I really want to read this one. I see it is sometimes filed under Manga, would you agree with that?

Sarah, Samantha and Cindrella I will be posting who is going to pick a book for you soon.

Tawna | 479 comments Brooke wrote: I really want to read this one. I see it is sometimes filed under Manga, would you agree with that?

Manga?? hells to the no...manga is comics and print cartoons, mostly Japanese type art (at least this is what wikipedia confirmed for me). This is a book with words only and just that alone makes it not Manga.

I dunno who filed it under Manga, but they were sorely mistaken.

However I will say that the story is beautiful and you can picture everything in your head with the way the author wrote and play it out like a movie in your head....if you know what I mean.

Right, that's what I thought. I couldn't understand why it would be listed this way. Phew! Thought I was losing my mind! LOL!

Ok Sarah and Samantha are the ones who have not had a book picked for them,

Jacob was suppose to pick for Sarah
Ayan picked for Jacob so since he hasn't came back here I was thinking Ayan could pick for Sarah.

Aimee who was suppose to pick for Samantha hasn't been back and the Sannie who was suppose to pick for Aimee hasn't either so I think Juliana who picked a book for Sannie could pick for Samantha. Hope that all makes sense lol

Juliana can you pick a book for Samantha
and
Ayan could you pick a book for Sarah

I was pleasantly surprised that I liked this book. At first when I read the first three chapters I was like "huh? what is going on" but then the story unfolded and I could see the Cinderella theme. I predicted the ending around chapter 4, but that didn't stop me from reading it!

message 223: by Janis (new)

Janis (janispr80) | 75 comments I've finished Die For Me.

I enjoyed this book. It is the first zombie book I've read and I'm not 100% sold on the idea of zombie's coming back to life as beautiful beings wanting to protect the innocent but I'm open minded so will go with it. What I did like about this book was the love story between the two main characters. It wasn't love at first and for no reason. There was an attraction which lead to getting to know one another over a period of time which lead to them falling in love. There wasn't a lot of action and I found it hard to stay focused on some parts of the story, especially the middle, which stopped me from giving it five stars but overall it was a nice easy read and would recommend it to others.

Thanks Shannon for picking this one for me!

message 224: by Liz (new)

Liz (eilis986) I finished Life as We Knew It (Last Survivors, #1) by Susan Beth Pfeffer and was overcome by the urge to stock up on first aide supplies and canned good.

Seriously.

But a good read overall. Hard to be reading through the eyes of a 16 year old when you are 31, but a really good coming of age/being grateful for the little things like family and health/end of the world type story. Admittedly I was disappointed by the idea that no one in her family actually died....not that they won't in the future novels, but I guess they did witness the world completely fall apart, which was traumatic enough. Overall, good choice!

I just bought my copy of Divergent and it should get here in a couple of days so I'm excited to read! :D

message 229: by Tawna (new)

Tawna | 479 comments Divergent is good, I gave it 3.5 stars...but only because it's world building and there was a small part that reminded me of Mockingjay (or was it the end of Catching Fire?) and that bugged me a bit. I still quite enjoyed the book and I believe the other two books are going to be nothing like Hunger Games so I am anxiously awaiting the arrivals of the next books :)

You should put a spoiler thing on ur comment because you gave a really important part of the book away and some people have still not read this!!!

I wasn't trying to be mean or anything and I apologize if that's how you took my comment. I didn't know if you knew about the spoiler thing and was just pointing out that you gave away the end of the book and other people may not have read it yet so using the spoiler thing would save the ending for those who have not read it.
