Danielle (meimei42) Hello! I'm Dani, I am 27 and from the United States. I'm an elementary school teacher and I'd rather read than do just about anything I love. Jennifer Armetrout (Lux & Covenant series), Amy Bartol (Premonition Series), Suzanne Collins (Hunger Games) and so many more authors.

Ridhee wrote: "What books have you read? Ruskin Bond?"
Almost what I'd found. Classic Ruskin Bond Complete and Unabridged, The Night Train at Deoli and other Stories, When Darkness falls and Other Stories, Time Stops at Shamli and other Stories, The rupa laughter omnibus, The Best of Ruskin Bond, Rusty runs away.
I'm afraid I am still low in number but I like what I read.

My apology but I've no idea about 'potpurri'. Would you please tell me about of it. Well poetry seems little hard for me to get on but I sometime write some and they become rather scribble than poetic. I've read Gitanjali by Rabindra Nath Tagore and I really like that.

message 559: by Pari {Ridhee} (new)

Pari {Ridhee} (ridhee) | 89 comments Potpurri is a collection of stories by Ruskin Bond. I got it long time back and read it just before I joined goodreads. It was a good book. I couldnt leave it. Just like Harry Potter or Percy Jackson. Must say, Indian authors also have a very good way of writing.
Gitanjali... I will not be able to understand at this age and I think classics are too much for me, as I like action packed books. Nevertheless, I will read it when I grow up and see if I liked it then or not.

Oh Thanks for making me familiar to Potpurri. By the way have you gone through Amish Tripathi's The immortals of meluha and The secret of the Nagas? These are packed with action, fiction and mythological socks.

What age of kids do you teach?

As for the books, right now the Lux series is my favorite. Its about aliens technically, but it is so well done. Pretty much a paranormal romance. Covenant is by the same author, but that is about kids who are decedents from the greek gods.

Premonition is a series about Angels.

And The Hunger Games is a dystopian story about kids meant to fight to the death as "punishment" for a rebellion that happened 74 years ago.

message 574: by Chad (new)

Chad Stegman I didn't like the Hunger games trilogy.

message 575: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) Aha! So i'm not the only one who wasn't completly in love with them (that may be due to someone blowing them out of porportion for me and then spoiling it so...).
