Welcome to the group Irene. There are so many Scandinavian thrillers, and I've just started my first, The Snowman. Maybe you can introduce us to some Scandinavian cozies. And hopefully you'll find some new series here.

I haven't been reading cozy mysteries very long. I do love them though. I enjoy Joann Fluke, and Amanda Lee so far. I've gotten a lot of other cozies from PBS I just need to get to reading them.
Hey Christie. Welcome to the group. Glad you'll have some time to catch up on your reading, and I hope you'll find some good books here.
Hi Jessica. Glad you joined the group. We'll have to add some more books to your TBR!

I love the escapism. And that they're quick reads. I love a mystery that I can't figure out before the end. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen very often. But that's okay. There's that satisfaction of being right. Who doesn't like that?
I've read "Homicide in Hard Cover" and loved it so much I've read everything since. I'm looking forward to reading

Welcome new members!
Hi Irene. At least your commute is good for something.
Hey Donna. Congratulations on your dream home and your upcoming anniversary!
Hi Debbie. Cozies are great for relaxing. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on Pick Your Poison.
I hope you'll all find some new books to love!

That would be one of my dream jobs also. I don't see me leaving with much of a paycheck though:)

I have that problem. That's why I started going to the library near work. I take in two big bags with me and fill them up. Lol.

Welcome to the group Mandi! I used to go the BAM near me and cruise the shelves with a little notebook and pen. Then I'd go home and get on the library website to see which books they had. Now I cruise the GR site, open a second screen for my library, and put books on hold :)

Thank you! I actually do both now. On my breaks, and during truck days, I make a list of what I want to read. And now, I look through GR and make a book shelf of what I want to read but haven't checked out yet. That way I can just print it out and go browse the library.

Welcome Sofia! Great to have you here, and glad you're already getting started on the June reads. I bet this will be a big change from the Stephen King novel :)

Welcome Tammy, and welcome to cozies! They're a great break from darker reads. Feel free to ask nay questions and check out the bookshelf.
Hi Diane! Glad you found our group. Hopefully you'll find some more great cozy books here. Cozies are a great part of a balanced diet :D
I hope you'll both join us for this month's reads.

I love cozies between books as well, and I find I go on "cozy kicks" sometimes...I love grabbing a few series firsts at the library!

I live in Port Hardy,British Columbia, Canada. I was born in England, but grew up in Australia and NewZealand.

Hi Barbara. I know there are some good Italian mystery writers, but what about cozies? Maybe you can introduce us to some new authors.
Hi Tom. Cozies are great to get lost in, there are silly fun ones and more in depth ones, and such a variety of jobs and hobbies.
Wow, Deb, I'm impressed with everything you do, especially being a foster parent. Glad you find time to read!
Lori, we can help feed your cozy addiction! Hope you'll share some of your favorites with us.

I mostly do it this way due to being on a lower income than when I was younger. Now, I'll do most anything to save $$. :) Except give up reading...no, no way!!

Piacere, Barbara! Have you ever read Elizabeth Peters' book, THE SEVENTH SINNER? It's not a cozy, but it is a comparatively light mystery with great characters by someone who also delivers great cozy mysteries. Also, Ms. Peters novel CROCODILE ON THE SANDBANK and STREET OF THE FIVE MOONS have scenes in Rome.

Welcome, Kim! I read a lot of books in fantasy, YA and children's, too. I'm guessing you've read THE WESTING GAME. It's a classic mystery for kids with a strong cozy streak.

I love all kinds of books from Agatha Christi to Clive Cussler [my favorite] and Sir Author Conan Doyle.
I'm open to suggestions, but I don't read books with sex scenes or books with lots of vulgar language.
I like the cozy mysteries by Josi S. Kilpack.

I used to be that way. Through my 30's I wanted to own every book that interested me. Then I moved so often for a few years, that I decided to donate most of my books to the local library each time I moved. These days I can't afford to buy many books, although I've gotten some great ones at library sales. I've also lost that need to own them, I'd actually like to own less of all the stuff clogging up my house :D I get most of my books from the library, I have 3 great systems, and between books, cassette and cd audiobooks, playaways, and overdrive downloads, I can get almost any book I want in a reasonable time.

Hey Kim. What kind of writing do you do? Are you plotting the murder of any of the guests?
Hi Monika. Reading has always been very important in my life too. I hope you'll find some great new books here. What kind of dog do you have? I have two border collie mixes.
Hello Brenda. I've been wanting to read Lemon Tart for a while now. Hope you'll share some other favorites with us.

I've picked up my reading as I'm working on my own novel at the moment. I'm working on the editing.

HI Deb,
I have been to Canada [twice], England, New Zealand and Australia. I loved them all.
I too do crafts [I am starting a new DIY], knit and quilt. I like to bake, but just don't do it any more.

You are NOT the only one. My son (34) and I are both the same way.I do still check books periodically from the library, but usually the ones I cant find yet in the used bookstores that I want to read in a succession of a series. When I do find them for sale, I buy them even though I have read it.

My passions are reading and traveling. Reading is actually a cheap way to travel through time or space or from place to place,
One of my favorite author is Agatha Christie.

Hi Deb-
Nice to meet you. If you love reading you may want to go to www.bragmedallion and sign up to read! We are having fun finding great self-published books. One of our honorees is Maids of Misfortune by Louisa Locke which I think you would love-

Hi Dina. Reading is definitely a great way to explore the universe, and different time periods. What language do you read most of your books in?
Hey Denise. Cozies are so much fun. I love Izzy Spellman and her family.
Hi Connie. I remember being told to "turn out that light and go to sleep" many times, especially whenever I got a new book.
