Hi, my name is Vincent Morrone. I've always been a big reader. My favorite type of fiction has always been fantasy/paranormal/young adult. I love the Harry Potter series, but I also loved the Twilight books, the Angie Sage Septimus Heap series and the Gone books by Michael Grant.
I too am a big Angie Sage fan. Hey has anyone read the P.B.Kerr Children of the Lamp Series?

p.s my favorite series: hunger games, percy jackson(duh), anything rick riordan really, dont like overly depressing books:( i WILL cry and i will cry HARD. i also have a new favorite genre. books set in present day based off of fairy tales. really good.

That's fine. Khalif Aziz is 13 and he has his first in a series out now. Publishing isn't hard, nor is it too costly. Mostly you need dedication.

I am Keri, I am 14 and live in USA. I love playing piano, reading, and making creative things and crafts.My favorite book at the moment is Unwind by Neal Shusterman. It makes you think about your morals and what you think about the world. I also like Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, East, Peter and the Starcatchers... Mostly series--I have no idea why.

Hi, I'm Joe and I write young adult fiction. I joined to get a sense of what everyone is talking about and what interests young readers. I also have a 13 year old son who is an avid reader and have shared and enjoyed many YA titles with him.

Hi everyone, I'm Jessica and I'm a 37yr old mom of 2. I'm in grad school right now working on my MS in Inclusive Education. I was a Special Ed teacher for about 6 yrs prior to having kids. I'm taking a class in YA Fiction right now and it's really sparked a love for the genre. So much that I may work in anoter masters degree in this area if I can! I am currently reading a Tale Dark & Grimm for class. Just finished Jerk, California, which I LOVED! I look forward to getting to know you all.

Hi Jessica! THe Gone series is about kids who get trapped in the "FAYZ" and everyone over 15 disappears suddenly. These kids have to learn how to survive and live on their own. It has a Lord of the Flies feel with a little science fiction edge. They are so cool. There are 5 books out right now nad I'm pretty sure there's a 6th one coming out. I definitely recommend them! :)

I agree. It's a great premise. All of a sudden, no adults. And the kids left are not only cut off from the rest of the world, but their world isn't following the normal rules anymore. I'd agree with the Lord of the Flies analogy. Sort of that crossed with that TV show Heroes, if you ever saw that when it was on. It's a very cool series.

Keep writing. I used to write all the time when I was your age. I gave it up even though it was my dream and just got back to it over the last several years. I'm finally about to see myself become a published author sometime next year. I wish I had never stopped. So keep it up!
My middle name is Wrivers.....Anyways, I'm already looking at how to become a published author. If you want to see some of my work, I've posted some here.
I joined about a week ago, but I'm still not getting any rec's- I added a bunch of books and everything. Dx Is anyone else having this problem?

The literary world has so many wonderful things to read I can't seem to pick one. I will say that I have just read "The Magikh Series: The Black Phoenix" by new teen writer Khalif Aziz. He is awesome. Let's see, I guess I seem to revisit "Wild Seed" by Octavia Butler a lot. Also, I do have a great affinity for classics, "Dante's Inferno" being one. But I have also, fallen into this new collection of interracial romance novels by J.J. Murray. And let us not forget the Star Wars Saga.
