Thanks =] The Queen's Thief is a really interesting series, its super intricate and every time you read it you discover something new! It's great for analyzing lol.
Basically the books cover three countries, Eddis, Sounis, and Attolia, and how they evolve and survive. The first book is about a boy named Gen who is a thief and goes on a journey to find something they call the Gift.
I could go on, but I don't think I'll do it justice and I don't want to accidentally spoil anything.
However, I found a REALLY good review of the series from The Book Smugglers, please take a look!

http://thebooksmugglers.com/2009/07/i...

And yes Jenelle, the series is by Megan Whalen Turner!

Hello! My name is Issy, I'm 14 and I live in Australia, I enjoy reading (obviously), playing computer, hanging with friends, and basically just being a normal teenager.I like writing but generally peter out about one chapter(or page sometimes) in. I'm a bit of a geek and really like school- minus the stress!
I love to read pretty much anything but especially enjoy adventure, historical and classics. Favourite books is a hard one but I loved Harry Potter, The Book Thief, The Hobbit and anything by Terry Pratchett!

I haven't read the Infernal Devices yet! I only recently (ish) read all of the Mortal Instruments series and since I have so many books to read I figured that I'd space them out a bit to avoid confusion. I hear from everyone that they're excellent though.

Hi Issy! Welcome to the group! I'm Ally. Seems we have a TON of Harry Potter fans here (how could we not in a YA group though, it's amazing!)

message 504: by Precia (new)

Precia (preciak) | 3 comments Hi! My name is Kendell, and I am 14 years old and I live in the Big Apple (New York City). I love traveling and shopping. It's basically my whole life structure. Also I love going everywhere with my friends. And the biggest thing of all is reading lol :)
I love the author Sara Shephard. Especially her pretty little liars series and the lying game. I'm more about paranormal romances, thrillers, and mysteries.

message 505: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Giammona (ashleygiammona) Hello! My name is Ashley. I'm 19 and I'm from Upstate NY but attend University in Philadelphia. I love exploring new things and competition. I'm also pretty big on traveling. I'm currently really big on the tv shows Doctor Who and Sherlock.

My favorite book is now a 3 way tie between The Giver, The Great Gatsby and The Fault In Our Stars (which was my first book of this summer's reading list but it was just so incredibly good!). I also love the Harry Potter series and Hunger Games :)

message 506: by Ally (new)

Ally Hi Kendell! I'm Ally. I have friends who live in NYC (Central Park West, Bronx, and Upper East Side) and am so jealous! It's an awesome place. Ive never read PLL/Lying Game, but I started watching both shows before I knew of the books and I really enjoy them! :)

Hey Ashley! All of the books you mentioned are so good! And I've been dying to start watching Sherlock! You reccomend it? Im Ally, by the way.

Welcome to the both of you, and I hope you both enjoy the group!

message 509: by Peg (Marianna) (new)

Peg (Marianna) DeMott (elady1951) Hi, I'm a high school librarian in Indiana. Lucky for me I'm loving the YA books I recommend to my kids. I'm a member of our star awards committee, so this keeps me really busy and forces me to read a diverse selection of books.

message 510: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 70 comments Hi, I'm Mandy and I'm also from Indiana. I'm 20 and enjoy reading (of course), singing, and origami. I'm more of a Jane Austen or Charlotte Bronte fan myself so my favorite book would probably have to be Jane Eyre. :)

message 511: by Anna (new)

Anna (yourlittleanything) Hello! My name is Anna! I'm 15 years old and am from the US! I spend most of my time on the internet, but I am also an avid book reader. I am currently reading the third book (The Titan's Curse) in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, and I absolutely love it! I love all types of literature, but YA fiction ranks at the very top! A few other favorite books/series of mine are:

1. Divergent/Insurgent (Can't wait for the 3rd. Super excited!) - Veronica Roth
2. The Hunger Games/Catching Fire/Mockingjay - Suzanne Collins
3. Matched/Crossed (3rd coming out soon!) - Ally Condie
4. I love Harry Potter (In the midst of reading this, too.)

Other books that I enjoy that aren't catergorized as YA Fiction are:

1. Little Women
2. Romeo and Juliet
3. Gone with the Wind
4. The Phantom of the Opera
5. Insert more classics here.

I'm open to trying anything, so I'm super excited to be joining this group! :)

If any of you would like to be friends, seeing as how I have none on here, please do request!

message 515: by Katrina (new)

Katrina Welsh (katrinawelsh_) Hi Laura. Love Harry Potter and I just recently finished reading Hush, Hush. I surprisingly liked it since paranormal stuff seems to be hit-and-miss with me. I can't say why, but I really liked Hush, Hush. I honestly don't know what it was about that book.

message 516: by Between the Bind (new)

Between the Bind (betweenthebind) | 1 comments Hi I'm Jenna Lynne from Between the Bind. I'm from the USA and my favorite book/series is way too difficult to discern...so I'll say my favorite genre is Paranormal Romance. :)

message 518: by Laura (new)

Laura Walz (lauraspellbinder) | 10 comments Yes, Harry Potter is a favorite for a lot of people, lol. Hush, hush is just that good. I read the first book when it first came out and I was working in a Barnes and Noble. Then I moved, and I could not remember what the book was called. Then I found the series at a store! I think they should be made into movies! I don't know what it is about Hush, Hush, but I enjoyed it more than Twilight!

Hi, I'm Vishal from India. As a profession I do teaching and very fond of reading. I have a great liking for historical fiction and ancient learning as well as I love science fiction and sometime I feel sticking with non-fiction is also interesting. Alchemist was the book which had given me my enthusiasm back. Some writers in my favorite list are Paulo Coelho, Rusking Bond, George Orwell, Albert Camus, Dan Brown, H.G. Wells, Arvind Adiga, Kiran Desai and Shashi Deshpande as well as Osho's books are my mind support system. My living is a mixture of Mahayana Buddhism and Osho's way. Presently I have picked up 'The Origin Of Species' by Charles Darwin.

Your books pattern matches mine, though historical fiction is fun, but i sometimes find it boring and forget to add it to my list. Idont like non-fiction. As for authors, only Ruskin Bond :(
