This was a bad week for reading. Snow's under control, DH goes back to work tomorrow. I won't be able to get out with the car, so I'll be inside reading, I hope. Too much time spent doing work on the computer. So, still reading the same two books.

Susan wrote: I really liked this book. It was the first book that I have read by Kleypas.Oh, Susan, if you liked this one, be sure to read more by Lisa Kleypas. I've read several, both contemporary and regency romances, and they are all enjoyable and well-written. You can't go wrong with her books!
I've heard a lot of good things about that one, Susie. I'll probably read it eventually, but there are way too many other books that I want to read first :)
I had to set aside Shatner Rules: Your Guide to Understanding the Shatnerverse and the World at Large for a weeklong Toppler (read-a-thon with tasks), and read way too many romances in a row. Now back to Shatner Rules.
Jaxnsmom, what romances did you read? That's one of my favorite genres, and I'm always looking for something new.I've been in a chick lit phase and am reading
. So far it's quite good.To feed my romance fix, I'm on the second in the In the Garden series by Nora Roberts:
. I sometmes forget how much I love a particular series until I pick up the next and get right back into it again. This is one of those--love the strong characters.
I'm reading
to finish up a non-fiction challenge a another group. Then I have to hurry and read
for this month's book group ... which meets right after work on Friday!

There were some bad ones, but a few entertaining ones too.
great heroine
silly but fun and quick
really more of a cozy mystery, but romance is in the air :)

I'm trying to make my way through A Clash of Kings but I've been at it off and on since September, but I can't seem to get into it. I'm also working on Daughter of Smoke & Bone.
Behind the Yellow Tape: On the Road with Some of America's Hardest Working Crime Scene Investigators
I've been in a romance mood lately and am currently reading
in the Friday Harbor series and
which is very cute so far.
I'm going to stick the list of what I read in February here this month since there's only one cozy on it.http://carstairsconsiders.blogspot.co...
Now I'm reading
as my "K" book in a yearlong alphabet challenge. I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I really enjoyed the series of Mitford books.
Still in a romance mood. This weekend I finished
and liked it very much. Now I'm finishing up the In the Garden trilogy by Nora Roberts with
I just started Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. It's looking like a dark one, so I'll need a couple of light ones to brighten me up afterward, I think.
I read that one last year, Jaxnsmom, and the thought of that actually happening scared the beejeebers out of me!
I feel myself starting to hyperventilate, or realize my face is frozen in an Oh No shocked position, and have to tell myself to calm down. It's pushing all my anti-religion buttons, and the criminal punishment system has me seeing red (haha).
Jaxnsmom wrote: I'm listening to When She Woke . I couldn't take all the evangelical talk, but I'm getting into the story now. I haven't read any dystopia. Is this one you (or anyone) would recommend?
I'm going with the always enjoyable Mary Higgins Clark and reading
. I also started
, which was recommended to me. So far it's very good.
I just finished 11-22-63 by stephen king. I am reading remember when by jd robb. I like ot a lot. Next i will be reading little women or house of mirth. I have read every mary higgins clark book out there.

Reading Case Histories
. This is the first Kate Atkinson I've read. I was a little uncertain about it on page one, but by page three I was hooked. Good book!

Yeah, I would recommend it. It takes a while to get into, but then you want to know more. I haven't read a lot of them, but a couple more I would recommend are White Horse and The Dog Stars. World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War is great for those who aren't sure if they want to read zombie books :) And for some female kickass against zombies, The First Days is great.

I'm listening to
. I'm not a huge fan of the series, but I'm listening to it to complete a challenge.

It didn't suck? Well, now I'm kind of looking forward to reading it (or listening to it, as the case may be).
I just finished Defending Jacob by William Landay, and am now reading One Good Turn by Kate Atkinson. Both are terrific.
Susan wrote: "I just finished Defending Jacob by William Landay, and am now reading One Good Turn by Kate Atkinson. Both are terrific."How funny-- I just finished Case Histories by Atkinson and started The Strangler by Landay.
Susan and Jennifer - that is too funny :D
I loved Case Histories and have added One Good Turn to my tbr.

Great minds . . . read alike? I loved Case Histories, and also Started Early, Took the Dog (great title too), so I'm reading them out of order.

I also loved Started Early, Took My Dog.
I'm reading

Here's the last 3 books I finished reading:
The Tin Horse: A Novel (fiction, 3 stars)
Blue Revolution: Unmaking America's Water Crisis (nonfiction, 5 stars)
Where'd You Go, Bernadette (fiction, 4 stars)
I need "I" books for a challenge, so I started 2 this week:
The Inn At Eagle Point by Sherryl Woods and
Ice by Linda Howard
I finished What's a Witch to Do? last night. Not bad - bit more romance than I was expecting... but not bad.
