Hi I'm brand new here. Only just discovered GR and now I'm SO excited to connect with so many passionate readers like myself. I'm 14 and live in Oregon. Right now I'm reading a brand NEW book which has blown me away. It's called Larva High School and I stayed up all night to read. I even brought my Kindle to the restroom so I could keep reading LOL, did you ever do that or am I just too book crazy?
Welcome Heather! This site is so awesome, you'll love it :) Oh, and I don't think your Kindle obsession is crazy at all, I literally take it EVERYWHERE with me LOL!!

HI, My name is Marybeth and i absolutely love to read. I normally have five or six books with me when i am trying to decide if i like a book but when i am at school i carry two books sometimes three. it depends on how heavy my book bag is at the time. I have four months in High school left so i am really excited about getting out and having a real life during the summer. I also plan on reading a lot. I love to read any kind of YA books and i have tried to read the Stephen king books But they were a bit too old for me so i might try later. I also love to read Naruto in my spare time. I also like to hang out with my friends, go hiking and listen to my rock music.

Hi! I'm new to this group and new to goodreads.
I think I've introduced myself in this group more than twice already, but I kept being an inactive Goodreads member...But I'm for sure going to stay this time!
My name is Theresa, and on my goodreads account it says I'm 100 years old, so 100 years old it is.
I write, and edit, and write, and edit again.
I love talking to people and making friends. In real life I'm extremely shy and will hide behind people that are bigger than me because I am very small.
I love listening to music. :) It is its own kind of writing.
And of course I love reading, sometimes reading books just to rant about them, or freak out about them in reviews. I'm always up for suggestions. :)
It's really nice to meet you all. :) I will stay this time!
Hi! I'm Makenna. I'm 14 and I live in Alabama, USA. I'm trying to challenge myself to read more. I love to play softball, basketball, and pretty much any other sport! My favorite thing to do is listen to music or play it on the piano or guitar, even though I'm just learning how to play it. I love the Percy Jackson series and the Hunger Games Trilogy.
Hi, I'm Lynne and I live in Australia. I read a lot of YA books, even though it's been a long time since I could call myself a young adult. I excuse myself by saying it's research for my writing. :-)
I'm probably older than all of you combined, LOL. I'll be 53 soon, and I love YA books, esp. dystopian ones. I'm not too active on this site, and another group similar to this one that I joined hasn't been very active in months. Some favorite YA books: Twilight saga, The Hunger Games trilogy, The Divergent trilogy, The Archived, Harry Potter (maybe that one is not quite YA, but I still love them).
In a fast paced world where many people want the fastest and easiest way of doing something, it is rare to find someone reading a book. Although it is a fast paced world, people will slow down to read a Percy Jackson book. These books will make you want to be part of the adventure that is in these books. They really put you in the story and are very vivid and clear in what exactly is happening. The story line always has some twists and turn waiting around every corner which makes the reader wants to keep reading Riordans books. Percy Jackson is just a teenager that is also caught in many of the situations that teens get caught in today. Percy Jackson is an amazing series, and even I, who have read the series four times fall in love with the series each time I read the books again. Many young adult readers compare these books to the Harry Potter series which is one of the many reasons it is so popular among the young adult crowd. The author, Rick Riordan, managed to take a boring and distasteful subject too many teenagers that is Greek mythology, and turn it into adventure that has many problems that teens in this generation face today. Like Harry Potter fans, their desire to go to Hogwarts and become a wizard is similar to Percy Jackson fans desire to go to Camp Half-blood. A place where Half-bloods (people that have human and God blood in them) train themselves to be able to protect themselves from the monsters that are out in the world. The series follows Perseus Jackson, a teenager that is the son of Poseidon, God of the Sea. When his mother is captured by a Minotaur he is told to go to Camp Half-blood to train. He is only a twelve year old boy when he first arrives to Camp Half-blood and has many questions about himself, his father, and of course is confused with the fact that all of the Gods exist. In each book there is a prophecy in which Percy along with his friends, Annabeth and Grover must accomplish in order to the Titan Kronos. During his time at the camp, Percy makes a lot of friends and enemies and also finds out many secrets about the camp, his friends and the plan of the enemies. This is a series that makes you laugh and surprises you by how well Rick Riordan connects each book to each other.
