Hi! I'm Alaina, I'm 24 and from the US. Reading is probably the only hobby I've been consistent with my whole life... I like to try new things like crafts, home projects, and basically anything to keep busy. I can not pick a favorite book (there are way too many) but I tend to enjoy paranormal/fantasy the most. I recently have been obsessed with The Mortal Instruments series and A Song of Ice and Fire (even though it's not YA).

Hi! I'm Adriana, and I'm 26 (for a couple of more months anyway). I LOVE to go to church, hang out with my family, and read. My passion is writing. I'm hoping to do the self-pub thing on Kindle in a couple of months when I get my manuscript right where I want it. At the moment, though, I'm loving the day job working in Kindergarten. I could no sooner pick a fave book than I could a favorite star in the sky, and I'm a genre hopper, just recently getting into the ya paranormal/sci fi romances (I'm a romance girl at heart). I will say probably the best book I've read in a long time (and I'm talking plot line and story twists) is Bound by C.K. Bryant. Love it! I hope everyone has a blessed and wonderful day!

Hello Adriana. I also work in the schools and keep going with your passion for writing. What kind of book are you working on now?

Chris wrote: "Hello Adriana. I also work in the schools and keep going with your passion for writing. What kind of book are you working on now?"Thanks! It's a YA Sci-Fi Romance. It's a slow go with a two year running around who thinks anytime I pull out the laptop its for her to play on so I'm pulling a lot of late nights and early mornings. But (hopefully) it's worth it!

Welcome Adriana, awesome to have you in the group and best of luck with your novel while chasing the little one!

Hi, My name is Metrov, I'm a writer living in Santa Barbara, California. Based on the stacks of books in my office (that still need to be read) I love reading too much! My favorite writer (at this moment in time) is Mark Hodder (steampunk). I started writing fantasy, which evolved into steampunk fantasy, and just finished an historical fantasy about Leonardo da Vinci which I call "machinepunk!" I try to have as much fun as possible! :)

Hi everyone! My name is Yoon-Ji, and I live all the way in Hong Kong, but I'll be moving to New York for college soon! I'm 18, and I am absolutely, 100% head-over-heels in love with reading. I've always dreamt of becoming an author one day, and I've written a few short stories and even a historical fiction novella once! I love all things YA, especially the little (or big) elements of romance. (: I also happen to have a huge sweet tooth, so I'm into baking and exercising (gotta get rid of all that sugar I eat somehow) too. Whoo that's a long spiel! Oh, and I also started a book review blog late last year too, so swing on by if you're interested! (:

Since I cannot remember if I actually introduced myself here, here it is. Hi everyone, my name is Stephanie! I have a passion for reading and while I am particular about the books I read, a well written YA novel is a thorough enjoyment. :) The Fault in Our Stars is next on my to-reads list, actually. Nice to meet you all!

Doug here. I joined thinking this was for Young Adult novel enthusiasts, not young adults. Now I feel like the creepy old guy in the room (I'm 51). But I do like YA novels -- favorites would be Ptolemy's Gate and the rest of the Bartimaeus trilogy, The Golden Compass and its sequels, Penelope, and Terry Pratchett's Tiffany Aching books, like A Hat Full of Sky. Also liked Neil Gaiman's Coraline, Lemony Snicket's books, The Book Thief, and of course To Kill a Mockingbird. Anyway, let me know if age is a problem :)

Welcome Doug! No, you're right, it's for those who love reading YA books, regardless of age. I'm well past YA age but still love the books! The Book Thief was my favorite book I read last year ;)

Unfortunately, neither one of us like Zusak's second book, I am the Messenger. It wasn't terrible, but neither was it very memorable.

Hmm I almost bought it once but decided not to... I'll have to consider whether to read it. The Book Thief is a hard act to follow!

Hi, I'm Jack and I am happy to be a part of Young Adult Enthusiasts. Just one question, is the group active other than the introductions because it looks like a great group but doesn't look like its been very active lately.
