian, yes, hoping to add a few more this year, although reading a lot of fantasy will probably slow me down a little. :-)
