I hope you aren't driving up from SoCal - Yesterday I-15 was washed out north of Las Vegas for about 50 miles. Southern Utah hasn't had a rain storm like that in a 100 yrs! Almost 4 inches (10 cm)in about 12 hrs
All the National Parks in Southern Utah were closed due to flash flood dangers
The weather is supposed to nice Thursday, but cool

I'm right there with you Derek. Absolutely loved The Joshua Tree and Rattle & Hum. Went to the U2 concert in Edmonton in July 2011. I was disappointed they didn't play more from those two albums but it was still a blast.
And yes Bobby - be careful. Between dust storms and flooding the southwest is not a pleasant place to be at the moment. Guns Up TT!!

Are they hard up for participants? Or, are they thinking you'll reread and improve your rating/review?

No Happy, I flew up and am sincerely enjoying the cool temps. Went to Robert Redford' s place, Sundance, tonight. Love it up there. Great little bar called The Owl makes the night complete.

He does not like water, except to drink, He even goes into the street whenever we pass a sprinkler so he doesn't get wet :)

I'm glad you had a good timr. That canyon is beautiful!

Montreal, seeing Ottawa went south decided to grab new land and Quebec figured it was tired of the Plains of Abraham and decided to shift west to Montreal's vacated spot and everyone must remember they're called 'Quebec Bagels' now.
Not even getting between the Prairie cities, since they're busy sorting out their crops and stock from the midnight melee

N.B. Fixed the multitude of typos.

Otis...I love his name :) get with the program Happy, the pets ALWAYS dictate how things are going to go! ...... ugh. I'm not getting notifications again :(

Montreal, seeing Ottawa went south..."
WHAT! Canada has invaded...... first the Argies & now the Canuks. ;)

I know! whatever next? You colonials rejoining the Union if the Scots vote for independance next week?

I reckon we should create a secret handshake with Scotland and create our own economic union. Maybe invite Iceland, Ireland, and the Faroe Islands. We could call it the West Viking Lands Accord.

Has anyone seen the ad for the IKEA catalogue?
It's a treat. Here's the link:

Greatness!

I don't think there's anything someone could do to get me to a Star Trek anything.

Fancy Pants?

Oh, what I'd give to stand in the rain. I live in California (San Joaquin Valley) and I don't remember the last time we saw rain. I've even done my best rain dance.......nothing

Be careful what you wish for. Standing in and working in the rain in Lubbock Texas and blowing wind.... temp around 50°F.

I wish I could share. We have a tropical storm off the coast so its been nothing but rain for 3 days straight

Oh, the Star Trek thing sounds so cool!! My mom and I are huge fans and we always go to every Star Trek thing they have in the area (okay, I think it helps that she basically indoctrinated me into Star Trek when I was young but that's the kind of indoctrination I don't mind).

Mrs Happy and I went to the symphony tonight and had two firsts - On the fist half of the program the symphony performed a Beethoven piece that I had never heard of let alone heard
Wellington's Victory. Written to honor Wellington's victory over Napoleon's brother at Vitoria The percussionists looked like they were having a ball - simulating the battle with all sorts of whirly gigs and poppers
The second half was Mahler's first symphony which they were recording for a commerical release next year. I'm happy to say noone's cell phone went off or watch beeped :)

Two fists...like two thumbs up but better? ;)

Oh jeezalou! Lubbock - where you don't walk 'round a corner without strapping yourself to a friend or holding on to something cemented into the ground. I always felt sorry for my amigas who went to Tech in the late 80's/early 90's - the era of the Big Aquanet Hairstyle.

It sounds like severe eyestrain. I know when I read for too long a period, not using computer or e-reader, just a regular printed book, the letters get fuzzy so I know I should stop for awhile. If I do, then my eyes are ok. Have you had cataract surgery sometime? I feel my cataract surgery has had effect on me.

Let us know what the verdict is...take care you!

Happy, my dogs are the same. neither of them like water except to drink it and even then they stay back when you refresh their water bowl for fear you are going to wet them..or give them a spontaneous bath in the water bowl. lol. The little dog is worse than our big dog with water.

My mum is having cataract surgery in November. She feels like there's always something floating in front of her eyes - like a minute piece of fluff. My grandpa saw full on spots.
I hope it's nothing too serious. Thanks for reminding us to make appointments. I just realised that I'm eligible for one now :)

Thanks, Darcy. I am not alone--and that counts a whole lot.

Good grief, Darcy. That condition sounds positively sci fi. :)
(sorry to hear it could give you future troubles)

Mostly, it's blurred vision and watery eyes - more of an annoyance than painful. The doc and I keep a close eye on it, so it's all good. Plus if I ever have to get the surgery, I may end up not needing glasses to drive anymore. Early days yet though.

In unrelated news, my six year-old has an Adrian Peterson jersey she's giving away to anyone who wants it.

Including one who texted it to me.
My friends enable me. :D

Why they did that is a complete mystery to me. :P
