You're still welcome to chat with us about the book. :)I'm about 3 chapters in. I'm a native northern Cali girl, so the setting already has me.
The idea of putting paranormal and post-apocalyptic together is kind of interesting. I'm sure there's many books out there like this, but I can't say that I've read any? Maybe I have at one point...my mind just can't seem to bring any to mind.
I so hope you all like it!
Gave me my new dream crush...not that I don't already have a long list hahah

I'm going to add to the chorus of people on here that I've already heard sing its praises. I loved this one and couldn't believe how far away the sequel is since I was ready to start it as soon as I finished Angelfall! :(
It's been quick so far. I got to the halfway point in practically no time. I like that something has been happening non-stop. There's been no downtime.
I feel like I need to re-read this now, you guys have got me all excited about it. This is one of those stories I just want more from every character. I'm so curious about Penryn's mom and the voices. Do you remember her saying she had some task to complete or something similar? Was that ever explained? And that ending with Paige (view spoiler)

Very creepy. I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up having to (view spoiler). UNLESS (view spoiler)
I bought this but I have no idea when I'm going to get time to read it. I want to be part of the fun too!
Wendy F wrote: "I can't wait to see what you think Cassi! Are you going to get to it this month?"I don't know. Depends on how quickly I can finish the galleys I'm reading. I'm trying to knock some stuff out of the way so I can read stuff on my TBR list.
I think I read it in two days its a can't put down book
This is one of my favorite books of 2011, I read it in a day because I could not put the book down. It's non stop action. I'm itching to get my hands on the next book, I just have to find out whats going to happened to.

It was a great book, very different from what I expected. It gave you just enough questions to keep you salivating and a lot of action that had me flying through the book. It was one of those books where I kept saying, one more chapter, one more chapter.
I definitely think the father will end up showing up. I hope he's not special, but I definitely think he'll eventually be part of the story.
Started my re-read today. I love the way the author introduces some of the backstory with Penryn's Mom. Chapter 7 or 8 I forget (view spoiler) I find her moms character so interesting.
Jenny wrote: "I started it too and really like it so far."Had you not read it before Jenny? Had I known I would have hounded you just a little bit. It seems like something right up your alley.
I like how the book starts off right away with something happening. There's no better way to get me pulled in than to throw action at me right off the bat. I'm going to be trying to see if I pick up on anything different this time around, but it's been a while since reading the first time, so I might be picking up things I forgot instead.

I really enjoy the short succinct chapters and I was gripped immediately with the opening pages.@Jenny whew good cuz I'm horrible and bullying people into reading books I love.
Angelfall is up there for books I've recommended the most, simply because I think it will appeal to a broad range of reader types.
I was thinking the same thing with how it starts off. Bam, right into the action. No time to get bored. This is my first read so I'm really interested to see what's going on with this mother. I'm sure it has to be more than what they say it is.
So far I'm sucked in and excited!
I'm flying through my reread and i'm loving this book more than the first time :)Penryn's mom (view spoiler)
I'm just at 7%. Its weird but I am finding some turns of phrases slightly awkward and cliched. I read this the first time when I haven't read much YA and fantasy so its like reading something new now.
Penryn is instantly likeable though (view spoiler). Girl got braaaaaaaaiiiinnnnsssssss...

I'm 40% and I still haven't really figured Raffe out. I can't decide if he likes Penryn, is using her or is just amused with her. Normally by now the guy is pretty protective but he's so unpredictable. Like when (view spoiler) Weirdly enough, I'm happy he's a bit of a mystery. I have a feeling he's going to be one of my favorite book guys.

I actually like it so much I probably intentionally forgot the bit where (view spoiler). I like how their relationship was subtle and flirty rather than in your face romance.
I'm at 51% so Penryn can (view spoiler) I don't think she saw them and i'm pretty sure they (view spoiler)
Curiouser and curiouser.
I didn't know Dee and Dum were gingers! They now remind me of Fred and George :) Hee!
Robin wrote: "Dee Dum. I love those guys."I was cracking up with them and just thinking Whaaaaa da?
Ash Wednesday wrote: "I didn't know Dee and Dum were gingers! They now remind me of Fred and George :) Hee!"
The truly strange ones always are. We are all sorts of weird and way too curious. I clicked on you're second spoiler even though I'm only 48% and got the double spoiler tag. HAHA, that stopped me so thank you. I always ruin things for myself cause I'm all...just tell me!
Bailey, your spoiler at 40% I love that scene but I love the scene that comes after... With Anita :p that will probably make it to film if the movie does ever get made.
Ash Wednesday wrote: "Bailey, your spoiler at 40% I love that scene but I love the scene that comes after... With Anita :p that will probably make it to film if the movie does ever get made."That HAS to be in the movie. That was just classic. How Penryn starts it...hahaha, I died.
I wish I didn't have to wait till tonight to start up again. I have a feeling I'm right at the edge of some crazy shit happening. I should have just kept going last night, sleep is for the weak. (I was so so weak)
